I really hate it when people say that homestuck is just about ships because the only reason we ship things is because 1: there are so many characters to ship together and 2: we are really just trying to distract ourselves from the amount of feels.
Mine too!! It's so fascinating, and I love how open for interpretation it is. The character design and look into troll aging and society is so fascinating.
You know. I can understand not making the entire homestuck series a movie. It's crazy long. But the ancestor's story would make a great movie. Plus they'd have a lot of room for creativity in the story. Not only that they would have love stories that are supposed to be a big point in the story without screwing it up. (Mindfang/ Summoner, Signless/Delarosa/Disciple)
The story of the Ancestors is incredible. It shows the struggle of people who are excited for being "low", of hope, then of despair. Not to forget the Handmaid, she is evil but not necessarily in a bad way. She fights the Condesce with belief that a demoness would win the fight, just to be brought back down. I love it. :)
Maybe a series instead a movie wouldn't be able to catch all of the amazingness of the comic book. Make like 1 season per act or something close to the because some acts were much longer than others.
I've been tempted to make it a full length animation in the past, but I would have to gather quite a few voice actors, and I know how hard it can be to get reliable ones.

Think of it, signless was a mutant, mutants don't live as long as the other trolls. If the signless wasn't killed. He would had died with a sweep or two, from age, or sickness. The signless was able to die an honorable death, another reason why he forgive the ones who killed him, and preyed on him.
