  • We spend some of the first two weekends of June catching the UK Railtours charters that visited the York area: ‘The Blyth & Tyne …’ with back-to-back Rail Adventure class 43 HST power cars and a nice rake of Mk2 coaches (out and return workings) and ‘The Ancient Kingdom’ top’n’tailed with a pair of GBRf liveried class 57/3s.
    Also featuring the following traction:
    LSG class 47 D1935 (47805) ‘Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ’top'n'tail with SR West Country class Pacific 34046 ‘Braunton' on a private charter;
    Colas Rail / Network Rail New Measurement Train HST at speed;
    A pair of Choppers with a Peak sandwiched between en-route to Grosmont and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway diesel gala;
    A pair of class 37s returning from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway diesel gala;
    And a first for me, as they regularly ran quite late, a single class 325 Royal Mail EMU working; probably its last run on the ECML;
    A class 50 Hoover picking up a preserved class 37;
    Plus some of the regular Hitachi (bi-mode & AC only) EMUs.
    All filmed on the East Coast Main Line (ECML) south of York with an Android phone. Thank you for watching and hope you enjoyed this video as much as I have filming it; especially with the varied traction this last week.
