Big facts, ''is it hot' even has levels Ghostface's All that I got is you w Mary J Blige touched a different type of fire & he was speaking on the home life. Not for the clubs, yet relatable, good stuff C King💯
I like that song with will smith 😮😂 he was talking about be everything all at once. But I do agree that to be a rapper and in hip hop, you have to be a student, always.
melle mel is hip-hop tho, who are u to disrespect any of our Black legends??? we never stick our nose in other ppl's culture, but yall outsiders always do it to us... critique ur own legends (if u have any) & we'll critique ours, especially since ur ppl were the last to embrace Black culture...
What he saying is that he had to go back and straighten his rapping chop. Damn, how hard is that to understand? He did not lose it but he did have to pick up his timing and etc...
As you all well know perception of music is up to the listener. I agree with what LL said but having listened to both singles with videos that he put out from this new project I think he sounds basically the same skill level wise. The difference in his sound is with the production of Q-Tip. As for Will's Work of Art track, you can disagree with his use of flow, but I don't have a problem with it on that particular song. I doubt he uses that flow on all of his new songs. I think it's a concept song created specifically in that style he used. I think the video does far better for the song than just hearing the song. That's how I first experienced it so that played a huge part in my evaluation of it.
I wouldn’t blame LL for saying he had to retrain himself to get back in the game if you really think about it he’s been deep in rap for 34 and gained Grammies and is an actor advocate father grandfather he has to hold title to keep up with the times and now with this new album I can’t wait to hear it exclusively by him and q tip
LL didn't relearn how to rap. He was on tour in 2023 actually rapping his songs. However, he meant he had to evolve his flow to fit today's terms. I think LL went beyond just fitting today's terms...imo. Also, I remember hearing youngster LL (1980s) do a flow like that of Passion, and he did a whole lot more bars than Passion. It's a recording and it's on TH-cam somewhere...and by the end of it, he was tired and thirsty!
Relearn for what reason? Who in the WORLD could he be looking at to relearn how to rap. If anything rappers today should be looking back at him. This already smells like that new Busta album. If people wanted what was currently out they would be buying it.
Had he stated that he forgot some of his lyrics I could accept his statement a little better. But rapping ? Unless he's used to always rapping pre-written lyrics 😮. Cannibus.....cough..
A person in any profession should be knowledgeable of how their profession has grown and changed over the years. A graphic designer from the 80s CANNOT compete with a graphic designer from the 2020s without learning the new techniques. Many rappers (Melle Mel comes to mind) did not brush up and aren't up to the task as a result. This is what you do when you want to be great in your line of work.
I think the end of the conversation was gross and toxic af. You were never supposed to rap in your normal voice. It IS a performance hence why it sounds performative. I wondered why the last Vince projects didnt hit. He said the hell with what made his music good and tried to merge image and interview into music. Theres already way too much Image in music. Worry about music.
If you don't exercise a muscle, it atrophies. 💪🏾
LL has always worked out 🧠
He’s saying stay humble and remain a student of the craft. Period! Salute 🫡 LL! That’s why he’s G!
It’s not shocking..anyone who is serious about entering into a certain profession has to research it’s current state
Remain a student of the game always. You constantly learn. And from what LL has released so far, he's still sharp.
That's how i need to look at making beats again. Music never leaves your soul...but it's changed since my time of key bangin..so much more to learn
Im an even bigger fan of LL Cool J than I was before! Still crushing on him since the 90's ❤
Kool Moe Dee never fell of lyrically what happened was he didn't change his cadence and adapt and reinvent his voice cadence
LL messed up on Tim Hardaway's crossover. Itbwas called "Killer Croseover" and it was done with two crossovers.
That's my only rebuttal. 😂😂😂
I like that LL is back!!!
I can hear it in his music he sounds reinvigorating like he's doing it for for the love not because he has to

All the new L records are dope af so... he's proving that his humility is bearing fruit
You're on top of your game CK! Great vid!
LL learning from Melle Mel's mistakes 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Uh-huh-huh… huh-huh
Really great video with nice perspectives. Good stuff
fire conversation as alway
The first word in hip-hop is hip! You gotta stay with the times before you end up looking like Melle Mel.

@@GriffinPoole I been listening to hip hop longer than you been alive. Shut up. I break, write, Dj all that. Shut tf up
@@GriffinPoole I’ll talk about whatever I feel like. No one asked your permission.
"Definitely get Beige'd with Curtiss King & Iman Omari." is CRAZZZY! 🤣🤣
This is mind blowing
Give LL his flowers.
I like the no ___ hole policy! 100%
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Reasonable Doubt by Jay and The Preface by Elzhi is the best albums to listen to as far as conversational rhyme goes
That’s why LL is the goat & 90% of these rappers are mediocre at best🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
What he saying is that he had to go back and straighten his rapping chop. Damn, how hard is that to understand? He did not lose it but he did have to pick up his timing and etc...
I had to look twice I thought that was Ebro from Hot97 at first glance

He re invented his craft

If people want a more conversational tone, why does Big Sean get so much flack than? 🤔

Because Will Smith is a light rapper. He is not in people's collection of songs. Like the heavy hitters or rappers.
You ain’t bumpin’ that “Men in Black” or “Wild Wild West”?
@@StueyJenkins Nope, you do not have to worry. I do Kool Moe Dee
Aye you a brother! Just realized it now seeing you without the baseball cap 😮

Appreciated this one a lil bit extra as an artist who rarely if ever gets to have a vocal producer or conversations on artistic approach 🫡
