  • Could this be the final and BEST season for The Curse of Oak Island? That depends on what is discovered this filming season but all indications are this season 12 will have the most amazing finds to date for this 229 year old treasure mystery!
Tom Burns and I will be joined by Coach Steve Money as we take a look at what we know so far that we can discuss and the possibility that this could be the final season of this show.

Jeff , Tom & Steve , Sea levels were 5-8 inches (12-21 centimeters) higher in 1200 AD than they are today... This was due to the Medieval Warm Period, which occurred between 1100-1200 AD and had warm conditions similar to today's climate...
Here's some more information about sea level changes over time ...
    Ice Age
During the most recent Ice Age, sea levels were 400 feet lower than they are today...
    Interglacial period
Before the last Ice Age, sea levels were likely at least 20 feet higher than they are today...
    1000 AD
There was some evidence of a 1 meter sea level oscillation in 1000 AD...
    1880-1920
The onset of modern sea level rise is believed to have occurred between 1880-1920...
    Recent rise
Sea levels have risen about 8 inches over the past century, and the current rate of rise is unprecedented over the past several millennia...

I think they have also and I sure hope they have devised a way to block them off.

48:00 Viking ships uo to 65 feet had just a few feet of draft. Flat bottom would have slid on mud also if necessary.
