For me DHP is one of my all time favourites. I have a 2017 tester bottles untouched which is my back up and my orignal 2014 bottle is on its last legs. Having tested the 100ml I found it a little brighter but no real differences. Equal performance and scent profile is the same so avoid paying overpriced and inflated prices for the 75ml bottle, your good with with 100ml
I have both versions, and I agree with you, the differences are minimal, the new one has more roses. My favorite perfume forever

To me the OG EDT is groundbreaking, the intense version legendary and the Parfum is a masterpiece love all the Dior homme version except the pre 2020 EDT, great video seb.
Agreed - the original is slightly better performance and smell, but the new version is more rosy and you get more for your money! Both are great!
I have compared the following and they smell and perform the same to me . Same old DHP.

All have the same formula number .
However I had a 75ml 2015 and that was slightly more dark or leathery when smelled upclose. Maybe due to ageing.

I have both but i love the original so much I bought 3 more pcs 75ml, quite pricey but worth it.The seller had only 6 pcs but i couldnt affort all of them. 3 bottles can last me quite long time :)
Never had the chance to smell the original but I got the "new" one some weeks ago. Hard to get even in Europe. It's my absolute new favourite!

I've tried the original formulation and loved it but it was already over $250 a bottle before I could afford it. I did just recently pick up the new formulation though, and I paid $265 for it in case anyone is wondering. I like the new one better. It's basically exactly like he said, the additional brightness makes the newer version project better. I can't imagine wearing 8 sprays of either one though!!!
If you compare them side by side, you will find the differences in the scent and performance.

Never tested the old one, but i'm on my way to have my third backup bottle of DHP 2020. Ever did that with any fragrance, ever...Agree there's on this version a rose presence clearly noticable, but, in the end, it's a dark but sensuous experience with this scent for me, and i LOVE that. It's a signature scent worthy, there's no doubt for me.
Beautiful scent just wish the 2020 had more leather, its a rose bomb for me so far
@@suchaagill7940 on my skin the leather it's very noticable, particularly on the first stage of the drydown, a polish leather with the iris and rose. Then on the later stage of the drydown the Woods and ambrette makes their presence noticed stronger and stronger, giving this scent a extremely noble character. This drydown it's magical for me. But i can only describe what i sense on my skin.

Great video, thanks a lot, Sebastian! Many had mentioned interest in attempting this comparison, but to my knowledge, absolutely noone had yet done this side by side comparison between the 75 and the 100 ml versions. Just awesome!
I did get the 100 ml last year here in Germany, directly from the Dior website. It is awesome, I think it´s very unisex, not particularly leaning feminine or masculine to me, it´s just a great smell. Dior Homme Intense is also just as great to me, I find it hard to choose which one could be better than the other.
Having a 2017 and 2019 dhp bottle and never tried 2020 yet, i think since the formula number is the same that the actual fragrance inside didn’t change ,the only variation it’s as far as the raw ingredients used in in the perfume before mixing them together. Since they have a natural origin sometimes one note might be stronger in one batch than the other. I think part of the change was in order to reduce the weight of each fragrance for transportation while keeping the same size for the manufacturing process which can be down by taking out glass and fill the space with 25 ML of extra perfume. The final fragrance might be cheaper per ML compared to the old one but maybe the cost saved can explain why the change happened
I'm in Europe and once again your comparing between these two products were the most accurant in all the parameters! I do have the both version of the Parfum, and they are excactly as you described. The new one has more airy, more "acoustic room" for the accords, when the old one have all the accords compressed closer each other. At the moment I relay most to your opinion when coming to fragrances. My hope is to hear your toughts comparing the old version of the Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles and the new 100ml version of it! If you find the similarities and differences same observations there, it would be fantastic!
This is my favorite fragrance from all over my collection and over fragrances I´ve tried with samples or in stores or whatever.
Here in Europe we are enjoying this new version from more than a year and is very curious what you say about it. Before I tested by myself some reviewers said it was a little bit more, how to say? harsh? Specially because they felt it more woody and some other things like it were less iris.
Well even with that I decided to buy a bottle and I felt it like you, very rounded about the rose and also the iris. Not too woody at all. Well, the memories are always playing with us so I went to the store where they where selling it and I compared it with the tester bottle which was the 75ml old version. They were exactly the same juice. Spot on side by side. No difference at all.
4 or 6 months later I bought another bottle of 100ml just to keep it as a backup but I couldn´t resit to open it and compare it with my other bottle of 100ml and there came my surprise. The newer bottle was more rough mainly in the leather even with no oxygenation. They are the same but I feel a kind of difference like you described between your bottles. this is a very long lasting fragrance and next day I still smell it on my skin and in this moment they finally smell the same but the firsts hours you can feel that variance.
So my conclusion is that the juice is still the same. They didn´t change anything in their formula but I think the differences that we feel have been always in this fragrance. Maybe due to the components or just one of them which could be very natural and a very little batch of it makes the difference or maybe for other reason but we have to be happy to still have such a piece of art on the market.
At least the difference in this line is not so messed up like in Aventus

Formulation codes are identical, just packaging & bottle size change. Don’t believe me, check for urself
Depends on my experience, it is not the same formula. There are some differences and I believe the performance becomes weaker than the old version 75ml. It's undeclared reformulation. Even the formula number has not changed but doesn't matter as long as the smell changed.

I smelled Dior Homme Parfum in the store, it was sweet, powdery and addictive
I ordered it and my bottle smells totally different, just really strong leather & Iris and hardly any sweet powdery smell

It's an absolute stunner I never had the original but this version is still better than 99.9% of designer fragrances.
Having never bought or smelt a Dior fragrance before. It will be ' a new ' experience for my nose. Dior Homme Parfum should be arriving 02.11.21 + got best price from Dior directly, they even added some sample extras. Nice.
I would just assume that the difference comes from the fact that they still use natural ingredients. Maybe one of their sources for some ingredients is no longer able to deliver and they have sourced a new one. Slight differences might make a huge change generally. For Dior Homme, for me, it is DH > DHP > DHI. I like DHP but Dior Homme can be worn at almost all occasions whereas DHP is a bit too on some occasions in my view.
Even getting the plants necessary to make the oils from a different source can affect a batch. According to Dior, the formula code for DHP hasn't changed since inception.
@@shave-a-thon3415 Yeah, exactly. You can compare this with tea or coffee or wine depending on which one you prefer. It might still be the same tea from the same producer you always buy but one year it night be darker, one year you get more rose, etc.

Dior homme parfum is my holy grail fragrance. Some day I'll obtain a bottle.

From speaking to a department store clerk in 2020, I was told that Dior boutiques and authorised distributors in Mexico officially offer Homme Parfum, so that may be a destination to pick up some bottles.

I have both a decant and a full bottle. The decant is older and Is definetely drier and more leathery. The full bottle is rosier and "lightier". Maybe that is what you percieve and the reason is maceration.
I have an older 2.5 bottle and it's straight up beast mode. Easily lingers 12 hours. Projects for hours. I don't know about the newer bottles, but the one I have is stunningly good.
having a faint skin scent for couple of hours is not what "beast mode" is, for christ sake. What is Amouage Interlude then? Nuclear Godzilla Super Saiyan God mode?

Just write Selfridges or Harrod's in the UK and ask them to carry it. They ship to the USA. They carry DHI but not DHP.
I agree the Parfum is difficult to get Stateside and very pricey, I just settle with DHI which can be bought online at a reasonable price.

Maybe the 75ml bottle has just matured - I got the 100ml a few months back direct from Dior (UK) it is a 10/10 masterpiece although my signature is DHI

Heyy there… i’ve been a fan of dior homme perfumes for over 10 years now… i think that a lot of batches are slightly différent even for the same formulation.. i have two different batches of dior homme parfum 75ml made in 2019 and that smell thé same but not the same . Lol
Got my 100ml. Already happy and is yet to give it a wear. Used to hv dior homme intense. It's just a lighter glass. Kudos
I have the Dior homme 2020 and the new Dior homme parfum. From the two the Dior homme edt was the best. Then Dior homme 2020 thirdly the new Dior homme parfum. Sadly never tested the old Dior homme parfum Thanks Sebastian you are costing me tons of 💴

I bought a 2022 100ml bottle and find it very feminine. It was a regretful blind buy. Highly recommend buying a sample before purchasing. I rate it 5 out of 10 for a male scent, 6.5 for a woman. A bit disappointing for an Homme scent.

I fell in love with Dior homme parfum the moment I sprayed. I did try a sample of Dior homme intense before I brought the parfum wasn't a fan. This new one makes it even better for me I love roses.

I have been traveling Europe and was expecting to find it in Paris but didn’t… so when I was just about to give up went in a very small perfumería on Verona Italy and found the last one. 🎉
Never really clicked with the brand as in their ready to wear line but would like to try this scent!
I absolutely love DHP. Tried new vs old side-by-side, and your observations are spot on, at least to my nose. I was thinking part of the brightness difference might be associated with my old version aging a bit. I do love and wear them both.
Hey Sebastien, great review as always. For me the 75ml original Dior Homme Parfum had some serious longevity when worn. Is the new version the same? I'm based in the UK but I can't see anyone selling the 75ml anymore, I'm quite sad I only managed to get one bottle of the original

I think people saying it smells or performs worse is just paranoia honestly, with maybe a bit of maceration (I think mine got a little darker-smelling over the months too, it can happen as a fragrance oxidizes).
@@TheCiastek63 yeah i bought the regular Dior Homme 2020 EDT and i like that. It lasts for like 5-8 hours? Maybe more if weather isn't so cold. But honestly the Parfum i tried of the original version lasted like 14+ hours on skin alone. And like 2 weeks on my clothes

Both are very much available here in Qatar. One of my favorite fragrance Iris rose leather n Oud incredible. Will test the new 100ml might add it as a third backup.

Never tried the original, but the new Dior Homme Parfum is a bit too powdery for my taste. And the performance sucks. Becomes a skin scent in an hour.
It shares similarities with miss dior le parfum which is completely discontinued sadly. It was a chypre with oakmoss. I think he added leather etc to it to make it more masculine!

I’m so happy that I got a bottle when I went to Paris, and was excited to see this comparison video for new versus original DHP.
I was worried since they messed up Dior Homme with their reformulation, so hopefully I’ll be able to try the new DHP since I’m a fan of rose.
Great review..I own DHP 2020 I also have the same experience, specially at initial blast it has little more rose and then it quickly goes back to the old formulation. I never own the older formulation but 2020 DHP is the best to have, it last 12hr easily on my skin. One thing I would like to ask you about the coloration of both...do you notice any differences? Also with regards to unavailability in US for DHP, why can't you purchase from European Dior's website and get it shipped to yourself in US?
Dior's European websites won't ship to the USA.

I think the best thing is just waiting for a few months and keep checking the prices
So far I heard some fragrance sites in Europe sale it but it's still really hard even in Europe to get it I heard even in Dior's website it's available only sometimes.
Maybe keep an eye in some forums or Facebook because a few amount of this fragrance I saw it's been sale
But I doubt it everyone like because it's not a way to sample it I guarantee some people it's going to sale it back because of that
So far it's been around 250 the lowest plus you have to pay shipping and taxes

Of course don't smell the same because the longer you have the fragance the bigger the differences whit a fresh batch.

I like very much the old formula...but I have a stomach pain after about an hour spraying it on me. Strange. That's why will never buy it. My favourite was Dior Homme Eau .
I managed to find a 10ml sample of the new Dior Homme Parfum. Never smelled any of them before so can’t wait. One day I will find me a bottle of both.
ive read reviews and comments.. theres a higher percentage of customers being dissapointed in the new reformulations of the dior homme line.. especially dior homme and dior homme intense
Newer DHI is okay and still very close to the old DHI, it's Dior Homme that has taken a completely different route and I'm not a fan.

@@alisilva8244 Version 75ml, not terminated. Sold only in specialized Dior Boutiques in Paris. Regarding longevity, at 75ml and 100ml. it is almost uniform, more than 15 hours on the skin. Hardly anyone needs more.

To my knowledge it is a Dior website exclusive so no shops would carry. You might find it in a Duty Free Dior shop at airports

I have the 75 ml of dior homme parfum and i love it. I love that it is a darker wearing experience. I am not buying the new 100 ml bottle. Also dior homme 2020 is an absolute travesty. Demache should be put in jail for crimes against the fragrence community with that release.

Both are the same as Seb mentioned, there might be some ingredient amped up but overall experience is the same.

Fun Fact: Whilst the batch codes on the bottles vary the formulation codes which are on the boxes are exactly the same, The lady i spoke to in the Dior Boutique in Paris confirmed to me that this means they are the same juice and not reformulated hence the same formulation codes on the 2020 100ml bottles and the older 75ml bottles..
Yes. I have a new 100 ml. bottle with batch 1f01. The aroma and presentation are no different from my old 75ml bottle. This is practically the same perfume.

never tried DHP but have my Zara and saw some reviews said they are comparable!

Less glass, 25ml more juice. Makes sense that it would be lighter given that the bottles are approximately the same size.
Come on Dior release this bad boy for us in the states. I haven't been able to smell the new one. The older version is my favorite men's scent.
I’ve had both and can personally say there is no difference between the 2. It’s honestly just a bigger bottle size. If you go to the Reddit forum, someone is selling the 100ml size, a little expensive but it’s there.
Wish I could find a bottle of parfum, they have some on eBay but I’m not sure if I trust the authenticity
Haven't tried 100ml yet, however I did find differences among 75ml different batches one being more animalic than the others.
Still can’t get a full bottle anywhere in Australia retail 😕. I have two 10ml samples one from 2014 & one from 2018 both smell amazing and the 2014 is defiantly more dense & lasts few hours longer on skin . Both are over 10 hr mark on my skin . I would love to get a full bottle but people are charging way too much for it .
My favourite designer and one of my all time favorites! I have a 2014 first batch and a 2018.. I never tried the new one but it's good to know that there is an option if i run out.. thanks for the video! 🙂
