I have a limit on the space my books can take up and no double stacking on shelves😮. Try to just hit a certain number of books per day you will pass on for someone else to enjoy. Before long it’s a habit and you have reached your goal. You’ve inspired me to get up and move more so I hope I helped some here.
Glad I found you! You seem far more relatable than other book rec creators on TH-cam. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of more authors. I’ve been a fiend for audiobooks, lately. PS Pieces of Her is a series on Netflix. It’s good! I’m pretty sure everything good that’s being released on Netflix these days are from books that I wish I would’ve read/listen to 😂
It makes me very happy to see someone smart enough to know when enough is enough. I’m always amazed when I hear someone complain about all the books they have that they haven’t read, then the next video is a gigantic book haul. Good for you.
I used to work in a library and processed new books so I always had more books at one time then I could possibly read. I'm lucky I read library books or I would spend a fortune. I'm nearly 60 now and have no desire to reread most books. There are too many on my TBR list to go back. 😂
I think you're right to pass the books on by either selling or donating. That way, they can go to someone else who will enjoy them. As to your book purchases--I would just consider that to be a donation to literacy in general. 😉
Thanks for entertaining us with your love for reading and for your fun personality!
How do I get in the frame of mind to unhaul?…..Well, I’ve been around the block more times than one with buying a ton of books over time, filling a whole bookcase+, donating or yard-selling them, and being like “Why do I do that!” That was a long time ago! Then iPads came in to being….and then/now reading all my fiction novels on Apple Books and only buying the occasional hard copy of an important-to-me non-fiction. Problem solved. And, then, I started, recently wanting to collect first edition, hard copies, signed books by some of my favorite authors. And IF I only stick to buying those then I should pretty much always be fine and never need to unhaul. But, then I became enamored with BOTM and Aardvark and I love them, which was like a gateway drug into going to B&N and buying more books, because BOOKS! I LOVE THEM! Now, full circle, I realize I don’t want to have a bazillion physical books. Space is an issue, etc. SO, I’ve reigned it back in to only getting those hardback, first edition, signed copies of true favorites that I can feasible store beautifully “forever”. So, that’s my story and game plan! Fingers crossed I can stick to it! You’re doing great Audrey! Your videos are ALL MUST-WATCH for me!
Ps. I just finished Close-Up by PiP Drysdale and the end was superb. The rest was very slow burn. ❤❤
I love the way vintage books smell
Me too! 🤣
I do too.
I have a copy of Robin Hood someone got for Xmas in 1942 I found in our local little free library and man I love that book it’s falling apart but it’s definitely been well loved ❤
@@Magdalena287 that’s beautiful
It's so satisfying!
I agree, Jen Lancaster is so funny. I read all her non fiction years ago and since unhauled them, but they’re so good. My big unhauls were the result of moving, so there’s that way😊. What I’m doing now is after I read a book if I don’t think I’ll reread it I donate it to my library. My problem is curbing the buying of books. I’ve had a serious talk with myself and vow this coming year will be different.
We’ll see.....
I love smelling old books and new books! I'm glad I'm not the only weirdo! 🤣🤣🤣 I tend to be a mood reader too! The Thursday Murder Club series IS SOOO GOOD! You have to read it!!
I'm always doing this!!! Even my daughter has started to do it too!!😂
We can all be book smelling weirdos together 💕
You may want to read 'Cop Town' by Karin Slaughter. I've read a few of hers, but that one stands out to me.
The way I I rewatched that bookmark find. 😂😂😂
I liked Night Circus, because it was one of the first books I read after going through the loss of my son. It was the beginning of me getting back into reading again. So I thought I'd like Starless Sea which I HATED!
From one mom to another I’m so sorry for you loss ❤
We have a library in my condo building which is where I donate books. If I read book and don't like it, I bring it downstairs. I've come to realize I don't like "new" books, which I'm starting to think new ( to me) is anything written in the 2000s unless written by my favorite authors. So, I'm nervous about reading my BOTM books. They might get unhauled. Last night I finished Gone Girl - it will probably end up downstairs.
Just say no to ruthlessness, I love to roll on my books and embrace them 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha!!!! I kind of love that!
I dnf night circus and still have friends😂
Haha! It gets so much love but I just never wanted to read it....eek!
I ordered 2 books online while on a CRUISE! So I understand the whole FOMO thing where I have to preorder books as soon as I hear about them. I couldn't even wait 3 more days til I got home.......
I legit love this so much!!! I did order books when I was on my last work trip, but you have me beat!!!
I dnf’d Night Circus and Divine Rivals. Broke up with Emily Giffen quite a while ago.
Okay I feel better now 🙃
I’m here to see STAGS in the box lol
Oh she already left the building in the last round -- I found out it was a 5-book series. Yikes!
What! You never read Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter, oh my heart. You are not a true Slaughter fan. I thought you were dark and twisted.🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️💔
Keep the other woman if you haven’t gotten rid of these yet!
