Thinking about trying out this build for sure. I like the Refuerzos as well making those columns a lot more threatening. Do you think you would try out Caedwalla in the deck at all when the trial deck comes out? Feel like searching for 2s and 3s would be very helpful to find Maple, Thegreas, Refuerzos, Arthen, etc.

Very interesting deck profile. Thank you for this. I'm still particularly new to competitive vanguard so BRO was the first big tournament I ever joined. I actually played AO region with my own build of thegrea just for the fun of it. Personally, I thought I was coping thinking the deck could be good until I saw you topping EU with it. What are your thoughts on other card choices like Fionnuala or Felicida? I always thought thegrea was super slow going 2nd so I ended up using them.

Cool to hear you found the deck profile interesting. Thegrea is indeed quiet slow, but that's one of the main reason why you want to play aggresive with your g2 units early on in the game, otherwise you can come into the problem where you don't finish the game off in time.
I was thinking about Fionnuala/Felicida but i decided not to use them. The main reason for why i didn't use Fionnuala is that i really want to rush with my g2 since i can repopulate the board with them either way. This means she is essentially a dead card, since a g2 will be in front of her most of the time which deactivates her own skill. This becomes especially true at the first g3 turn, where you will resurrect maple from drop + the call you get from Thegrea which makes the board too clunky to fully use the g1 after that point. The only way i see where the card is better is when you draw it very early on in the game, but you don't have the deck space to put the card multiple times in the deck. Maybe as a 1/2 off, but then the likeliness of drawing the card is low, which then again means i get more uses out of the other g1 i run.
For why i don't run Felicida is quiet simple. The ride line g1 + Thegrea brick hard on g3. They want to call out g2 or less units, which makes seeing a bunch of g3 not worth it. This is especially true when you think about the fact you already need to run a minimal 6 g3 in deck for your persona ride and then i run 2 Refuerzos on top of that. This already makes it quiet bricky to the point where i didn't get any value out of the ride line g1 + Thegrea skills in some of my games. Also Felicida cost's cb 2 which is super heavy, because you also need to use a CB for thegrea, which makes it a CB3 cost. You generally want to stay at low damage at possible, so i don't want to be forced to 4 damage at my persona ride turn to only get 1 card advantage out of it. I think it's a too high costed card for what the deck wants to accomplish, so that's the reason why i don't want to run it.
Hopefully this has answered you questions :)

I can definitely see your point. I believe I used Fionnuala since I liked the idea of having a possible 18k beater that can also be an 8k booster. There were times where I thought I wanted a booster for a g2 rear guard during a persona turn since 20k wasn't safe from a defensive trigger. I also think at the time, I was prioritizing hitting them as fast as I can especially going second since Fionnuala could do that on the first turn. However, I did make the mistake of cutting a painkiller for a Fionnuala. I had games where I wished I would see the painkillers more often.
As for Felicida, I didn't notice how clunky the deck could get until BRO. During that time, I still thought my gameplan revolved around using Felicida for the strong turn 4. I thought it was important since it made the vanguard quintuple drive which opened more chances for triggers. I even ran a 1 off of Reedy which made triggers 15k on drive check. Altho, I was too committed to it that I would deliberately set myself up for 4 damage even when the card wasn't in my hand. Not only does it brick on g1 + Thegrea skills, you can also just draw into them. I ran 10 g3s in the deck and I can attribute my round 8 loss to drawing too many of them. I ran only one light thegrea in the main deck to make space for 3 Felicida which lowered the possibility of fetching other cards from soul using the rideline like using g1 thegrea to get back the pg I used last turn. It was also during BRO I realized Felicida isn't that important in the deck's playstyle. I went 2nd 6/8 rounds and only pulled off the Felicida setup once on a game I lost to. Even so, I won 5/8 games which was surprising to me. The real glaring problem I can see with Felicida is the prison matchup. I saw your featured match with OtakaG who was playing prison (Btw, great job on that match despite the loss, it was amazing to see thegrea be able to optimize the board so much that the seraph player only had pseudo persona ride turns). Using Felicida there would've definitely given the prison player a better turn with the lack of resources I could possibly use for the freeing of units from prison. While I would only use Felicida for certain matchups, I can see cutting it out for a more cohesive game plan.
Thanks so much for replying so quickly. I really like Thegrea as a deck and seeing it topping was such a huge inspiration I wanted to play it again for EU and NA. Too bad I only signed Thegrea for AO since I wasn't confident. I hope I can learn from the mistakes and perform better.
