Probably one of the only times, too! (Unless I'm mistaken... which I probably am)! 😜🤪😜🤪! Man...these were some great times! Now, Eddie Marlin, Jerry Jarrett, and Lance Russell, have sadly all passed away, and unfortunately, Jerry "The King" Lawler hasn't been in very good health lately, having suffered a Heart Attack back in 2012, and then having a Stroke, back sometime within the past couple of years or so. The ol' Country Song is right, though...Time Marches On.
Ol' Jerry knew how to stick it to Lance Russell, that's for sure! Lance knew that Jerry was just ribbin' him though....being that they went by scripts, and that that's just the way it was. These two were kinda like Father and Son backstage, though.
@@dickmarx1298If there's anybody that could agree with that statement, that's currently wrestling, that'd be Dominick Mysterio, Rey Mysterio's Son, over in WWE! He draws NUCLEAR HEAT! Big-Time!!!
Ol' Jerry "The King" Lawler sure could pop a mean interview, couldn't he? The Man had a mean streak a mile wide, when he was upset. He flip-flopped so much between face and heel, it reminded ya of a stack of Pancakes! Jerry "The King" Lawler, and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair were both the same way. They could really pull on your heart-strings, when they wanted you to support 'em, but when they turned heel, they'd stomp all over those heart-strings! They played us, time and again!
Some people need to beat people to turn heel. All Lawler required was to talk about Lance Russell's looks or his suit and give a little peek behind the curtain about Jerry Jarrett. Sometimes it required a little more. Sometimes a little less. But The King always got the job done.
You think about it, too...these two probably talked about this stuff, backstage. I truly don't believe that it was anything personal... just business. Lance and Jerry were, in actuality, very dear friends, in their private lives. They just did what they had to do, in order to keep the TV Ratings up. After all, in reality, Eric Bischoff was right-Controversy Creates Cash!
When Wrestlers AND Announcers knew how to make it real....now the announcers are robots who dont respond and wrestlers so scripted I realize I can be an actor
I can see where Eddie Gilbert idolized Jerry Lawler at the 3:50 mark of this video. It is something Eddie wanted to be like Jerry instead his old man Tommy.
I still remember Jimmy Hart doing that song that he made up, called "Lance Russell's Nose". They had some really wild times in this Wrestling Organization, that's for sure! Jerry "The King" Lawler and "The Superstar" Bill Dundee alternately feuded with each other/Teamed with each other more times, than you can shake a stick at!
back then they didn't always make the best heel turns because it wasn't necessary to do so, its in the weeks that follow that they used their charisma to pull off the heel gimmicks
Shoutout Gunn for choosing this clip as a sample
I been waiting on a comment like this that was legendary alone 🔥🔥
his samples are so insane
What can you expect? I was fighting two world champions that night
what song is it?
@@thelawsonman Celine dion from HWH 8 Side B
Here from Westside's Celine Dion song BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Facts id been looking for this
He needs to be teaching promo class for heels and babyfaces at the WWE performance center.
YEAH!!!!
Wwe is a joke.
Even as a heel the fans were STILL cheering him lol. He was just way too beloved. He was just way too good.
Jerry Lawler back in the day was up there with the best when it comes to promos.
Everyone was cheering for him, despite being a heel. He was just that damn good.
"In your heart, you know I'm right."
I LOL'd for that Barry Goldwater reference.
Lawler was most likely the best promo in the history of all professional wrestling.
The King Is Definitely Top 5/10 On The Mic All Time In The History Of Professional Wrestling…And His In Ring Work Was Excellent Too
First time I've ever seen Lawler wear tights with TWO straps.
IKR great heel
And he wore regular trunks in the early 70's.
Probably one of the only times, too! (Unless I'm mistaken... which I probably am)! 😜🤪😜🤪!

I'm glad to see Lawler's back, Especaily after seeing his front hahahaha
Cheap heat is the best heat lmao

Lolz. That All in The Family moment exposed! Classic Jerry Lawler. Classic Memphis wrestling.
Where was the toilet flush?
@@altfactor Eddie Marlin of course! 😂😂😂😂😂
This was sort of a work shoot because Lawler was really pissed about some stuff Jarrett was doing behind the scenes
His house was smaller Jerry Lawler was hurt
And he was pretty much right. Often when he left Memphis business dropped.
The King brings it on the stick. Not many come close
When Wrestlers AND Announcers knew how to make it real....now the announcers are robots who dont respond and wrestlers so scripted I realize I can be an actor
I can't even stomach today's wrestling or the commentating
Well Cathy Kelly and Renee Young were pretty good.

Lawler called the audience "idiots." That makes us idiots, including me, too. Why do I love that?
LOLOL. I need Jerry to call me a moron every now and then to keep me grounded.
Calls them idiots and they still cheer him. Thats how much they love The King.
BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM
Lance Russell was the best
Lance did a great job keeping Roger Clemens in check.
Lmao
Those two do kind of reminds you of each other now you mentioned it lol
They're gonna make a ruling you gotta wear a mask. Oops the King made a prophecy

Man i love when they talk trash about Eddie Marlon
Ayo 😎
I up the steel I’m like Phil Drummond BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
One of the main reasons Lawler did not become World Champion is he made just a much money in the Memphis territory as a World Champion
Jerry chased and chased Nick Bockwinkle.....
FLYGOD

Looks like jontron
I still don’t think you,can teach someone to talk like this…maybe talk a little better, but this is all natural…

Not the best turn

That interviewer is no mean gene Oakerland, thats for sure
Glad for that.mean gene was a hokey overseller at times.
I swear, Lance Russell has got to be one the worst, if not the worst, commentator of all time.
Lance Russell is great. Let me guess, you probably think Michael Cole is the best. Smh.
@@aaronlusanko8779Yup. The same Michael Cole who drones on: "John Cena is the greatest of all time, John Cena is the greatest of all time!".
You must be joking Lance was the best lol
