I have an OMM rack on the back of my fatbike. Holds up to the abuse. I did a 4 day tripped loaded with packraft, hatchet, etc ridden on rough terrain. Nice to have equipment you can count on.
Curious... What wheel/spoke/hub setups to consider to hold this weight? Guessing rider + bike + 70lb of gear + other rack/ gear means pushing in the 300lb total range...
Hi Ray, good question! Modern wheels are incredibly strong, so building up a "touring specific" wheelset is not as essential as it used to be. Most modern 28h wheelsets should be plenty strong enough but if your wheels were marketed as a lightweight wheelset it could be worth checking your owners manual. Most wheels will have a weight limit listed. Even something like the Roval Alpinist, a very lightweight climbing wheelset has a 275lb weight limit and that is designed for the exact opposite use of a touring wheelset.
@@RobertAxleProject well, that's disappointing then. I just bought a rack from you 18th August 2021 and the Classic (previously Sherpa) was all that was on offer on your web site. I'd have appreciated a heads up that there was a new model due for release. I'm not unhappy with the rack, it's fitted and I am preparing for an 800km non-stop race at the end of the month, but I'd have appreciated the option to go for the new model.

Glad you like it! I just watched your video from that trip. Beautiful area!
Does anybody know what's the model of the mountain bike?
For that mtb build. What handlebars are those.
Idk
Can be used in a carbon fat bike?
What exactly are the differences between the Divide and the Classic (Sherpa)?
Why not show rear?
They look strong. I've got a Tumbleweed Prospector frame running 3.8" fat tyres. With disc brakes. Do you have a model that fits?
Absolutely. Our Divide Fat models will fit great

Is this just a new name for the Sherpa rack? Or is it actually different? Thank you.
This is an all new rack built on our experience using the classic rack for the past 25 years!
