Excellent performance!, for me Jack is one of the best musicians of this time, and with Lazaretto shows that the music is not just marketing, is make it real and plasm your feelings. Congrats Jack, you did out again...
Haha the drummer's expression at 2:39 was the exact same expression I had when I first heard this song. That "stank face" you give when a song is so dirty that you can't help but go "ugggh!"
Like Zappa, most people aren't understanding his music mainly because he is constantly changing style and experimenting. However, watching this I get the sense he got upset with the ending and took it out on the drummer who for one was position wrong and lost eye contact. Jack likes control and often signals with his guitar neck. Look as he exits the stage leaving his guitar on feedback. It is what it is, cant win em all. I love the guys venturous nature and creativity. The most interesting artist in my opinion. Hope he has another break out soon.
wow, never noticed that till now. Daru Jones is an amazing drummer, but I guess Jack didn't like how he kept going with the ending. you can see Jack yell at him right before it cuts away from his face at around 4:16. he was ready to end that note and he wasn't getting it lmao. that's why the violinist with the long hair was making that face. the lady backstage was in shock too. watched this dozens of times and hair noticed this all now from your comment.
+Smiling Dog +xX_Gabe_Xx +Zeina C thank you guys for helping me noticing that. Some are claiming that this is all just a PR stunt, but it doesn't really seem like it.. and even if it is - it made the whole performance so much more powerful (even more than it already was - that means a lot), Jack White truly is a genius.
Yeah!!!!!!!! White is an alchemist. He takes chords and notes and spins magic. Best fuckin' rock song writer since Pete Townshend. Some people just know how to make great music. Thanks Jack for keeping RnR alive and well.
Noone seems to understand that White's playing is not about technique, skills or sounding good at all. It's about the roughness that he has on his fingers the moment he is playing. He is by no means acknowledged for his guitar skills or his voice but for his raw performances and the vibe he gives out.
Jack White is in the top 20 (landing in 14) best Blues guitar players of all time according to musicradar and is #70 in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists. I agree with the rawness in his music and his vibe, I saw him last week and blew my mind. But yeah, he is pretty acknowledged for his guitar skills.
People who are complaining about him being hammered/stuff being out of tune are clearly unfamiliar with The White Stripes. This fucker played different notes on the piano for Icky Thump in almost every song and to the normal ear, they sounded absolutely horrible. But this is exactly what I love about Jack White, he's different from other rock acts because his shit is just a messy combination of awesome guitar solos and I-really-don't-give-a-fuck vocals.
+Arta K That's what people don't like. He doesn't give a fuck, so why should we? If he fucks over the crowd live, he's not worth to watch. His music is still great, though. But I just decided that I would never watch him live.
Tristansfn The deal is, that's what SOME people don't like, who can obviously do some background research like this and decide not to go. But others may enjoy that shit, the crowd might actually be there to see exactly THIS.
I wish the camera men/editor had focused more on Lillie Mae during that dual fiddle solo rather than just Fats Kaplin, from what I heard/saw, she was doing a lot cooler stuff. Plus ain't she just purty?
I love negative comments on these threads from unknown guitarists who have never put out cool records and wipe down their guitars with guitar polish after every use and put their vintage Guitar Player Magazines in plastic. Nor have they ever been to the South to find the source of rock and roll and it’s purist form or intentions. Nor can they improvise on a dime and tap into spiritual magic that is far from perfect. Everyone has their version of music and this is mine. Good luck writing vocal melodies that resonate with millions guitar snobs of TH-cam
Nice to see an audience listening, enjoying and dancing to the music instead of holding up a bunch of camera phone and/or screaming non-stop in the performer's face. Obviously, this isn't in the U.S.
+rodentcafeteria yes he has stated in several interviews that a concert requires group participation. He feeds off the crowds energy so if they are just standing around with cell phones like androids he doesn't know how to perceive that or how to work with that! And that makes perfect sense.
+Jessica Ann I'm old school, so it makes perfect sense to me, too. But try telling that to the thousands and thousands of androids that attend concerts these days. I wonder why they even bother going?
I know right? I look at kids today as victims of society. They wouldn't be this way without the technology just like we weren't that way. I really don't envy school age kids with all the social media. When I was growing up it was cool to be different. Times have changed though.
Two fiddles in the same group. I have never seen this. Since Jefferson Airplane with Papa John Creach any important group has used violin in this rockway. Awesome. Look for "feel so good" Jefferson Airplane (Record thirty second over winterland)
Riley Jordan the little glitches remind me of a future impact as I use one and it sounds really similar, it could either be that or a deep impact but I don't know of any other synth pedals that make those glitchy sounds so often
You know what, Jack White is one of my absolute heroes and this set was abysmal. Self indulgent, pissed up trash. He could have kicked the shit out of that slot but he just got arseholed instead.
Because it’s a version made to look and sound as good as possible (it does that amazingly). Jack White does whatever he wants live. That’s what makes it interesting, other than the fact that the music is also amazing.
Jack White has a great band behind him, probably the highlight of this Glastonbury for me so far.
The number of likes you have look like Jack White’s logo
he is a wierdo, and he has a bunch of extremely talented wierdos behind him... i love them all
I saw them all arriving in the tour bus inside sharing a joint. Classy...
That's just being awesome :-D
***** Jack says he has never smoked marijuana.. I doubt that one's true sorry. He's still awesome regardless.
Yeah he^ is right, Jack said he's never done drugs
That's what happens with artists. Artists just can't think like everybody else..
Love the fact that jack just plays what ever way he feels at the time and is always experimenting with music.
That "stank face" you give when a song is so dirty that you can't help but go "ugggh!"
too
I watch this video at least one a month. JW is greatness, the drummer is an add bonus.
Bunch of haters in these comments. I love everything the man does, he is a legend in my house!

Yes I'm with you!
2:38 drummer's face is great
ikr? hahahaha
The riff is too nasty
*STANK*
Melting face
Love the rawness and bubbling chaos of this version
drummer at 2:38 "this shit is gonna get wild son"
STANK.
I love his drummer! such passion and style!
yes i do too..he makes me laugh the way he is beating the drums
Anyone notice at the end instead of ending it in one final note the drummer kept going and Jack looked like he was about to kick his ass.
yess lmao
Yes, Jack looked very pissed
Daru taught Lars a few tricks he’s never seen before…
He reminds me so much of Led Zeppelin. He killed it. This guy's awesome.
Like Zappa, most people aren't understanding his music mainly because he is constantly changing style and experimenting. +Zeina C u guys are right. the drummer didnt see Jack holding up his guitar ready to end
+Smiling Dog +xX_Gabe_Xx +Zeina C thank you guys for helping me noticing that. whoa you guys are awesome
Legend. Fighting his own way. Answer to no one. No better example of this since Prince himself.
agree and totally relate to jack and prince for making music their own way and answering to no man
Really exciting to watch Jack live-- he's entrancing, and his band has great energy
That was a sick performance. Mr White i salute you.
Jack white is a living legend.
Jack White playing a solo? better switch to a girl with a hulahoop
+Jordan Gilmore we want more of the hula girl!!!!!!
so Remy Lacroix?
seriously, WTF? lol
The solo sucked tbh
600th like
Yeah!!!!!!!! White is an alchemist. He takes chords and notes and spins magic. Best fuckin' rock song writer since Pete Townshend. Some people just know how to make great music. Thanks Jack for keeping RnR alive and well.
Heard his songs but never really thought much and now I think he's great !!!
hammered jack white is my favorite jack white
Jack White and the Black Keys put on a killer performance, what a brilliant Glastonbury festival
Hahaha, I see what you did there.
His drummer always makes me so happy.
That drummer is loving it.
Jack White , vastly becoming best guitarist is the world seen him live in France , bisouuu , awesome ,,,
hahaha that male violinist with the long hair is just like: "fuck everybody"
His name is Fats Kaplin, what a great name.
that made me laugh as well🤣

You nailed it, that's exactly what JW3 is all about!!!
Nicolas Reza 17 at rolling stones
he's considered ONE of many best guitar players around period. I didn't say THE best but he's in a top league make no mistake about it
Is voice was very good, not as good now but it was
Loved this performance and I didn't expect Bradley Cooper and Lars Ulrich in the end 😂😂😂
Such a talented band, With or without Meg! Love both Jack and The White Stripes
I like this song live better than I do on the CD. Going to get to see him in September at Music Midtown. Super excited.
That little break at 1:30 sold me
Gyozomroka
I sometimes wonder, who carries the dudes in the crowd on their shoulders... Their buff ass boyfriends or their Russian wives?
Hahahahahahahaha
It's the friends who are too pissed to realise that it's a bad idea to carry their 15 stone mates in a crowd XD
i personally find carrying someone on my shoulders too easy :P
ManlyTeddybear but you are a Manly teddy bear... carrying people is kind of your job!? of course, I could be mistaken..
Antoniceys ikr😂.... SEEN THAT!!!! wwttff

He's fuckin amazing live
+Tristansfn obviously he does give a shit, why would he tour and pick great musicians to play w him?
Dirty Frog"I-really-don't-give-a-fuck vocals" - Dirty Frog 2k15

@@onoyudont Dad!?
I wish the camera men/editor had focused more on Lillie Mae during that dual fiddle solo rather than just Fats Kaplin, from what I heard/saw, she was doing a lot cooler stuff.
Plus ain't she just purty?
Shane Fell It's the moustache.
very purty, glad I finally found her name hahaha
Fats Kaplin is the real deal in this "duel" and it's showed even in the music video.
Mars Ulrich and Bradley Cooper 4:23???????????????
Sure was. He seemed to love it.
'Mars Ulrich' lmao what a name
Well now you did hun! Its kinda cool to see actually lol!
I didn't know that Lars Ulrich has a twin named Mars.
Woops lol... MARS!!!
This looks like an amazing show
Jack and his band have such a distinct aesthetic here they look like they can be the main antagonists of a shonen anime 😂
Sounds amazing! Strong and caotic.
Definitely getting this album!
Not only is this beautiful but the violinist dude has much style.
Fats Kaplin is a legend
Come on BBC - Upload it in HD !
That drummer is f awesome
Simply fantastic!
Ha! Daru's face at the breakdown is awesome!
2:45 At least the drummer isn't in the wrong gig xD
C. Rust Muahaahahaha
C. Rust Love that drummer, long life to Daru Jones!
Love that bass

have got to see him again
The drummer knows what he is doing
Wow, he's soooo high!
drunk
both :)
***** say hello to him for me next time you hang out...the guy was clearly wasted mate.
Henry Watts He doesn't even look drunk, I think you're over-exaggerating a bit
He is drinking a bottle of what looks to be Champagne throughout the whole gig. You can tell he is a bit drunk but whatever he rocked it!
Just realized that Lars Ulrich was watching at the backstage.
H
Haha I see what you did there
agun wiriadisasra is that Bradley fucking cooper beside him???
Itachi Uchiha He surely looks like him. But I'm not so sure it's him.
agun wiriadisasra wonder what he thought about it.
That was so bad ass lol, hell yeah.
Who needs dub step when you have jack white on guitar fucking amazinh
graham white Why not have both?
Jack White rules!!!!
Nice to see an audience listening, enjoying and dancing to the music instead of holding up a bunch of camera phone and/or screaming non-stop in the performer's face. Obviously, this isn't in the U.S.
Jack has a thing about people bringing cell phones to concerts. He asks that people don't do it, and this crowd obviously respected that.
+Jessica Ann I don't blame him. Kudos to the crowd for respecting his request.
+rodentcafeteria yes he has stated in several interviews that a concert requires group participation. He feeds off the crowds energy so if they are just standing around with cell phones like androids he doesn't know how to perceive that or how to work with that! And that makes perfect sense.

Two fiddles in the same group. I have never seen this. Since Jefferson Airplane with Papa John Creach any important group has used violin in this rockway. Awesome.

4:23 so nice
the drummer has no mercy for his set :)
Awesome 😎
Grandioso! Lo veremos para Rocktubre en el CC14
Someone please enlighten me on his bass effects. Never realized how cool they were until this live video.
Riley Jordan the little glitches remind me of a future impact as I use one and it sounds really similar, it could either be that or a deep impact but I don't know of any other synth pedals that make those glitchy sounds so often
What a Rock Star, Senor White~ #Rockandroll
Awesome!!! Is that Ellie Goulding at 0:56?
You know what, Jack White is one of my absolute heroes and this set was abysmal. Self indulgent, pissed up trash. He could have kicked the shit out of that slot but he just got arseholed instead.
Lars at backstage !!! Soo cool!
I love how Fats (the gentleman with mustache) looks like "wtf I'm doing here, I hate those people"
2:35 explose my world
Maybe it's just me but i much prefer the video for this song.
Because it’s a version made to look and sound as good as possible (it does that amazingly). Jack White does whatever he wants live. That’s what makes it interesting, other than the fact that the music is also amazing.
3:37 Bandeira do Brasil. Jack White e banda arrasando e estávamos lá 🇧🇷👏👏👏

Awesome
