Yeah it was weird considering he punched Terry on his 2nd episode when he was going for Sean and nearly floored him and was always ready to start trouble with him but then a couple of years later got punched and thrown out of the cafe by him with no retaliation.
Terry wasn't fazed at all by Cain's usual bullyboy tactics in his first stint. He dealt with Cain rather easily too a couple of years later. They can try to rewrite the character as much as they want like they did when he returned in 2009 but back in this first stint Terry owned Cain.

Grant could have had, individually, Warren Fox, Jack Branning, Alf Stewart, Kush Kazemi, Cain Dingle, Vincent Hubbard, Dennis Rickman, Barry Grant and Jim McDonald. Grant was a true beast, he was not invincible but he was a true tough nut, he had about 3 or 4 coppers in 1993 and it took a whole team to arrest Grant.

Terry was tough and fearless but he could be very inconsistent too, he fought evenly with Bob and got punched by him on another occasion and got floored with a backhand off pensioner Alan Turner

It makes absolutely no sense for Cain to be weaker in his first stint than his future stints. Not to mention in his first stint, he floored Jack Sugden and Scott Windsor who were both harder than Terry (if not on the same level as him).

Scott was hard too, the only people he ever lost to were Cain and Zak, and he was fully capable of beating Marlon in a fight. Terry Woods got decked by Bob Hope.

I would say Cain, Driver was huge but he didn’t have any remarkable feats apart from surviving a bullet to the head.
