How is the bag holding up?

Just got the exact one Mountainback Canvas Front Pockets through Dave's Deals. Waited for a while catch a deal on this. Very nice and I use it to carry and commute to and back from the university. Inside the bag will be headphones, macbook pro 13" or 15", leather travelers notebook, water bottle, powerbank, etc. Very cool canvas bag.

Just discovered this brand - do they do Dave’s deals often?

I have a Saddleback wallet that's 7 years old, they are great, but company left a sour taste in my mouth when they raised prices between 50-100% in one day

What is the brand name of the insert bag you use to store the camera? Perfect fit

@5:24 these bags are built in the US? Don't think so... I've owned a considerable amount of saddleback products and there was only ever production out of Texas for a brief period that I'm aware of. I'm considering this bag and I appreciate the review.
Good catch on warning people about the exposed refits. These bags are unlike anything else. The exposed perimeter stitching is about the only pitfall... can catch and break on things.

Thank you for that review. I'm struggling between the large canvas bag an the front pocket bag. Bc I live in Germany, I won't make purchase since there is a 'send-back-risk'. There is no comparison video online :-(

How is the colour with dirt? Does it change colour on places most prone to smudge?

That's a good question. It's looking very good with some dirt on it.

This bag was my daily for about two years. Ultimately it’s incredibly heavy and was causing back issues (I’m 37 and quite fit). It weighs a metric ton with a laptop and other items. Going for the backpack this round except I hate drawstrings on bags. Otherwise I miss it dearly as nothing else is built this way.

So I just recently got my canvas Indiana bag. I like it but a couple of things i have noticed is the leather should pad is quite stiff. The shoulder pad could be half as thick as what it is. The leather panel on the side for the pocket is also very thick. Is there anyway to make the leather give more mainly on the shoulder pad. Maybe i should just bend it for a while to break it in? It's a nice bag but over priced at $250. The most this bag should be is $200. Great review by the way!

Would like to see it get tested in muddy environments with the bag loaded with wrenches and sockets and other assortment of tools.

I thought about that. But, at under $500.00 bucks I didn't think anyone would ever be utilizing it like that.

I think It could probably take lot of abuse considering that tow ropes are made of a pretty dense weave.

This bag might give my files on bag a run for its money.

Ask the bootguy question: Do you know of any reliable devices (Under $40) to capture back-up audio and try to re-sync in post-production, should the initial audio fail? I keep finding problems with the audio I'm capturing half the time, making the footage nearly useless.

I know of nothing in the $40 range. Personally I use a tascam handheld to capture my audio. That device was $300 plus. But it aslo allows me to plug in multiple XLR mics at one time. Video production on a budget can be done. It will always have that budget look and sound. Even when I am shooting in my studio space I have two cameras and two mics going just to be safe. It might be time for the boot guy to shot a few " How to make a video for TH-cam" videos.

Looks like a well made bag... Just a little too trendy and expensive for my taste... There are a ton of really good bags out there of similar quality for half the price... or less...
