if it wasn't for Steve Dahl and the disco demolition then the eighties wouldn't be what it later became, reasons for this is because he was responsible for the beginning of the eighties culture by pushing disco aside and letting pop and new wave move on through.

I was at disco demolition. what an experience! They were supposed to give us a discount for bringing an album but the line we were in wouldn't take them so everybody just brought their album into the stadium. Then people started throwing them like frisbees. I completely understand how your friend got hurt. Disco still sucks!

This was a fantastically civil debate on a subject I used to stand firmly on one side of. That would be Steve and Garry’s. Overall I still believe if you raise children properly then they will have the wherewithal to discern between good and bad in the media…. But my god has it gotten out of control over the last decade or two. Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears has nothing on the drill rap and moral-less debauchery of pop stars of today.

Steve Dahl is an ass to do what he did. And the result of throwing disco into the trash and burning it, while it may have been going out os style, the brilliance of The BeeGees remains. What this burning theatrics did was bring out the racism in so many in the country. When he suggested the burning of disco records. most of the reoccurs that were brought to be thrown into the fire were albums by wonderful African American performers. It's an interesting and sad reflection of this country. Really, not much has changed.

You clearly don't understand the difference between comedy and satire and the "hate and ignorance" you speak of. Revisionist history bullshit! Were you even around in 1979 to know? Disco Demolition was a comedy bit, a popular culture culture-clash over a music fad, nothing more, the rest is in your imagination!

I'm here to tell you that the reverend was absolutely right. Rock n roll music definitely is worse than heroin. I lost my job, home and family due to rock music. I've overdosed multiple times, even flatlined. Only through the infinite power of Jebus, was I able to finally to rid myself of my thirst for this demonic music. I'm proud to say that I've been rock free for 28 years and 22 days. I just need to keep going to my RAA meetings, where I can get continual support. If somebody offers you rock n roll, just say NO. Praise Jebus!!
