The reverse thing happened to me. My husband decided to watch the movie. As soon as I heard the song, I said, "Wait a minute!" I had been watching this season of the Singer & recognized the song immediately. Crazy. She's got an incredible voice.

Песня о войне, кукушка (птица, отсчитывающая сколько осталось жить человеку),примета такая у народа.Слушая эту песню у нас сжимаются сердце и кулаки,т.к в каждой семье погибли родные.Россия,никогда не нападет,мы знаем,что такое война и смерть 26 миллионов погибших из них 12 мил.мирных жителей,только к нам не лезьте и все будет мирно! "Битва за Севастополь" все так и было и снайпер настоящая: 360 фашистов уничтожила или больше,могу ошибаться.Воевали все: мужчины,женщины и даже дети,сбегали на фронт,чтобы мстить за своих родных за Родину-МАТЬ!!! А Полина, обожаю ее,она разная,настоящая русская женщина!Спасибо!!!.

Этр правильно,что вначале показали кавер к фильму "Битва за Севастополь".Так иностранцам понятнее , какую эмоциональную нагруку несёт сама песня . Лучшая аранжировка и исполнение, на мой взгляд Браво!

@DancingCoder In the film "The Battle for Sevastopol", the main role of the sniper was played by Julia Peresild. She is now in space (since October 5). The song of Viktor Tsoi (tragically died on August 15, 1990 in a car accident) was performed by Polina Gagarina
Polina has established herself and is one of the great Russian singers in our time. Her version is different than the stripped down, methodical original by Viktor Tsoi (which I adore) but Polina's arrangement is really more suited for a woman singer. You should check out another young Russian singer, Alisa Supronova. She did a cover of Someone like you from Adele. It's awesome, in English and will blow you away. She also did a cover of Cuckoo, and it's equally spectacular to Polina imo. If you want a moving spiritual piece there is nothing more beautiful than Alisa's "My String"

If you are spreading your net a bit wider and catching more Russian singers after Diana, then Pelagaya is an artist to hear. She has a folk/folk rock style but the song I am linking (which I got only recently from the comments of a DA reaction) is more atypical with a strong rock guitar line. Its just up your street I am sure.

Hello! Unfortunately, you don't pronounce Polina Gagarina's last name correctly. Incorrectly put the emphasis. Russian Russian accent is very important for the Russian language and for Russian surnames. In fact, it is very easy to pronounce. She has the same last name as the first cosmonaut of the Earth - Yuri GagArin (of course you know him). Yuri GagArin.
