Tad Williams and GGK are two authors I have every intention of returning to within a year or less. I loved Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn when I read it back in the late 90s or early 2000s, and Tigana left a strong impression on me when I read it somewhere between twenty and thirty years ago as well. So, I'll commence with a reread of those before venturing further into each's backlist. Happy reading, Al!
I’m so excited for you to read The Lions of Al-Rassan! I love Guy Gavriel Kay’s writing and can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Thank you so much for the shoutout! ❤
Hello, Big Al ✌️🙂 I just got introduced to Cormac McCarthy too. The Passenger and Stella Maris, his final works. It's straight-up drama, but pretty intriguing. No much overall happens, yet there's big things to ponder.
Awesome video Big Al! Neil Gaiman leaves a bad taste in the mouth right now, despite being a favorite author of mine. Pillars of The Earth is awesome, highly recommended. I need to read more Cormac McCarthy, after loving The Road. Start with The Terror. I hope you love it! YES, read Swan Song! 🤣 You will love it! Again YES, Ray Bradbury is awesome!
As you can probably tell I was unaware of the controversy when I put this list together a little while ago 🫣. Thanks for inspiring some of these picks mate 👍
Just finished Pillars of the Earth. I enjoyed it and blew through the chunky book in less than a week. I am halfway through Blood Meridian...not sure WTF I am reading! The Road is much better to me.

Thank Philip. I’m excited to join you all in the ‘cool’ crowd of fantasy booktube 😬
Yes, Tad Williams and GGK! 🤩 Also, that is a really nice 90s hardback cover of “The Lions of Al-Rassan”, never seen that one before, awesome!
It’s a beauty for sure and was sooo cheap 😍

I’ll take that as another recommendation, thanks Albert 🫡
Great list! I'm reading Memory, Sorry and Thorn starting in January and think he's an author I'll love as well! I hope you love Connelly!
The Connelly hype is real!
I really enjoyed the first Philip Marlow book by Raymond Chandler. 🙂 Can't wait to read another.
That’s what I love to hear! Cheers Storm 👍
I like Gaiman, McCarthy and Dan Simmons. I love McCammon! Pillars of the Earth has been on my tbr for years now 😵💫 one day!
One day 🫡
Ken Follett is an author who is always recommended to me tonread whenever I get around to fiction. Liked your list and nice vid!
Yeh I think it must be a top fiction recommendation for non-fiction gents like yourself. I’m sure Shogun must get a few votes on that list too 🤔

Chandler is really great! Blood Meridian is great but really bleak 😂
I can handle bleak.. within reason 😬

Wow that is a serious reading pace. Well over 100 pages a day 👏
