The reason you want to do some full charges may be that the Battery Management System only kicks in the balance cycle when you hit full voltage.
If you never get to this point in the charge, you could end up with one set of cells lagging behind the others.
For example, in a 54V battery, there are 15 banks of 3.6V nominal cells in series. Full charge is 4.2. Empty is maybe 3V. Let's say you only charge to 54V. Some of those banks are going to be 3.8V and one will probably be 3.2V after a while. When you discharge to an empty voltage of say 45V, that 3.2V bank will drop to say 2.6V, which is unhealthy, and the BMS may freak out and not charge it.
Extremely easy to do!
I almost always fully charge my scooter battery anyway since I want the longest ride possible but I rarely discharge the battery below 20%.
