    It's nice to see a fellow Ryobi fan reviewing Ryobi fans.

    Just picked up this fan!! Got the deal at home depot, purchase the 18V Lithium Starter Kit (4Ah Battery 2Ah and Charger) for $99.99 and got the Whisper fan for free. My wife and I are heading to Loudon NH Tomorrow morning with our old Lance Legend 880 Truck Camper (boon docking) for the Races and need a fan for over night trying to sleep (its going to be hot). Got the Batteries charging now. Great job on the review!! New Ryobi fan here! I just registered everything with Ryobi and started looking for reviews on the fan, looks like i made a good decision!

      I got the same deal and picked the fan. It’s awesome & the 4AH battery lasts all day for me on setting 1. They definitely got my foot in the door with that deal. I may choose a work light to take fishing 🎣 since I have 2 batteries now.

    I don't think that was a fair comparison. You had the old style fan pointing upwards and didn't lift the windmill high enough.

    I've had 2 of the new ones and they don't last. The blow harder than the old one, but the fan blade starts spinning very slow after a while. My old one still works perfect. I babied the new ones and never dropped it and both quit on me.

    I tested this on my ecoflow and on full blast this new ryobi fan only runs only about 14 watts. That's even far more efficient than my dyson fan. And dyson fans were the most energy efficient before I got the ryobi. I will be this taking it camping this weekend powered by my ecoflow and a solar panel. I can run this thing indefinitely. Hell I might just buy another one. I already have 2 of those ryobi clamp fans but the bigger model is more practical for a few families.

    Pretty handy little fans. I have (I believe the first version) the p3310 and the hybrid p3320.

    My brother has the older model, I just got the new model during Ryobi days, the low setting (1) makes an annoying humming sound but I doubt I'll need to have it on low.

    • @Pro1er
      @Pro1er 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I noticed that droning sound also, pretty annoying. I modified one of my old Ryobi fans for wireless remote control plus more speeds and it makes the same annoying sound at low speed so it must have something to do with the speed controller pulsing the motor.

    Holy crap man, where did you get the ryobi green shoes? Those are pretty cool, as a ryobi nut as well I want a pair. My wife would die if I got some!!!
    FYI, as an engineer I personally love the pin wheel test. Simple but more telling than some $80,000 test to prove the same outcome, great job.

    With the large ecosystem of lifestyle options, I think it's incumbent upon Ryobi to come out with larger batteries. 12ah 18 volt and a 15ah 40 volt.

      I can't speak for the 12 inch but I have the 10 inch and it's an absolute beast. I took it camping and I was cutting through 5 inch diameter branches/trunks like butter. I even cut a roughly 16 inch diameter round to see how it would handle and it was a little sluggish but got the job done

    I have and use the old one. My complaint is thr swivel...when it's on high, the wind speed moves the fan on its swivel and changes position by itself

    • @alcopower5710
      @alcopower5710 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to pop the 2 grey cups off of each side and bear down on the fasteners. Had to do this a few times because I was afraid I would strip the fastener but now it stays in place and doesn’t move on it’s own.

      I've been using mine for months now on the 4amp battery and it'll last the night. if you want to use it for bed, it might turn off in the morning on high setting but on low you'll probably wake up with the fan still on

  • @notmethanks816
    @notmethanks816 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    RPM of the fan tells you NOTHING about how the fan performs. Need to use an anemometer to get real numbers. The "Whisper' crap is just marketing speak to say we are using a five blade propeller vs a three blade. The amount of air moved by a three blade is almost ALWAYS higher than a five blade, however the amount of NOISE is usually higher on a three blade due to the way air moves past the blades. Blade PITCH and SHAPE determine the amount of air actually moved along with noise generated. The size of the blades has nothing to do with the amount of noise generated.
    The problem with most non-professional tests is that they don't really provide any REAL measured data. It is all anecdotal. I have yet to find ANYONE who actually has controlled testing to show REAL numbers: CFM on each setting, energy consumed on each setting along with battery run time.
