for the overhang thing, if you fill in that dumby sector that you left empty for the door and give it a floor height of that indoor hallway area, it should fix it
thanks for all of the doom builder tutorial videos. i've played doom since i was a kid, so it's interesting to see how easy it is to create your own maps.. of course i was inspired by the sheer beauty of myhouse.wad. cheers brother!
I was going to suggest trying to adjust the heights in the dummy sector, but it appears someone beat me to it. Thank you for this quick tutorial. That's a lot easier than I was expecting it to be!
Agh I remembered the anchor, the start spot... and then forgot the line to define it as a polyobject so it wasn't working and I couldn't figure out why. So yeah, good tutorial.
Having a problem with the overhang. my door keeps going to the highest ceiling even though i created 2x52 small door frame? - EDIT made the door-overhang where it swings encompass the whole door, but it looks SO ugly. if you found that fix to not have it do that would love to see another video!
The fix is simple if you follow the video above don't delete the inner part of the door sector. This will allow you to have a bottom and top texture that will be blank. Then you can use the sector properties to set the ceiling and floor height for the door this which will allow you to create like a bathroom door or barn stall door... StuffyJunk commented on it earlier. Hope this explains it.

I did not thank of that but it would work wouldn't it. Thank you for suggesting that!
That was essentally the problem for me, I had to raise the exterior portion that was left filled though instead of the center that had been deleted.

It's funny how easy a lot of things are to do in UDB. But knowing where to find that information can be quite the pain.
When I do this the door doesn't cast any shadow from the dynamic light anymore? anyone know a fix?
Ill use this info wisely
Awesome! Hope so :)

Haha it happens to all of us at times. No big deal! Glad you got it sorted!
I wondered whether this was possible. This suggests an excellent mod opportunity for Fistful of Doom saloon doors.
Much appreciated man!
Thank you!
Awesome!
Thanks!
interesting
Thanks!
dont delete the sector inside the door. then you can scale the size and it is not as big as the room.
