Hi Brian! Have you considered a custom made black panther wrap? Not the movie but like the fur of an actual black panther that’s shows up in the light and not so much if not. I have never seen that but bet it would look amazing! Besides aren’t you a weird cat guy;)

Looks good! The emergency door release is on the back seats by the floor. Little flap in the carpet. Let us know if you find out what those light wires are for on the trim. Would be awesome if they actually had lights there.

Great video. I’ve wrapped a model Y and 3 myself and now waiting on my model s. I’ve struggled mightily on the front and rear bumper. Can you send some detailed shots or videos with your inlays? I ended up with overlapping seams and never quite happy with it especially on the front bottom near the light / open air fender flare. If I wrapped in one big piece I could never seem to cut it with enough extra to fill the space. Thanks again…I enjoyed your video.

Great video. Keep up the good job! How long would the wrap last on the car before it starts peeling or deteriorating? Right now I have ppf and was thinking to wrap it instead. After a year with ppf, I’m seeing dirt stains on the edges of the ppf.

Great content! It really shows what it takes to properly wrap that car. I was very glad you've pointed out the wiring behind the wood door trim. When you wrap yours and have that piece removed could you apply some voltage to that trim piece? I would love to know if that is an LED strip.

More power to you brother! I chrome deleted my old P100D with 3M satin black vinyl and it was enough to let me know that I’ll keep the vinyl wrapping to the pros next time! 🤪

The LED light unit is at the beginning by the plug at the front, and the light travels down the light pipe integrated along the bottom of the peice. My BMW i3s has same design
This only applies to the Plaid, my MS LR does not have this “connection” just the wire that isn’t plugged in.

Would it be possible to gloss black wrap all of the cheap black plastic parts around your Model Y? Wheel wells, side rails and lower rear bumper. I think it would greatly improve the look and make it look more high end. I’m thinking about doing it to my MY but not sure if vinyl works on that type of surface. Cheers!

Thank you, man. This is wonderful content. I would like to see a removal process and how does it affect the paint and how it looks after removal. For when your car is a lease and you need to return it as original.
Ive taken mine off a few times and the factory paint is not effected. The only issue you might have is if the car was repainted at some point

Watching these gaurantees that I will never try this on my own. I am DIYer, but wrapping is an art that takes time to master. Just doing a chrome delete was enough for me.

Hi, I just sold my dodge hellcat charger and recently purchased a 2022 model Y performance. I honestly don’t like it that much (it’s too plain on the inside and kind of slow at highway speeds for passing fast cars). Do you think the model S long range like this one in your video or the Plaid is a good fit for me? I heard the Plaid is crazy fast and has terrible brakes plus can’t corner well😮💨. I drive fast for acceleration, cornering and high end speeds for passing people hints the hellcat. However, the model Y is fast but it doesn’t seem fast enough when passing people here in Florida to be clear. I think I have completely told you my issue with figuring out which is the best Tesla for me. The long range is a decent price but the Plaid is insane as you already know the payments are up there even probably with the killer discount you got on yours (very nice btw). Which would you get for my driving style? Is the Plaid worth it or should I just get the long range model S? I don’t want to mess this up because I’ll be in this car for a few years to come. Btw, that wrap looks amazing!!!!! If you’re near central Florida let me know I’ll bring my next car to you.

Not all wrap materials are the same, and it's conceivable that some might cause problems with the sensors. That said, my wrap has massive metal flakes and it doesn't seem to care about that.
Regardless, wrapping is a good idea if you want to keep your paint in good shape. Although color wraps are more of a sacrificial layer than paint protection, but they're still far better than just wax (and "ceramic coat" is just fancy, extremely expensive wax, regardless of what some might think).
Mechanical release for the rear door was below the seats (between your legs) on previous S. Is it changed on the new S ? Maybe double check in the in-car manual….

Sorry, I meant “rear doors” : from manual “To open a rear door in the unlikely situation when Model S has no power, fold back the edge of the carpet below the rear seats to expose the mechanical release cable. Pull the mechanical release cable toward the center of the vehicle.”

Does the wrap cause any issues with the sensors? I’m getting a MSLR in a few weeks and would consider wrapping, but don’t want any issues with the sensors for full self driving.
Not at all. I have both my cars wrapped and have had zero issues with AP. My Model Y had PPF under the Vinyl too

That is where I got the vinyl. I bought the whole roll at 75 feet

Would a carbon front lip that attaches with some screws and 3M tape stick to Avery Dennison vinyl?
I think I would mark where the tape would go and remove the vinyl in that spot. That's what Im going to do on my Model Y

I don’t think he’s paying more for the color cuz it’s refreshed. Doesn’t seem like the color matters but it might be cuz he left some things black such as the mirrors and parts of the front and back bumper

Black is a better color to wrap. It hides the color better. My white S will have to stay a light color. It is harder to cover up all the white
