You are in a restaurant and have no idea what kind of food to get. How can you ask for help?
There is one useful verb you need to know. You can use it to ask about food in a restaurant; you can also use it to ask about activities and places to go. What is this verb?
Our verb is “recommend.”
This verb involves three vowel sounds, but two of them are the same.

Now that we have mastered the sounds of the word, let’s try to use it in a sentence. We started this lesson with a situation in a restaurant. How might you ask for help?

Our lesson today explored the verb “recommend.” But you should know that there is a related noun form. It is “recommendation.”
For “recommendation,” we place a little more stress toward the end of the word, like this:
