I love learning, so thank you for this talk! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Aw thank you! Hopefully our video essays in particular offer a lot to learn!
Your mentioning the dearth of positive comments was kind of heart-breaking! So here's a very positive comment:
I discovered Game Assist while working on a dissertation on colonial norms materialized in/through digital place making. Your longform essay on settler colonialism in games is *amazing*, not just a standout because it's one of the few videos out there engaging with this necessary issue, but because it's really solidly researched, compelling, and accessible! Since I found that one, your essays have been the TH-cam things I most look forward to on the platform, and they deffo shape my practice as a (now) academic, and an art educator working with digital materials.
😭😭😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you so much this is so thoughtful of you to take the time to leave such a lovely comment. We could be much better at posting updates regularly on our TH-cam feed in addition to our Twitter and Insta, but Sara's working on an exploration of neo-colonialism in games for our next video essay, which might interest you! Also your work sounds amazing
I've learned so much ever since I discovered Game Assist just two months ago. They have been deeply influential in my life and my work as an indie game developer. I feel more confident, and, have more drive, to say what I want to say. For that they are etched in my personal history. I love them deeply.
It was super cool seeing the pictures! 😄 18:38
32:42-33:17 My mind is really chewing on this part. I want to absorb it and use it when appropriate.
It means the world to us to hear that! You and our community influence us just as much, and we love y'all just as much x
