In Germany, Indian embassy organizes an idea-generation competition every year called Indian Business Idol, where students propose potential business ideas for new avenues of trade/tech integrations between Germany and India. I believe, initiative like this not only provides valuable insights into trade opportunities but also encourages students to think about ways to contribute to their country. It’s an engaging, low-cost way to uncover fresh perspectives. It would be fantastic if BIDA could let our embassies know to establish something similar for Bangladeshis abroad. Such a platform could allow Bangladeshi students and professionals abroad to brainstorm and share ideas on improving trade relations between Bangladesh and their host countries. And also helps us to be more united!
I agree with you, but the challenge lies within our family. They don't really support entrepreneurship or anything that takes time and comes with potential struggles, especially considering our current situation. However, I believe your recommendation is excellent and will definitely be effective!
3 points: 1. Look Ahead 2. Look Across & 3. Look Again. These points can be a universal model for solving almost all kinds of problems. Thanks for these points Lutfey Siddiqi.
Thank you Mr Lutfy Siddiqi for revamping the government machinery. Insha Allah your efforts will make Bangladesh into an investment, manufacturing and technological hub.
It's a matter of relief to see people of such stature in such vital places, which has rarely happened in Bangladesh's history. In order to progress and create a job sector, there's no alternate of foreign investments in both service and manufacturing sector. I wish you guys all the very best. Let's make a better future for the country.
"Great initiative! It's encouraging to see Bangladesh finally having a strong leader for BIDA. This will undoubtedly help instill confidence in investors. One suggestion: it would be ideal to make the video ad-free for a better viewing experience."
I suggest getting TH-cam premium for a small fee. BIDA is content creator has no control of Ads. Content platform like TH-cam is the blame for pushing Ads to unpaid subscribers.
Outstanding speech so support from Bangladesh business community & International investment to involvement of Bangladesh 2.0 Thank you so much BIDA Authority to share the informative session.
I would say Professor Lutfey is one of the best selection in advisory panel in this mess what our previous Government left behind millions of peoples of Bangladesh.
Please consider selling bonds in the international market for some infrastructures in Bangladesh. So NRBs can contribute. Furthermore, please consider the introduction of PayPal services for local Bangladeshis.
Truly inspirational. Didn't know we had such talented people in Bangladesh. Let's lift this up and light this up. One thing I want to say though, while we look at the investment opportunities, let's not forget about the unemployed people. BIDA can liaise with people's development teams and ensure training for them, not just at employee level but also at management and decision making level. Also reach out to Bangladeshis across the world. We see a lot of our people living in the west go to places like Qatar, China and Singapore. If we can give them good enough reasons they will move back to Bangladesh. Tax free income could be something we can look into. Good luck to you both.
Thanks for RightStarting the investment climate of Bangladesh 2.0. The new team in BIDA has clearly marked the pieces of the puzzle to place in the right spots. Regulatory framework / public service revamption should be the next priority to improve corruption perception and public trust in governance. Quick kills should be scored in no time. Integration & connectivity between existing government systems (e.g. Bangladesh Bank, NBR, Ministry of Commerce, BIDA, BEZA etc) would immediately improve regulatory services efficiency, reduce corruption and money laundering. This would improve business ready index for the country promoting the start up ecosystem. As a result Bangladeshi diaspora would be interested in their fatherland as a prime investment opportunity. Looking forward to continued dialogue and information from BIDA. Wishing all the best.
Why not make out own version of Amazon and PayPal? I am currently in korea they have Coupang, they didn't think about bringing Amazon and we should too try to be self reliant. We have software engineers and businessmen, encourage them to build for us. They will if they see that there's a potential market. They won't if we keep asking for Amazon.
Finally, right people in right place, Hope they will get enough time to sustain our economy. Just my opinion about the channel name, it is too long, might be" Invest Bangladesh" . Wish good luck to initiate such approach.
Haven't seen such initiative coming from the Bangladesh Government before. Hope there will be more opportunities for new businesses, entrepreneurs and particularly for the NRBs in the future.
This is fantastic. We as a country have a very long way to go to even establish ourselves at the world stage with a positive image. If there is one new initiative from this government that I wish can continue for at least the next 10 years, for me it will be this. It is so rare to see talent and selflessness intersecting. I pray and hope for your success. The road will be full of turbulence but stay strong an keep moving forward.
Very encouraging discussion from 2 young talent engaged by Dr Yunus. I hope they will definitely produce some momentum on their field. This discussion may be a showcase for what this government is doing in terms of economic reforms, Investment etc. Appreciate future such dialogue in Bangla for the boarder audiance.
it's really amazing that we can see the right people in the right place.See we already had brilliant personalities.we never tried to approach them and we didn't show the interest so that they can show their potential. i hope it'll be continued. Guys doing their best. Deep respect. Good luck.
This is a fantastic start! I really appreciate the initiative, and it’s wonderful to see progress like this. As NRBs, we would love to contribute to investment opportunities and be a part of nation building efforts. I just hope this project will avoid the setbacks of past initiatives and stay clear of corruption. Wishing you all the best and much success.
Wish you all the success. Please share with us how we can invest in Bangladesh and the opportunities and other avenues that are available for us who is living abroad like USA and other developed countries.
Bringing multilingual Bangladeshi citizens from around the world, with global ethical work experiences is a concept we people of Bangladesh were looking forward to from the interim government of Bangladesh.
Kudos to your initiative. Looking forward to your success on digitisation of the customs .best form of ease of doing business is allowing entrepreneurs to fail fast.
really appreciate the initiatives and plans. Hope to have an economy with fewer arrears. A small request, in the session, if it is possible to zoom in the explaining frame much bigger than it is now. Seeing the host explain the slides will be really helpful. Thank you and best of luck.
It's a good initiative and needs to be normalized in all aspects of government actions. Please continue this as a regular activity. I believe that regulatory barriers are the biggest issue at hand. Other issues will sort themselves out when the legal structure is on point. I'm surprised to see it wasn't focused on in this presentation.
My two cents would be to involve academics to join the discussion aimed at improving the investment ecosystem in Bangladesh. For example, take the DSE and CSE, and try to improve their quality (by removing market manipulation using established research) so that investors are willing to take risks in these markets (both liquidity providers and takers). This ensures a safe secondary market for both retail and institutional institutions. Once you have that sorted, then you can expect more cross-border investments into BD markets (i.e., Bangladeshi companies), bringing money flow and attention (much needed for FDI).
"Bangladesh needs foreign direct investment (FDI) to advance to the next level in climate support projects, focusing on innovation and sustainability."😊😊😊

There should be a single point of contact. This point of contact should be under Head of the country. This way it does not get lost. We should be very aggressive in getting foreign investment. Every one try to get the investment. My feelings is that we are some what laid back. Job creation is very important . Other wise country will fail. Power for the industry also very important .
Finally Bangladesh got the right people for the job. We are hopeful for your success.

Bangladesh in a new height. Proud of these people. Very inspiring.

It is very nice initiative to attract foreign investment in Bangladesh

Bring Paypal and Amazon in our country and apple stores as well
Umm!!!!
Apple stores will rebuild the country and make us solvent economically, right?
How could you actually bring such cheap thoughts?
Why not make out own version of Amazon and PayPal? I am currently in korea they have Coupang, they didn't think about bringing Amazon and we should too try to be self reliant. We have software engineers and businessmen, encourage them to build for us. They will if they see that there's a potential market. They won't if we keep asking for Amazon.
And Gpay also
Apple stores are a waste of money.

Very encouraging words gentlemen but we will look at results! Corruption was shown as the last point but that should have been the first.
State of the Art People in the right place

I feel that Moody's downgrading our outlook is a political decision, despite a soft landing of the economy from where it used to be 3 months ago.
I see the potential of the Bangladeshi people, this generation will take the Bengali nation to the next level.
Best luck young man.. Future of Bangladesh
