Grand Seiko started in 1960, now 60 years old. The year 1960 carries a special meaning to me, so I am glad GS released this anniversary version. I just need this for my collection.
I enjoy its overall craftsmanship and look. It’s a pleasure to wear it everyday.

Well Done! really great choice, that's the ultimate dressy/sporty watch.
It really does beat Rolex for the artisan quality it has. Do not be worried about the spring drive, I struggled with the idea but I would rather have an evolution of the mechanical movement next to the repetitive offerings from the swiss, by the way, it is very impressive, you should do another research on the spring drive and focus on how it powers itself, very impressive. I may be wrong but I studied it a few days ago and I think the Quartz component with the capacitor is powered by the main spring and free running balance wheel and then the quartz component regulates the balance, it is based on a mutual relationship, this is what sold it to me, it is really awesome.
You have made a very good choice of buying this watch, definitely collectible, it’s the first GS comes with new caliber and was issued for 60 anniversary.

Yes, really love it. The SS bracelet is a bit on the “smooth and soft” side. Totally agree with you that the clasp locking system will fail sometime, it’s a matter of when. Hope they will improve.

Sure, it's a matter of taste. But fyi, the red seconds hand represents the red tinge of the morning sun against the deep blue sky as it rises over the Shizukuishi Watch Studio. Also, the number 60 is significant in Japanese culture, as when a person turns 60 they celebrate a Kanreki, or a rebirth in which the celebrant traditionally wears red. It’s a moment that honors and reflects on the past, but also looks forward to the future. With 2020 marking their 60th anniversary, Grand Seiko celebrates its Kanreki.

An amazing watch, but that has to be the weirdest watch review i've ever seen..
