I am a huge Boards of Canada fan! Geogaddi is amazing but scary if you know what it is about. Fav track on there is Dawn Chorus, and my other fav track is Happy Cycling off Music Has the right to Children, which made me a fan of them. Very nice vid Barli, you gave me some good tingles 💜 :3
Geogaddi is great as an album, but definitely their darkest and most depressing album, and you really do have to be in the right headspace to listen to it. But my favorite songs on the album have to be Music is Math and Alpha and Omega. My all time favorite album though is The Campfire Headphase, and my favorite songs on the album are Chromakey Dreamcoat and Oscar See Through Red Eye, I can rant for hours about how good the album is hehe
@@BarliASMR Campfire is definitely more pleasant to listen to yee. I still have yet to listen to it while camping aha. I would say though I have not thought of Geogaddi as depressing, most of BOC I find relaxing to listen to if you do not think of the album concepts.
I have listened to TCH by a campfire, and listened to Farewell Fire while watching the fire die. One day I do want to get a portable record player and bring my TCH record and listen while camping in the woods somewhere, I'm sure it'd be an amazing experience. I think Geogaddi is depressing only if you know what it's about or know about the hidden messages, otherwise if you don't know the nature behind the album then most of the songs are pretty relaxing, though In The Annexe always gets me for some reason and I usually skip it...
I collect CDs and I thought your collection was pretty dope. I'm sorry you thought taping them to the wall was a good idea lol, the cover damage sucks!!!! I do have a few vinyls, but a few early 80s and a few late 90s ones, nothing compared to your decent-sized collection. Most albums I'd be looking for (original of course) would go anywhere from 70$ to 300$, so I wasn't ready to break the bank on collecting them. Btw, I would love to see a CD video! Also, I have been trying to find early 2000s electronic music besides Paul Van Dyke and Paul Oakenfold, so thank you so much for the recommendations.
Vinyls are really fun to collect :3 And I absolutely looooove Undertale and Deltarune, I don't have the albums on vinyl but I do have both on CD, I'll definitely show those if I do a CD video ;3
@@roshirawr Tycho is great, especially Dive, and Adrift is literally so BoC-esque, I do need to listen to more Tycho though. For me, the artist right under BoC has to be Lone, it's like if Boards of Canada met dance music, he was mainly inspired by them and I highly recommend listening to his music :3
@@roshirawr LET'S GOOO you, my friend, have an immaculate taste as well :3 Lemurian is pure BoC, so is his debut Everything Is Changing Colour, but I think I love Emerald Fantasy Tracks the most, I have that on CD
Having the Celeste OST on vinyl is so cool! I was just replaying it the other day, and damn the music in that game really is great Looking forward to checking out some of these recommendations, you seem to have excellent taste x33 (Maybe you could show off your CD collection sometime? 👉 👈)
The entire Celeste soundtrack is just amazing, and the game is also super good, I 100% completed it hehe Also I might make a CD video too, stay tuned ;3
Lovelt collection! Don't know if you know them, but there is an Ensabmle called Alarm Will Sound who do live acoustic versions of Aphex Twin songs. I think their rendition of "4" is incredible. Do you know another IDM band by the name Telefon Tel Aviv?
I don't know the ensemble but it sounds interesting, I'll check them out for sure. And yeah I LOVE Telefon Tel Aviv, The Birds hits me in the feels everytime for some reason, and there was a time where I only listened to Fahrenheit Fair Enough
@@BarliASMR I fully get you on that. Farenheit Fair Enough is one of the most calming albums I know. The Birds is simple but somehow super intense, excellent track.
I would really love to get Fahrenheit Fair Enough on vinyl The Birds is really emotional for me, maybe because one of the members passed away a couple days after the release of Immolate Yourself
@@BarliASMR You rpelied to this whilst I am listening to them haha. Same, especially on a good speaker set. I had the pleasure to listen to some tracks on Focal headphones and speakers and it was an absolute joy. It for sure makes it hit hard, though that somehow syncs more to me with Map of W What is Effortless. Especially with the last song (at the edge of the world). That album always felt the most emotional to me though. Might be the lyrics and leitmotifs.
I wanted to collect vinyls but I didn't realize I didn't have space for them :/
I love the tappins sounds.
I liked learning about your collection :3
Collecting vinyls is a very cool hobby but it also gets expensive pretty quickly. Glad you liked the video :3
