    Hi Vince how to contact you. I would like to know how to connect the control wiring of HM750A1000 with ecobee thermostats.

    Hi Vance, thanks for the video, the replacement and cleaning went very well but, I'm getting a loud buzzer sound when I'm draining the unit and also after a few days of operation. Would you know why?

    Thanks for sharing. 3 yrs ago, I chose the lower cost version, the Aprilaire 800, primarily because of the cost and Carrier and Trane certified these units. This unit you got appears to be much fancier than the Aprilaire.
    Can you choose the amperage for the unit to steam at different rate? Mine can do 11A or 20A (IIRC) @ 240V.

      All you can do is change the voltage to change the max steam rate. My unit (Honeywell HM700A1000) will steam 11 GPD (max) at 120v, or 22 GPD (max) at 240v. In both cases, it uses 12A. When installing, you select the voltage you are using with a jumper. Note that those are max values, and the unit can modulate any steam rate from zero to the max GPD rate.

    After having this humidifier would you recommend the product? I’m about to purchase my first humidifier and don’t even know where to start.

      If you are wanting a whole home humidifier, this is a good one to get. As one commenter pointed out, the electrodes get consumed and the tank/electrode assembly has to be replaced every 1-2 years. Mine lasted 2 years. The replacement tank costs around $100.

      Vance's How-To Video Library thanks for the replay. Doing some research the aprilaire 800 seems like it’s the same product. Their replacement canister is around $65.00. I’m going to be installing a Honeywell smart thermostat and just wanted to pair it with their humidifier. Do you have any regrets about getting this unit?

      @@aaronmckay20 The Honeywell smart thermostat I have is great. It will work with any humidifier. Its just a contact open/close signal. I'm sure the Aprilaire model is fine. I don't know anything about it, but I do know the "electrode technology" type models are the best (the ones with the disposable canister with electrodes). Good luck!

      I have the Aprilaire 800 which was about $500 or so. The replacement tank is anywhere from $50-100 depend on the season and store location. It appears that my Aprilaire 800 is easier to maintain w/ less parts. It takes about 3min to replace the canister.

    Needs replacement every year An expensive replacement $125 to $150 just for the tank. Why not use replacement electrodes instead of replacing whole tank.

      I agree its expensive. Mine lasted 2 years. Unfortunately, its not designed to allow you to replace the electrode only. You can't purchase the electrodes separately, and they aren't removable from the tank.

    • @zakyxzaky
      @zakyxzaky 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand the electrodes are not replaceable because it was designed that way. They could have designed it in such a way to just replace the electrodes. Mine lasted less than a season. Was put in January last year turned off April. Had to be replaced October the following year. A rip off. You only get a small portion of the heating cycle humidified It takes a while to create steam from the time the heating starts. You don't want to keep it running all the time. The ducts will get saturated with water and mold would form. Is there a solution?

      @@zakyxzaky Maybe the reason your tank wore out quickly is because its wired for 120v, and as a result is running at half its maximum steam output? In general, meaning the unit is not sized large enough for your house. You could try changing it to 240v to get more steam output?

    • @zakyxzaky

      @@VancesHowTo No it is wired at 220 OR 240 . Honeywell has it so that it required replacement every year. A RIP OFF . They recommend a certified tech to do the installation. this is a selling point to their representatives. Look at the spec sheet.
