- The taro plants I planted a few months ago now it's time to harvest their stems to make pickle, and the taro roots will take more than 2 months to harvest. I also plant vines that later produce fruit that can be mixed with drinking water.

I am growing Taro for the first time in the US. People here are saying that it needs to be cooked a lot so it doesn’t itch and burn the mouth and skin. Are these pickles to be cooked or did the drying and skinning remove the chemicals?
