Awesome video. Please make more! Recently moved to Essex and fishing for Bass has been great. I checked out your lure video too. Great stuff. Hoping to do more lure fishing this season.
I have been trying different sort of ways for mackerel heads and never confident on the presentation. The way you do it with the mackerel head is the best I have seen and will clip well to a red gemini splash down solo bait clip to cast. Great video. Thanks for all your tips. Cheers.
I don’t think it really matters but it’s those lovely juices that are important packing a 4/0 hook with the good bits fills me with a bit more confidence. A bass will eat anything ! This is about juices per square inch !

Wow great !
When ive used mackerel heads, ive always done it almost the same, but with the hook facing the other way
You can make bait needles, with SS wire and crimps.
This is great stuff! Thankyou from a begginer
Nice , theres always different ways of doing things but just showing whats worked well for me and my fishing friends over the years.
With worm baits, both lug and rag, the easiest way to put them on the hook is with a baiting needle
Just wondered what you've caught with mackerel head
Bass, bull Huss, conger but bass mostly and only in Autumn
@@SaltwaterAngler Cool thanks, also, you catch alot on peeler and is it easy to find peeler if you you cant buy
What type & size of hook are you using?
I’ll check patterns but for crab like this wide gaped varieties
Is the bait elastic biodegradable? Asking for a friend 👀
Yes it is, it often rots in my fishing box !
Do you tie off the bait elastic, if so any special knot?
No need to tie it off it snaps and holds the bait in. This is very fine bait elastic that’s really good at holding the juices in
Thanks, that's what it looked like but thought it would unwrap
Question has anyone tried sea bass fillets as a bait as an alternative to mackerel or other fish?
I doubt it
Perfect video thanks
Thanks , I’m not the best at bait presentation but hopefully there’s enough there to get started
What's the most humane way to kill a crab at last minute notice
Knife between the eyes slide in
@@SaltwaterAngler so kinda like a lobster also what can I catch with regular crabs from a pier
Smoothound, wrasse, bass
For whatever reason TH-cam doesn’t show you up for me in my recents tab! Glad to be back :)

Why cut the gills out . Whould a fish not eat a crab on the sea bed
