The French themed area reminds me a lot of EPCOT in Disney World. In other words, take the most recognizable architectural features of a country, scale everything down so that kids feel more comfortable around it, and then add every touristy gimmick imaginable. Of course EPCOT still somehow manages to make the experience enjoyable, despite all of the kitsch. Did you guys feel like you had walked into a tourism commercial at Fuji Q Highland? That is kind of what EPCOT feels like.

Brought back memories of Fuji Highland crazy 4D roller coaster... once u have been on it... u feel so accomplished! but i agree.. we got fast pass and went on more rides....
I went here in June and we got onto all of the main rides (some more than once) and lots of the other rides! The queues moved a lot faster than that, I think the longest we had to wait was just over an hour! So maybe try again in the summer, and get there before opening time!
I like how you guys are not 100% salty about the park. My friend and I went in Summer. Peak season is ideal if you dont mind waiting forever. I hope you guys come back. Dododonpa is a must!!!
If you haven't already, you guys should definitely go on a rollercoaster called Thunder Dolphin in Tokyo Dome City. Me and my brother went to Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden which is really nearby and - wondering where all the screams where coming from - came across the attraction a couple years ago. It's part of a relatively small theme park if I remember correctly but we didn't go on any of the other 'rides' as you can pay for single attractions. We didn't have to wait too long either :-)Look it up!
My friend and I had luck! We went to Fuji Q on summer and we were able to enjoy all the rides without making lines :P Idk why it was so empty, but the largest line was about 20 min.

Playland in Vancouver is only open until 3PM during weekdays for most of June lol I did not know that a couple of summers ago and arrived just after 2 and didn't end up going at all :(
Magic Mountain is similar, the pass is totally worth it. And sadly, the most crazy ride (X2), isn't included in the pass so you have to wait 2+ hours for it. But totally worth it! If you ever get a chance while in California to visit Magic Mountain, do it! Especially if you love roller coasters... and superheros.
When Simon was stuck in the mouse ride it reminded me of when I try and get on and off Space Mountain in Disney World. My legs are too long to properly fit in that ride, so I look like a baby deer try to struggle out of the rocket. I've actually fallen out while trying to get my stupid long legs out of the tiny holes they're supposed to fit in..., the curse of being tall.

In Rye New York there is an amusement park called Rye play land and it has a ride called the crazy mouse it's has lots of sharp turns and of course the car is shaped like a crazy looking mouse
You guys should also make sure to do the Disney Parks in the off season and get there an hour before opening so you can line up for the fast passes. I used a guide when I went and it helped me board about ten more rides than I would have otherwise. Disney Sea and Disneyland are both super fun and a lot larger than Fuji Q.
I went in September a few years ago and was able to ride everything besides the really really fast one because it was closed. But yeah, I hope you guys get to go again and ride everything!!
Next time you're in Los Angeles, go 45 minutes north to Magic Mountain! I know there's a lot to do in LA and California, but Magic Mountain on a non-summer weekday is great! It also has a 4D coaster and the wait time is shorter. Partly because there's 18 other roller coasters to ride :) Still ride it second in the morning before the line gets longer. The first thing to ride is Tatsu.

Texas has two of the Six Flags franchise. And they aren't open all year, only during certain months. We have some extreme coasters and they're themed around Looney Toons and the Justice League. It's hard to go during summer because of the heat but Holiday in the Park and Fright Fest are always super fun.
I've never been to Fuji-Q (yet) but if you ever come to the Shiga/Mie area, in Mie Prefecture there is the Nagashima Spa Land amusement park. I went there on a Saturday in November and got to go on every ride I wanted to, twice. It also has world record roller coasters, (Steel Dragon is amaazingg) and didn't have nearly as many people as I am used to (I used to go to Cedar Point a lot when I lived in the States, and the lines there are ridiculous.) By the end of the night (also about 6-ish) me and my friend had been on all the best rides at least twice and had plenty of time to just stroll around and hop on whatever looked interesting. There was also a fireworks show once it got dark. One of the nicest experiences I've ever had at an amusement park.

I must have gotten so lucky??? We got the discount passes for going later in the day (around 2pm, I think?) and were able to ride 3/4 (the steepest, the fastest, and the most inversions) before the park closed. Plus one or two of the non-rollercoaster ones. I think the longest line we had was for the world record fastest one and that was about 45 minutes. A different time I went it was just after a huge snow storm, so almost everything was closed. We decided to go to the haunted house (since it was open), but there were hardly any scarers in it, like you could see the spots where they should be hiding but there was no one there. Even so it was pretty terrifying, I would recommend it if you go back! It costs an additional 500¥ however, which I found irritating.

Cedar Point at least has fairly fast operations that keep lines moving. Fuji-Q has a very strict system to operations that makes them extremely slow (one 20 person train on Eejanaika can take 5-7 minutes to dispatch). On busy days, the major coasters can have lines of 4 hours or more.

I helped chaperone my friend's daughter's youth group at Europa Park in 2008 during Halloween. It was the best theme park I've ever been to. Really gorgeous, and the most family friendly for all ages. (just don't ride the dome or the mine cart, if they're still there. unless you like whip lash. lol)
I went there too!!! It was frustrating because I didn't know how to get there and when I got there, I only had a couple of hours before the park closed :(

OMG that bad mouse roller coaster looks almost exactly like the one that gets set up at the Calgary Stampede every year!

I went there too!!! It was frustrating because I didn't know how to get there and when I got there, I only had a couple of hours before the park closed :(

Next time you guys go back to Canada you should spend a day at Cedar Point! The Valravn is unreal!
