According to our oral history, the nomenclature Mao is derived from ancient Chinese settlement Minhau. Rongmei Naga called it Mahou taubei( once our forefathers inhabited and had migrated from) during the reign of Qin-Shi-Huang- Di ( 221 BC) most probably in Yunan, China.However, I don't know what Mao people relate to it. According to our elders, once we lived together as one before departure.
