Thank you Erik. I am following you more than year. Your courses are expensive for me. But i always follow your youtube channel. Looking for some redesign series with explanation. You are a good teacher as I know.
Thanks, more coming! And where are you based? If somewhere with significantly less purchasing power than the US, email me about a PPP discount - erik@learnui.design 🙂
I love your tutorial, but the app didn't show consistency compared to what you have showed here. +Sometimes I drag the object and the pixel info on the blue and red rectangle didn't show up. Any idea why? +You also mentioned that by dragging/duplicate the line by x pixels will make Figma 'intelegently' recognise the next duplication. I did that, but the object still stay at the same position as before. Any idea why? Please let me know. Thanks.
Great introduction to Figma for a newbie! Question: at 27:00 you used the Pen tool to draw a line that bisected the "E" in HEAL, however, I cannot for the life of me get the pen tool to create the endpoint to snap exactly on the vertical spine of the "E" ... it wants to snap to the pixel grid underneath, which is a few points to the left of the E. Can you tell me why this is happening? TY!
This is really good... but, at 28:02.. you either remove, move or make stroke on your graph fill but we can't see which method or what you actually did. Doesn't seem you scaled it down nor moved the fill down. Did you add like a 20pt or so stroke of the background color to the fill?
Hmm, I moved the filled version of the data down by 10px - is that it? I definitely didn't change the stroke there, though (I think this is probably obvious) when I hover on the layer, it highlights in blue, which appears kind of like a stroke. Does that help? 🤔
yes, thanks... that 10px isn't always there... like when adding the gradient... but I see that you must have just used a keystroke and it makes sense now. Thanks!@@learnuidesign
I wanted to know a solution to a specific problem in Figma. When I select two layers and press shift+a, the two layers separate from each other, which forced me to reduce the size of the gap, and the lower two layers flip over and vice versa. I replaced the account with another account, but the same problem is not solved. So, is there a way or do I contact the site’s technical support to fix the problem? ?I tried to put all the elements in a group, but unfortunately I have the same problem. Is there a solution?
Ooh, sometimes Figma will do that when you try to create an auto-layout when the text layer isn't totally contained by the rectangle behind it. Is that the issue? 🤔
No, I collect many elements, texts and circles. I click on select frame twice to access the auto layout, and this makes me very tired, especially with the large projects.@@learnuidesign
my problem is how to represent it in real life, I mean how to implement it in HTML and other languages so that it becomes a real webpage or website? is it gonna be so complex and difficult to implement?
The short answer is that a dashboard like this would be *very* difficult to implement as-shown without knowing HTML, CSS, and JS - and, in the modern world, likely some front-end frameworks as well 🙂
Amazing! Thank you Erik, very insightful and helpful.
Brilliant as per usual. I've loved your Learn UI class
Thanks! Glad to hear it :)

Very helpful for a beginner who has had a taste of Adobe XD. Thank you! The three boxes were tricky indeed.
Did you manage to get them, or do you still have some confusion about it? 😅
I might have to repeat creating them to be sure how exactly I got to them looking like yours. Thanks :)
I rarely leave comments, but this crash course is amazing. Thank you for sharing.

@@learnuidesign you could do ANYTHING in Figma and I would benefit from it, quite honestly 😅 I really enjoyed all of the shortcut tips in this video!

Hm, not totally sure I get what you're saying, but does holding Shift help? Then it forces the proposed line to be perfectly horizontal.
