Oh man! What an inheritance of Lavender and Lace/Mira/Passione Ricoma!! I have two Passione Ricoma's on the go that I found at my LNS and absolutely love the ladies! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Wow! What generous friends…a couple of those patterns are REALLY hard to find!!! ❤ Thanks for another entertaining video Samantha. You kept me company while I decorated one of our Christmas trees….loved seeing your projects. ❤
WOW....what a show...all those treasures (patterns). I am doing the baby one at the moment for my great grandson Blake. You lucky girl for getting all those patterns. Thanks for the lovely show and looking forward to the holiday show.
Thank you for sharing your stitching Samantha. Poppy is stunning! I’m not brave enough to start a big full coverage. I admire your bravery and look forward to seeing your progress on the fairy tale piece. 😁
Love all ur projects!! I'm amazed at all the beautiful charts that were passed along to add to ur collection. The way u described urself is exactly the way I used to be- I'd stitch only 1 thing at a time no matter how long it took, maybe with exception of Christmas cuz I'd only want to stitch that in the winter months. But every since discovering flosstube and learning about alllllll these amazing designers out there, and the stunning hand dyed fabric and flosses, I've just thrown caution to the wind and I'm like gotta have it all! Must start it all! Cuz u can't every finish anything if u don't start it, right?! 😉 at least that's what I tell myself when I'm jonesin for a new start😂 It's a lot of fun to work on multiple things now, that way I never get bored! Happy stitchingSamantha! 🐈⬛🪡❤️
I work from a master set of floss. When kitting up a project I try to see if there’s enough floss (approximately) on my master bobbin for a project. If it looks like thread chicken will be happening, I’ll grab a new skein. If 2+ skeins are called for, they get dedicated skeins. If I run out of my master bobbin, oh well, it happens. After the project is complete, all the new partially used skeins go into a baggie for when the master bobbin runs out (or a new project needs that color and it’s a common color like black or grey). This keeps the duplicates to a minimum, but allows for dye lot to be reasonably consistent in a project. And if multiple projects need the same color, you’re less at risk of dye lots due to running out mid project. I will say, working from a master set, you will discover just how many projects use the same colors despite how different the color schemes look. Theresa Wentzlers mermaid and Joan Elliotts Chinese phoenix share about 50% of their colors…muted vs bright…I never imagined how similar the flosses would be when kitting up the phoenix. I’m trying to kit up Joan Elliott’s rose goddess since I’ve got very little pink floss being used at the moment…half of her colors are in other projects! So she’s on the back burner for a start until more floss gets freed up.
Another fantastic video-what an awesome chart parade! I love having my DMC in Floss-Away bags for storage, but I always cut a skein and put it on floss drops to actually stitch. I usually have several skeins in my DMC storage bags so I just shop there. 😉
I love my Book of Days also! it's so fun to keep track of stitching adventures and projects! So excited to see how your full coverage piece comes along! I have one that I am just waiting to start! (I don't know what I am waiting for!!!)
Just wow! I know I sound like a broken record but you really make me think I can stitch a MD or NC!! Your Poppy is to die for 🤩 She is just drop dead gorgeous!! Thanks for another great video and hope to see you at the Jingle Ball!
So good to see your 2 part update. You’ve hit the jackpot with all the stitchy kindness. I’m so excited to see you started Firefly Fairies. It makes me want to start mine. Looking forward to your holiday update.
I would suggest you stick to the Bags, as you have so many. Mine are all on cards, because I did that when I started stitching again. It was Mirabillia Sleeping Beauty in 1990's, later years. I now have 8 boxes, all in order of DMC. I am turning my Natucket Rose into Anne of Green Gables. I think the girl on the swing is called Reaching the Sky. 😊
I'm a bobbinator, and work off a master set (DMC). For projects with specialty threads, I'll kit those up with the pattern. I really can't imagine buying all the flosses for each project. 😳. Thank you for sharing! Love your joyful personality, and your projects, too! 🙂 Your Amy Stewart puzzle...I have that puzzle as well!! And Yes, it is a cross stitch pattern, too. I am stitching the HAED SAL this year, and have just a snippet of that mushroom picture {58500 stitches}.
Hello Samantha 😀 You found the best fabric to stitch your Firefly Fairies,, it looks perfect, it's like there is actual light on it 😃 "Poppy" looks fantastic and the "Icefairy" also and I have to say that your "Spring Angel", will also look amazing, judging from the bit you've already stitched 🧚♀🧚♂🧚 I am a half seasonal stitcher 😛 I do try to start something new that fits each season or stitching event etc but I don't like leaving a project aside totally for almost a year till I can stitch on it again, even though this happened this year with a Christmas project I had started and I don't feel very good about it. So I start something and then I stitch on it till it's done regardless the season 😊 Looking forward to see your progress on your amazing WIPs thanks for the very enjoyable video 😍🧵🪡
Love your videos and all your projects! I work off a Master Set of DMC that I keep on floss drops. I use Annie's Keepers floss drops and you can buy the set with Annie's Keepers slats that you can then clip them into. I organise by colour and hang them from my bookshelf. I then just take what I need for the project I am working on and then clip them back in once finished. When a colour gets low I just buy another one and refill it.
Loved your Mirabilia collection, I have stitched Rose of Sharon and Spring Queen, they are really pretty when finished. My Mother also has stitched many Lavender and Lace charts, they all look really beautiful when completed.
I think it's a Good idea to have all your floss together , you could keep each color on a flossaway bag and all the bags could hang on a thin rope (a ring big enough would not be possible of course), and sorted by number, of course. You can have a rope per brand if you are using differents brands and not only DMC.
Hi Samantha love the lavender and lace collections I have stitched Rose of Sharon and Rose Arbour they are beautiful, I like to bobbin the thread for my projects and stitch with paper charts like you but I'm a one design at a time person my daughter loads my PDF charts on to a USB stick for me I take it to my local printer and they blow the design out to a 150 scale on to A3 paper it is so much clearer for easy stitching. My next project is Hummingbird stained glass two by 7th Heaven its 56 pages of enjoyment.
Beautiful stitches. I use floss away bags like you. I bought a piece of furniture with library card type drawers and fit all my dmc in it. I have multiple and more multiples of floss bags with the same color. I prefer to kit each project but then return floss to the master set. Eventually the extra will get used up. I am working on a pull the floss as you go project and I find I don’t like having to stop and go into the furniture to get the color. I like it boxed as a kit more. I use photo boxes or bags for my projects depending on the size of it. Good luck, seems to be a good problem to have- too much floss
Poppy is my next Nora Corbett stitch (after I finish Sweet Pea) and I also have the "Feathers & Friends" pattern on my to-start list. Ashley's Roses is my unicorn stitch, though! I love her dress.
Samantha you have a good point and it’s something I’m considering with the amount of wips I have fully kitted I have so much floss in bags with projects! I have thought about taking just one or two strands of floss and putting them in a floss card for my projects then putting the rest back with my master set. Pulling more if needed as I use it? Idk what a dilemma 😊 what a beautiful collection to be gifted ! I’m sure you love each of them❤ I am working on Ashley’s Roses, winter queen with a conversion right now myself! There are some amazing patterns there Samantha’s you may never have to purchase another one😊
Your stitching is BEAUTIFUL ❤️! I work from my master set of DMC. I am also a monogamous full coverage cross stitcher if that makes any difference. My master set is all on bobbins in numerical order and stored in a few of those plastic durable bobbin floss boxes that you can get both in craft stores or online easily and inexpensively. I do have an overflow of extra skeins in several colors that were given to me by others. I just keep those in a separate box and whenever I run low of a color on my master set I look there first before purchasing. This method works wonderfully for me but might not suit everyone. Just thought to share this easy option. I like that it is all in one place, well organized. Best Wishes!
Hello Samantha, I have watched your videos from the beginning and I just love each one. I normally don't write comments but trying to step out. I live in Southern California. Thank you for sharing
You were gifted my struggle bus piece! Savannah's Curtsy has been on my wip list for a very long time, and thanks to you, I've recently restarted it, and have a different approach and mindset while stitching her. Thank you for being such an inspiration! When you explain your approach to a certain piece, you make it sound so easy! Sparkle n Shine ✨ Julie
Welcome to the world of stitching Aimee Stewart and full coverage. I love her and have several started. I have a beautiful Joan Elliott started as well. I am so glad to see you again.
Love Mirabilia and Lavender and Lace. I stitched the Romantic Stitcher years ago and it is beautiful. I remember there were about 38 different colors of blue in her dress!
I am also doing 100 Owls! But I started it two years ago as a broke and brand new stitcher. I’m using the DMC and I will say that if I were to start it today I would definitely be using a variegated floss. Note that the pattern tells you the name of each owl and if you google that owl, you can see the true colors of them. I saved the three big center sections for the end so I will do that after the holidays are over.
Samantha, thanks for another beautiful video! I love your infectious passion for cross stitching; I always want to start stitching after I watch your latest video! I think you will love Lavender & Lace with sweeping lines of colors and very little confetti sections. Your videos make me happy!
Samantha always so inspiring. And. I had just bought Stitchers Shelf from HAED and hope to start this summer! I agree about floss organizing it’s a struggle. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃!
I just love your videos so much! Every time I see your progress or your new charts, it makes me want to finally try a mirabilia! Thank you for being yourself and inspiring me to try new things.
OOOOH I love "The Quilting" Duh! Also I did Angel of Spring in about 2008 for my mom. It is hanging on the wall in their TV room. She was fun to stitch!
This was so fun to watch while stitching this afternoon. I have English Roses in stash and have been afraid to start her because of the rose ribbons...so will you stitch her and do a tutorial?? 😆Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for needlecraft!
I have that exactly bookshelf and love it. I was in my local Ace hardware and saw a puzzle display. There was my chart in puzzle form. I bought it right away! What a find!
I inherited several Told in a Garden, Lavender and Lace and Butternut Road from my grandma. They are special patterns to me. I did Christmas Blue Angel by Joan Elliott for my daughter, it was a remembrance piece for my grandson. You are a beautiful stitcher and I love all your fancy ladies.
Oh wow! You are so lucky to get those charts. My sister's first Mirabilia stitch was Savannah's Curtsy. She is absolutely gorgeous when done. I have worked on Holly while I watched you. I am doing her beading and she will be done. Holly is my first Nora Corbett stitch. I started my first Mirabilia which was June's Pearl Fairy but she is still a WIP. Happy stitching.
Poppy is one of my favorite Nora stitches. She stitched quickly and those reds in her skirt are just stunning! Lady of the Thread is stunning when stitched; I did her on black aida and the colors just SING on the fabric! I've been stitching (and collecting lol) since the early 1990s.. and some of these that you showed brought brought back the memory of how wonderful it was when these designs were released. I always loved the Passione Ricamo ladies, but never actually bought any of them; I was looking through an older Just Cross Stitch magazine yesterday and saw an ad for one of their new releases. 🪡👠
I have my master set of DMC in Floss Away bags in boxes by their number. Fancy flosses are on their tags hanging on those wire luggage rings. Enjoy seeing your videos.
I work from my DMC collection. I don't use the brand name floss away bags, I have my skeins in jewelry size zip bags and then have them organized numerically in 3 old DMC boxes I got at goodwill. If I need a color that is in another kit that I am actively working on (the only reason they wouldnt be in the box) I mark which kit t is witg, so when I get to that number, I can pull it and then put it back. When I am done with a project, all the dmc goes back into the box.
I use a pip and chip storage system on bobbins for a master set, they are precut to assume I'll stitch 2 over 2. I then kit up using floss bags like you do. But I just add 1 or 2 strands. Then as I stitch I just add from the master set as needed. This means I only have threads needed per project (so quick to find and use) and a master set to avoid 5 skeins across multiple projects. Because when I'm done with project, I had having 8 skeins of the same color. It was getting out of control. This way, when I unkit a project. I just add to the master pip and chip storage. And I only buy more when I need it on the master set. Really has brought my thread purchases and control the extras.
I did the L&L Fairies years ago! Loved the stitch, wasn’t working at the time and I think it took me a month to complete, one of my absolute favourites! I am a Sleeping Beauty fanatic and these are my God Mothers!
@@HyggeStitcher I also stitched Rose of Sharon twice! Once 1994 on aida and then just finished her again this year. I did the first one for my mom and wanted her for myself. I also did her skin 1 over1 on 28 count. Know I need to do her companion piece Rose Arbour
Yay! Just going to put Nora's Blitzen in the hoop and stitch along :) I feel your pain on the whole thread storage/usage issue; I'm even thinking that going back to monogamous stitching would be better (but who needs that level of rigidity??!) Back in about 2003 I found a workmate who also stitched Mirabilia and Lavender and Lace, we could spend ages chatting about stitching as it felt like we were the only two in a desert of non-stitching people :) Seeing the parade of the old L&L and Miras makes me feel sort of happy-sad nostalgic; these were the designs we would see, stitched on plain fabrics (no hand dyeds then) and on show in needlework shops and at stitching shows. I fell in love with the beautiful sweeping dresses with the shaded folds, and still love them to this day; stitching trends have moved on, and I do like the new designs...but those old ones have a special place for me; life back then wasn't all it could be, and these images took me into a beautiful and happy place. Loving your video, thank you - Happy stitching. PS - not sure which Mira group this is in, but a couple of years or so I remember someone doing a version of Garden Verses where she stitched in a whole garden! It was beyond stunning and wish I could remember who stitched it.
Pam here...loved your L&L patterns gifted to you. Have Nantucket Rose as a WIP 🌹. Just had to snag Lady of the Thread, too! 💝💝. Also have JE's Time Traveler as a WIP. Such fun 😊.
Your hair looks so pretty Samantha. Is Oak Crown Studios in Canada? Your piece of fabric is fabulous and I love how you placed the fairy. Oh yes, Nina from Nina_hobbysite is stitching the full coverage of Merry Mushroom Village Picnic. She is working on the lower right hand corner where the fairy is sitting on the yellow mushroom. I'm not sure but I think it's Lori of Once Upon a Stitch that is working on Under the Friendship tree.
Hi Linda !! I use a magnetic board with ruler to keep track of where I am. I tend to start right in the middle of the design and selecting a symbol that’s easy to see/read. Start with that and you can’t go wrong !!
bonjour Samantha Merci pour cette vidéo pourriez vous me donner le nom du patron avec la femme et les oies que vous présentez à 53 minutes de la vidéo Merci à bientôt bye bye
Hi Mary! Yes, the company is called Oak Crown Studios and if you go to the description on this video I have linked the website. Amy is very talented!!!

Wonderful! So far it’s been super fun!!! Thanks for watching and I hope you stick around to see this one come together over time ❤
@@HyggeStitcher I also stitched Rose of Sharon twice! Once 1994 on aida and then just finished her again this year. I did the first one for my mom and wanted her for myself. I also did her skin 1 over1 on 28 count. Know I need to do her companion piece Rose Arbour
Oh no I am in a trouble - want to start Butterfly fairy from Mirabilia as well😊
Where did you get the Nora Corbett chart love all your work
That fabric from Crown Oak is gorgeous. I would be afraid to bleach fabric for stitching
@@lee-annbender5515 Tbh I'd be concerned about the bleach residue in the fabric causing problems in the future (and I'd make a huge mess of it!)
❤❤❤
I purchased a Lavender and Lace pattern, but have no idea how to start since the pattern is a single large chart. Any suggestions????
Hi Linda !! I use a magnetic board with ruler to keep track of where I am. I tend to start right in the middle of the design and selecting a symbol that’s easy to see/read. Start with that and you can’t go wrong !!
What kind of stand do you use to put your Qsnap on?
Hi, I use a Lowery with the corner clamp for a snaps! Love this stand
I use a Lowery stand aswell. The corner clamp is on my wish list!! Thank you for watching ❤
bonjour Samantha Merci pour cette vidéo pourriez vous me donner le nom du patron avec la femme et les oies que vous présentez à 53 minutes de la vidéo Merci à bientôt bye bye
Could you give us the name/contact information again of the person who does the hand dying of the fabric. And how to reach them.
Hi Mary! Yes, the company is called Oak Crown Studios and if you go to the description on this video I have linked the website. Amy is very talented!!!
Thank you so much. I will check out her web site. I have stitched almost all of Lavender and Lace patterns.
Blit stitch did that L&L in the yellow dress. He finished her last year I believe.
