Dear Mam , for the confirmatry test can we also add purple coloured KMNO4 solution along with original solution and what , we observe that the purple colour of KMNO4 get decolourised so that , it confirms that salt contains Sulphite ions :)
Ma'am in book it has been written on adding dil HCL BaCl2 is confirmed but in video you were saying concentrate HCL so on adding dil HCL will white ppt dissolve or not pls tell ma'am

In the 2nd test, CO2- also give a white ppt with BaCl2 and that ppt is also soluble in conc. HCl.
The 2nd test can't be used for confirming SO32-

You use conc HNO3 when you are using Ba(NO3)2 as your precipitating agent.
