    Thanks wilfred west. I love seeing a non-mechanic like me muddle through this installation successfully. If you can do it wilfred, than even I can do it. A big thumbs up from me.

    Reading the comments, I wonder why so many know-it-alls are watching this video in the first place? It's obviously aimed at people like me, who don't know how to do it. Thank you.🙏🏻

    No doubt the movement of the car going over bumps etc will cause that plastic cap to cut through that thin cable in a matter of months

    Use a proper size spanner for gods sake, hate adjustable's !!

    5 minutes watching a guy try to use an adjustable. Go to Bunnings and get a set of spanners.

    Don’t have the positive terminal exposed as you might accidentally short it with your wretch. If the wretch were to make contact with the positive and ground or negative terminal. Do one at a time and cap it.

    if you are not using the correct tools, maybe you shouldn't be showing people how to do it.

    Every CTEK install guide ever: “never attach the negative to the negative battery terminal, always use chassis body ground”
    This video: “we’re gonna do the number one thing ya shouldn’t do”
    🤦🏻‍♂️

      Is it possible to attach these permanent clips to a chassis? I'm pretty sure all of the major brands wouldn't include them in their kits if they weren't supposed to be connected this way.

    • @adriano1633
      @adriano1633 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tlc6756 You can attach it to any screw basically. So yes.

      From CTEK's website - perhaps you should read before commenting?
      "Eyelet - for a more permanent connection. Simply attach the red eyelet to the positive pole and the black eyelet to the negative charge point or vehicle chassis"

      @@adamf1347 "chassis body ground" is written in every instruction manual they have, but sure, the one UK website you pull this from trumps them all huh?

    Next time do a pre video run through so you don't say all you need is a spanner, and then find that you really needed a ratchet

  • @harunyahyadotorg

    1. why not use crocodile clips,
    2, why permanently attach those clips?
    3, when you car charge the battery did you plug the charger in, (obviously)?

    • @tlc6756
      @tlc6756 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the alligator clips, you have to keep the hood somewhat open. Raiin/debris from trees can get inside engine area, and if thieves can see your hood ajar, they know they can steel engine parts (or a nasty neighbor can tamper with engine).
      Plus it's just a pain to have to take off/reapply everytime you drive.
      Then, you just attach the charger to the end after the permanent clips are installed.

      Actually for me it worked great because I saw how even though the wrench wasn't ideal, it still worked, and alot of people only have that type. As a woman , I would've just given up early, paid $$ to have a mechanic do it and wasted money. It was a nice video. Ignore the negative people. Loved the scenery too.
