Scorpion Packing Out on Yard Waste

Not too long ago, I finally had the opportunity to take out one of our new scorpions. There's a lot of good and bad things about them, but what stands out the most is the packer. It was a nice change of pace having a packer that kept the hopper constantly clear. Near the end of the video you can see me manually working the packer to try to get the last of the cul de sac on that I was in before heading to switch trucks. Hope you all enjoy

Is it just me or is there a large gap between the curved hopper wall and the swinging part of the compactor?

really enjoyed seeing the manual control of the packer here, exactly how a rear loader would be run. needless to say I've never seen that before. it's funny that you can't get creative with running the arm but you do have custom control over the packer (presumably the best part about any Scorpion). would love to see how you did that, I'm not real familiar with scorpion controls. guess I need to find a pic of their controls setup...nice job

Trashman242 glad you enjoyed watching that. It sucks that you don’t get control of the arm like a lot of trucks. The packer is really the thing that sets this truck apart. I’ll send you some videos of the operation on the truck

Mike3141981 a house in Hartford had 4 carts full of sawdust in Hartford yesterday. Let’s just say they had a fine, were reported, and had 4 carts upside down on there drive way 😂

Nate it’s semi auto and it was construction sawdust full of toxins. They breathed it which was dangerous. They gotta flip em for the supervisor and you get a fine and reported to a database for that:
