Miles Beckler Yeah, in chat they like to say "This is how it works" instead of "this is an obvious bug, thanks for reporting it". They need a publicly accessible bug tracker, like any application. ClickFunnels is actually sort of awesome compared to some funnel makers, really (minus the membership area part), but they need to take software development far more seriously. I also notice that they use Intercom for promotional emails, whereas they should be using Actionetics. That's just ridiculous. They need to "dogfood" everything they sell, like a real software company.
LOL I've been WP the whole time, was looking at ClickFunnels but realized with my tech background I didn't need it, still love learning from Russell though!
Man, I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I'm a WordPress girl and have been for years. I've been seeing click funnel everywhere and was going to try it out. Lol, not anymore! You've saved me so much time and money. THANKS TO YOU!!
Hey Miles, I recently found you after joining a course learning about FB marketing. Thank you for all your vids. They are truly amazing content with great value! Wishing you nothing but the best!
Miles, this is a great video. I have been using Thrive Themes for sometime. Apart from it being a great product, the training and support is way above anything that I have seen. They always are working to improving their product and always are listening to their customers so they can have a premium tool that they proud of.
Are we able to create membership course navigation on the left like how ClickFunnel does? I like the way how the navigation works that neat and simply. Thanks in advance.
I have to say that was refreshing! It was impressive that you put out there what "stack" you use to handle your online marketing and sales. I have considered so many from Infusionsoft to Ontraport. I presently signed up for Active Campaign and have a tech guy that I will contact on your suggestions. Thanks again!
Glad to hear it David.... Not many people willing to ignore the 40% commissions on click funnels and offer some real talk about that platform... Luckily I have a successful business and I'm not financially tied to spreading rumors.
Honestly, this is one of the best videos I've found on this topic. You really got to the nitty gritty. Thank you Miles. (Thanks for the video direct - I cleaned up my comment for privacy reasons) You're awesome!
Thanks for sharing this info. Nice to hear a product review that's not an affiliate pitch. I recently retired as a mechanical designer in Canada and moved to Thailand in order to start my next chapter in life. Right now I'm researching the idea of helping small businesses develop conversion optimized single landing page style websites they can use in ad campaigns. Found your TH-cam channel about a week ago and watched probably 50% of your videos already. Thanks for doing a great job, love the info you've been putting out. Two thumbs up!
My pleasure Dean! Sounds like I just missed you in Thailand... Are you in Chiang Mai? If so have you found Johnny's nomad coffee club meetup yet? This is brilliant.... "helping small businesses develop conversion optimized single landing page style websites they can use in ad campaigns" I would add a 2nd page to that and maybe a third (One Time Offer and Upsell) but this really is brilliant. Helping businesses that throw away money on branding based advertising (with no tracking) and focus on direct response marketing with a measurable ROI is a massive opportunity. Then it leads into all kinds of other potential services you can outsource and sell or bring partners on to fulfill... Copywriting, PPC campaigns, etc. And with your mechanical engineering background I can only see benefit in organization and structuring of everything... I mean... Why not use CAD to build a funnel? :D
The affiliate pitch is there, just more subtle. When you go to his site for ThriveCart, you get redirected to an affiliate link that costs $595 for that 1 tool as an example.
I've had a few technical issues with ClickFunnels, but so far the Membership Funnels have worked great for me. I love being able to include upsells on the Members Area :)
It can be worth it in some situations (simple funnels, no recurring payments) but I still think WordPress offers so many advantages that it is a huge step up.
@@MilesB Thanks. Honestly there is so much room for improvement in the world of membership plugins. I've been using Wishlist for a few years now - it gets the job done, but I need to purchase additional plugins to make it more efficient. Keep up the good work.
happy new year Miles great post, what is click funnels? as a company what is it? a type of template for a website? a hosting company? aka lead generation? or a membership company? they have two plans 297$ and & 97$?
Wow so grateful for this video... I'm a self-published author and I would like to create online courses and membership site. I tried New Kajabi, Teachable and Thinkific but as you said, I would like more control. I considered LearnDash or Whislist Member plug-in but not sure because I also need to consider what's the best email marketing company to start plus landing pages... I feel tired to be honest, so I can imagine how hard was for you using Click Funnels and then migrate everything. Today I was watching Click Funnels videos and almost buy, and all of the sudden your video showed up... I'm using Avada Theme for my website already.
LearnDash is a cool wordpress based system! Looked at it and it didn't fit my needs but could work well for a course that is more educational...My membership is more like access to lots of stuff, so didn't need the learning side! Here is a how to series with the theme and how to setup the funnel stuff in wordpress: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative/ If you want professional help from the guy who helped me brainstorm the right solution for my needs and implement it, reach out to Dave at IntegratePro.com use the contact link on his site and if you say Miles told you to reach out, he'll do a free skype call to help you figure out what works. He is my go-to person for help with my membership, getting the cart tied in, the email list, etc... Definitely a key player on my team! I did an interview with him if you want to vibe him out: th-cam.com/video/Wrz00t_S1p0/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much! I'm just starting out and I don't know what I'm doing! I have the 14-day trial at Click Funnels but I'm at day 1. I will continue to look for your videos and watch them! Thanks again!
if you feel like you want an alternative to Clickfunnels I have created a video series that explains how I set up WordPress to do the same thing. All those free videos are on this post www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Subscribed! Thanks for laying it out there. I've never been a fan of monthly memberships, but it's great to have a different perspective from all the others talking CF up. I was actually on a webinar where we were told that if we didn't use CF we were not serious about our business. Yeah - that kind of nonsense rubs me the wrong way. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Miles, I'm a 1 year experienced SEO niche affiliate marketer and recently I've been invited to become an affiliate to CF. Being an experienced wordpress user with a blog and good content writing, using the Divi theme from Elegant Themes which made me sortof a web "designer" as well, I spent a whole day trying to figure out what is CF and what are its benefits, etc. I realized that for a person like me who can do it all "manually" and easily, it won't do much. However, I found that the potential is there for certain business individuals who only want to focus on bringing their message out and get more customers. I am all for being 100% transparent and honest but I find this review of yours to be very negative and doesn't serve its purpose well. I would've appreciated it more if you made a type of "pros and cons" instead of bashing this amazing platform that while it might not be for ME OR YOU, and despite having issues with their customer support, many other people from different types of business would benefit a lot from it. Again, I haven't joined their team yet as I tend to study deeply the programs I'm going to join before I put my name behind it, but I'm just saying, I've seen a lot of bad reviews for products that are actually good but simply did not fit with the reviewer's needs, and I don't want you to fall for this same mistake. Remember, CF is a business like any other businesses, becareful before you bash it as it will definitely affect other people's living and income source. I tend not to do bad reviews unless the product is a scam or fraud, instead I lay down all the benefits, advantages AND disadvantages and then say my opinion as conclusion. Cheers
A whole day? C'mon... You don't have enough information to A) promote them or B) claim that it is good for people who "only want to focus on bringing their message out and get more customers." That is what Wordpress is there for mate... You know that. You are trying to rationalize your desire to join in on the 40% commissions and you are trying to convince yourself you can promote them without integrity. You really haven't tried to rely a real business on their platform... At best you are an outsider looking in perspective and you don't understand the extent of the bugs in their system. And you are thinking about promoting them! C'mon man... Clickfunnels leaked over $10,000 in revenue from my business through bugs in their code... They gave access to my paid content to people who were not paying... Also, seeing that you get SEO, you probably realize that WordPress is a far superior platform for SEO and you get how easy it is to build a system to do what Clickfunnels does on Wordpress. Which is why I laid out every single step for people here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative/
As I said, I have NOT yet joined them, I am still in the "learning them" process. I spent a whole day only studying what they have on the frontpage (It's a very long sales page) and trying to understand what each feature does. They still have more features that I haven't discovered yet. I have enough information to say that they have a product in the business niche and whether it is suited for you or not it's a different point of view. This video review came as if they were scamming people, which is very unfair to say the least. Some people make fake reviews just to earn a commission (I agree, this is the worst type), and some just bash products because they didn't like it, regardless of its true value. I can tell you from what I have seen so far that CF can be ideal for business owners who don't give a shit about wordpress, plugins, networking, coding, and all this geeky stuff regardless how super easy we find them me and you. This is the kind of people that CF focuses on. Anyways, I'm not trying to defend them or anything I have nothing to gain here by defending them, all I'm saying is that you should reconsider recording a new video review where you highlight the bad, the good, and who should invest in CF/avoid.
Elias Jireis their sales copy and the reality of the platform are very different. The promise is spot on, the delivery does not match up. It is best for people to own the control over their platform... Hence my content on WordPress I get that you aren't feeling my style here... I'm cool with that but I think people need a serious wake up call with CF because of all the affiliate BS and the intense marketing hype. Again, I recommend you take the leap and build a business on their platform for the next year, then share your opinion at that point. Right now you are blinded by their marketing material which is world class...
You don't get it, I AM a wordpress user, I know what you're talking about, in fact, a friend of mine mentioned it to me a couple of months ago, I went there, seen what they offer, and said "This isn't for me ... I can do everything on my own using my beloved Divi". I'll say it again, CF is not for people like me and you. It's more for people who only want to get busy with what they do best (whatever niche they're in) and forget about the other stuff. And from my experience so far and the knowledge that I gathered, a good sales funnel is key to good revenue (Not talking about organic SEO traffic here ...). I'll probably not going to try CF myself, because I, personally, don't need, and probably won't need it, because I can do it manually, and easily, without any help. I'm actually willing to invest in a good child theme and build an authority blog and drive traffic there for a passive income (Which I've been doing in the last year with a learn guitar niche). But think of an author for example who just wants to sell his book. CF would provide him with an instant set of tools that would make him grow following from the same hour. I'm sorry you had a very negative experience with them and I'll surely mention your case to them and see what they have to say about it. Please take my criticism objectively. Again, think twice before making such reviews on "real" businesses. There's no harm in highlighting the weakness points but I really felt this was kindof a bashing rather than an objective review. I might or might not join CF, but I know one thing, I don't put my name behind any product just for the sake of earning money. I want to build a reputation for myself and no money is worth risking that. At best I would find what CF is strong at, who would benefit from them the most, and then market CF to those people because you are right, they do have a strong affiliate program with amazing commissions. But I'd never trick people into it just for money. If you'd like me to share my niche website for you to see the kind of reviews I do, I'll happily share it with you here.
I think you are missing my point. You can't (with integrity) recommend CF until you use it. You are telling me how you feel I should approach this video as someone who has never used the platform. I believe the author in your example would be better served with a WordPress site and content marketing. Judging by your actions (not your words) you do too. To say that you think Click Funnels would be good for people when you have never used it and don't plan to use it is the problem. The idea is solid. Their marketing is compelling. Their execution is buggy and that can cost business owners big time. Only someone who has built a funnel on the system (I'm that person here) would know that. I drove millions of visits to my CF setup. My real world test proved that it is not something to be relied on by serious business owners... Hence my stance. I encourage you to leave WordPress and build your business on CF if you are going to tell others CF would be good for their business. Walk your talk!
Now that is a very good question… My honest answer is that I don't have enough experience with both platforms to give you a definitive answer. Ezra Firestone is a shopify gangster and does amazing things on that system, but it is a closed system. Woo commerce plays very nice with the SEO benefits of WordPress and offers a lot of compatibility and functionality that ties in the many other really cool systems… But I think you'd need to be a little more code friendly or have a developer/designer nearby to really pimp woo commerce to the level. Is grit grind hustle getting a store?
Agreed. I'm liking Shopify, but I feel like WooCommerce might be more my style because I', pretty comfortable with WordPress. I'd definitely say Shopify is better if someone was just starting out. They take care of a LOT of the challenges of building an eCommerce platform. I'll update you on specific store stuff in a facebook message.
I don't, but I think I need to do an 'integration' video sometime soon when I get a chance... I did hire the team at www.integratepro.com to help me get it all together and Dave there helped me a bunch.
Holy cow! I'm building my site with Thrive as we speak. It's my 1st membership site and hearing this just validates this decision. I never even thought to use clickfunnels but def glad I didn't start with them.
Wow! Thank you so much for eye-opening video, Miles. I have been using ClickFunnels for 2 years and here of lately, they have been EXTREMELY buggy. I will be looking into ThriveThemes for hosting membership sites in the future. Don't like hosted content that I cannot control and of course, losing my money.
I 100% agree with you... If their product stood up to the marketing hype from them and their affiliates, I'd love it... But the truth is much different than what they're "selling"
Thanks for sharing! While looking for simple help on ClickFunnels I turned to TH-cam as I received error messages and my domain showed page not found. Every time I needed help I could only use their chat. There are no phone numbers. Trying to explain an issue over chat is difficult - at least for them. They kept telling me that it was FaceBooks problem, It was my domain's host's problems. To me, no matter what ClickFunnels is great at, their support is does not work. So, I am ending my membership today.
Tough to deal with chat as a main 'support' medium. If you haven't found the clickfunnels alternative i'm using already, this post shows the entire setup... www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Hey Miles! I have to hand it to you, you're a beast at answering questions in this comments section! Thanks in advance for your response. As you evaluated the feature differences between ActiveCampaign vs. Mailchimp, what was the kicker that made you pull the trigger on Active Campaign? Thanks for your time!
Great question Kevan. Active campaign is much more similar to Infusionsoft where you get advanced automation tools, tagging, and lead scoring. (With a lot less confusion) Active campaign has a plug-in they created called active member 360 that picks up the tags from active campaign and gives users access to certain pages or posts based on the tags. Then, thrive cart is able to place tags or run automations on customers based on new purchases, failed payments, restart failed payments, refunds, etc. Mail chimp is much simpler... And honestly, I gave up on mail chimp years ago due to deliverability issues some not all that in tune with where that platform stands today. The real kicker was that the integration specialist I hired to help manage this process highly recommended this marketing stack as a way for me to get into the "new age of marketing" for some advanced retargeting and segmenting features that just aren't possible on simpler auto responders. His name is Dave and his site is IntegratePro.com If you are curious
Right on Miles! Thanks for the deep response. Can you briefly tell me if you see any problems with this. I think my stack solution is going to look something like this; [1. Move my site, www.believerworldwide.com, from Webflow to WordPress, 2.Move from Shopify to WooCommerce for checkout, + TBD plug-in for upsell funnel 3. Active Campaign for email automation 4.Agora Pulse for Social Publishing. 5. Google Analytics] Are you seeing anything major I'm missing? (I'm selling physical products). Thanks again!
Seems legit! be sure to get your Facebook tracking pixel all over your site and your active campaign pixel so you can get some really cool retargeting an email segmenting automation on your side. Remarketing to people who sorry checkout page but didn't buy is going to be some seriously low hanging fruit once that's all set up!
Thanks for all this great content. I've had to build tech stacks before and had been considering Thrive, but was also looking at CF, but even during demos put together by their customers (like Frank Kern) the bugs are apparent. It's tough to build one-size fits all platforms, and I am a huge fan of WordPress already. But this is my first foray into funnels more complex than hubspot vanilla.
You really nailed it that 'it is tough to build one-size fits all platforms' ....Very true! Wordpress offers that flexibility I like to know I can grow and adapt it as needed in the future. You may enjoy this video where I interview the guy who put together the marketing stack I used to get off Clickfunnels: th-cam.com/video/Wrz00t_S1p0/w-d-xo.html
do you have any opinion on the divi theme? we're using that one and it seems to work pretty well for what we do, I hadn't considered the thrive theme though.
if you have already purchased it, it is good enough to get you into momentum and up to that 10 K per month mark. It is a little slow and clunky though which is why I left it many years ago
Hi Miles. I followed yr advice to a Tee but running into block after block. The AM 360 support ( I went ahead and purchased this membership plugin) contacted me to say they don't support Thrive Apprentice. And the video tutorial you pointed me to was great but he focuses on Learn Dash stacked with 360, AC, Buddy Press, etc. So at a point the video doesn't work for me. I searched your content and can't locate any clear info about how to do this. I've been weeks on this. Can you help or be hired? Or do you have a video that shows how you pulled a thrive theme/Thrive Apprentice/ together with these other plugins (AC & AC360 & Thrive Cart) to drip courses? Thanks.
This is strange and it has happened to a few people... Are you able to simply use WordPress pages to deliver your course? Try seeing if AM360 will successfully 'protect' a regular page next... If so, see if that will work for your delivery. Another option people go with is using "Learn Dash" like Dave shows in this video: th-cam.com/video/8aeepab24_M/w-d-xo.html
@@MilesB I received a message from Dave. He's going to work with me so looks like this will be solved. We have a meeting Monday. Thanks for all your help.
Awesome video thanks so much for sharing your setup! I am just looking to set up a member site, so I'm very thankful having read this. I was wondering how you handle affiliate tracking with the Wordpress / Activemember setup. Since Clickfunnels has a built in affiliate tracking / payout system (i think they call it Backpack) I was hoping you have worked out a good equivalent for that?
Still new with it, but I may do a behind the scenes vid soon with Thrive. Have you found their apprentice feature? Only works on some of there themes, but is totally cool for this! thrivethemes.com/introducing-thrive-apprentice/ And with that said, I think they are working on a new and improved system to replace this with even more functionality!
From what I gather the Apprentice feature isn't a full membership site solution. You're a high level marketer and it's great to have you in Thrive Themes family. I hear what you say about CF. Hopefully you can work with Thrive (Shane and Paul) and they can roll out a fully functional membership system without some of the glitches of other platforms.
To manage the access to your 'members area' that is built on Thrive's apprentice system you need a plugin to handle that... MemberMouse.com is a good one because it handles checkout and access to the content. Thrive is just a theme... So just the 'look' and 'layout' not the functionality of making sales and giving customers access to the appropriate pages... Just the look of those pages. Make sense?
I used S2 member a few years ago so got the idea. Optimize Press used to be one of the best but like the Thrive Themes system better. An all in one solution is tough to find. I'll look at the membermouse.
Thanks Miles for this video. I'm doing some research on product launches and CF happened to have a product launch funnel built already. I know I can set all of this up via my WordPress blog but I really don't want to build a funnel or hire someone to do it. Would you recommend CF in this instance?
I guess the simple question is... Are you willing to pay upwards of 10x more (up to $3236/year more) for a less functional and less customizable system that has a pre-built funnel in it? This post breaks down the costs: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/ This video series shows the 'how to' of building out a ClickFunnels alternative on WordPress if you would like a tutorial: th-cam.com/play/PL0sOKzn__yK3iOONk6-QP0Se2G23ZcuWL.html
Yes, I have been thinking about leaving Click Funnels. There are some really great features, but I am having to do some cash flow reality checking and match outlays to needs. I absolutely want to manage money in a way that upkeep does not become the downfall, as my mentor says. I've been using iglooapp.com/ to build landing pages and the basic membership sites like Click Funnels does.... but with drip and some other nice features... I teach a business plan course at community college and I feel much better recommending a one-time expense than ongoing, especially for startups... I'm watching your video on what you'd do if you have to start over now... Great stuff & thanks again.
+alorrinda managing cash flow is the #1priority for sure! For me the WordPress systems offer the most flexibility because it lends itself to content marketing/SEO/blogging and funnels. I did a bit of a price analysis in this blog post that you may enjoy: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
Miles, I'm in the middle of 90 day challenge. Now migrate my blog to Thrive too! Thanks for this info. I learn the hard way lesson, paid developer for "little thing" in my blog. and it took 2 months. he spoke in languange that i didnt understand. felt like he did it in purpose, that makes me more confuse! Thankyou for saving my time in the future. Yesterday is lesson to learn. Your content is gold.
Yes, I plan to do a whole series on that theme... I've got a busy travel schedule and hotels for almost 2 weeks, before I settle in somewhere I can pull that off... But indeed, that is my plan! Thanks for the suggestion and encouragement!
Miles, appreciate your video here. Thanks for cutting through the hype. We also use a wordpress based system. Our community area is built on a protected forum. We actually put all our courses in forums, just embed the video and links and boom, got a course. Its awesome being in TOTAL control of your platform.
We actually tried the all in on the forum at one point, it was a little confusing for our older demographic.... LOL. I know James Schram Co. is very successful with the forum-based product delivery and teaches that to his students. Nothing like being in total control! :D
I really appreciate the info. I hadn't even thought about it before...why would I have, right? When everybody else is singing CF's praises, you don't know if it's the affiliate program or a real review - you know what I mean? It could just be the affiliate commission talking. As I am writing this it's just dawned on me that Franklin Hatchet speaks very fondly of you. You were one of his mentors he speaks about. I think he has modeled you from afar. You showed him what was possible. I definitely appreciate you.
Hey Miles, appreciate the video, one suggestion though, please do test your website on mobile devices or use Hotjar to track how your site appears to your visitors. Because I've had this problem with one of the landing page building plugin by Thrive called Thive Architect (previously called Thrive Visual Builder) where the site was breaking on mobile devices, images appearing out of elements, DIV etc.
i have stop paying for funnel-university which is the product of click funnel. and till this day which is like 1 year or so. i still have access to the content.
Hi Miles, i built a pretty rough site using optimizepress 18 months ago, i'm now at a point where i need to redo my site and it definitely needs a good membership option and funnel. Would you suggest that Thrive themes is a better option if i'm considering scrapping most of my old site?
Good call, Miles, you scared the crap out of me there when you revealed that CF was allowing non-payers to view your content. I was 2 days into my trial @ $297 / mo. (Which I had serious doubts about!) Many thanks. Subscribed. Norm.
Hi Miles, thank you for posting and sharing. Question what video of yours do you recommend to learn what sales funnels are and how to do them? I dont have my website in Wordpress.. thanks for the help!!
This is exactly what I've been thinking about because I think it's a dangerous thing to be putting all your assets on these kinds of systems because like what you said if something goes wrong you can't even move forward without going to support who's not probably helpful. Whereas with open source cms like Wordpress, you can easily get some THAT WILL respond to you, to help you move forward. And you own everything. I'm hoping I could create a more streamlined process to make it as easy as possible for people to get started but at the same time, owning it instead of paying for one-stop-solutions like CF. Glad I found your video, Miles! I subscribed.
Totally agree! the ability to jump on up work and hire an expert to solve a problem right then and there.... Versus getting the "runaround" or "pass the buck" response From click funnels support... Priceless! Dangerous is the correct word, for sure!
Thanks for your video Miles, I appreciate the great content, Question for you, when you are doing the move, is moving your customer's emails, easy to do, How does that transition work?
As long as they actually opted in, and you reach out to the company you are migrating to before it is usually super simple... Export list from one, import to the other. Ask to make sure they will let you upload the list and not have to re-confirm since they already confirmed. They 'get it' and can even help import the list, sometimes. But even DIY it is super simple
Hi, Miles. Thanks for this detailed explanation. We're just getting started on the path of creating a membership site, and this video was extremely helpful. We're currently nearing the end of the 14-day free trial with CF. We gave it some serious thought, and realize that CF is likely not the solution for us because we'll be adding weekly content for our members. Taking a look at Thrive Themes now. We're considering using MemberPress with ConvertKit. Do you know much about how that combination would work with Thrive Themes? Also- what product did you purchase in Thrive Themes? Their annual membership looks like a great deal, but are all those components necessary? If so, do you recommend the "Thrive" or the "Agency" Membership if we eventually plan to use it on 2 sites?
MP + CK should work perfect with Thrive. I went with Thrive annual and yes, the 'thrive leads' and 'content builder' on top of the themes made it totally worth it for me. No need for agency if you own both sites... Agency is if you 'sell' services and use Thrive for others... I have thrive on several sites with the basic membership. If you haven't seen their fast start funnel creation series, check it out here: milesbeckler.com/wordpress-funnel Very 'clickfunnels' esque and shows you how to do the same stuff in Thrive. Should be very good foundation for long term growth!
Sorry to hear about your troubles with CF. It seems like a nice platform, even though I haven't tested it yet. But it's surprising, because Russell offers amazing free value as well, so you'd think CF should offer an amazing support. Anyway, quick question about ThriveThemes. I haven't used them in a while and a few months ago they still haven't fixed or found a work-around for this, so wanted to get your opinion on this. What I don't like about their optin popup (or lead box) is that there's no way to add a tracking pixel (FB or any other type) that fires only when the popup appears. In the code, the popup is generated on page-load, which basically will fire the pixel in the pupup code as well on pageload, while I (and many others, from what I've seen on their blog) want to be able to fire 2 different pixels, one for pageload, one for popup shown for better tracking, reporting, retargeting, etc. Did you use this and found a work-around? This is one of the biggest things I hated about Leadpages as well, and it bothers me since it's a simple thing to code. I mean, an experienced developer could do this in one day max, including testing, etc. It's all about loading asynchronous the scripts on the leadbox, that's all. Now there are full sites created asynchronously, can't they make a simple popup work like that? That's disturbing, honestly.
For anything I need to track (like my FB traffic) I send them to a page with a headline and a button that pops up the optin form. So my pixel fires on page load. Then the next pixel on my OTO page if they make it through the form. I test the text on the pop like a standard split test, so mirror the text on the page that loads exactly, then just test different click-pop text. It isn't perfect, but it works for me.
Thank You for all Your insight, I was hoping to find out what the Monthly cost is now for Your New Platform using WP, and also what Hosting Service You Are Using ? kind regards, Diana
Depends on a few factors, like how long you sign up for each component (they give price breaks for paying annually up front) One viewer just set up a site based on my DIY Sales Funnel series ( th-cam.com/video/YsUNFZhqkEA/w-d-xo.html ) And it cost him around $300 for the whole year... I think $19/mo for the autoresponder is the only monthly recurring and that doesn't start till month 2.
I like Kajabi...very good membership platform that is very easy to use and to customize. No programmers, advanced Wordpress skills, etc. or technical Mumbo-Jumbo to deal with.
Another amazing video. I am using wordpress with OP2 Theme. When I create a fb ad should I create a new domain with a landing page to send the fb traffic too versus sending the traffic to a landing page on my main website ? Thanks Miles
I just send people to a page on my main site that is a dedicated squeeze page... So there is no navigation, not really anything else they can do other than leave or opt in. OP2 is perfect for that. No need to keep adding on domains...
sorry I worded that wrong. Can you go over what fb ads you would and wouldn't do that would get you in trouble with facebook. I thought facebood doesn't like affiliate stuff.. Thanks Miles.
+Brent Peluso just build your list and be of service to your audience... I know they shut down accounts for all kinds of reasons... But no experience personally... So I don't really know.
Miles, first of all thank you for your videos, and always responding to my questions. I look forward to your daily videos. I would love it if you could go into more detail on the Thrive Themes, and Active campaign, and Active member 360. How do you connect all this. I feel so dumb. I am making progress. I'm not one to give up. Again, Thanks so much.
Victoria, to be perfectly honest I hired Dave at www.integratePro.com to manage this set up for me. If you reach out to him for help, be sure you let them know that Miles sent you as he takes care of my friends and will usually do a free one-on-one call to see if you and hear a fit, if he has time.
Thanks for sharing! Would you use the same systems for a non-drip membership site? (e.g. a self directed online course where access to entire course at once is granted) Thanks!
Great question.... And honestly, it is a coin toss. One question I have for you is... Do you have any WordPress experience at this point? If so, I'd lean towards continuing down that path. The more I reflect on CF and my business, in general, the more I realize how important it is to retain control over all aspects of your business, down to the software the funnel/website is built on. Wordpress being built on an open source platform that allows infinite customization vs. ClickFunnels being built on a closed platform limits customization, troubleshooting and puts you at the whims of a 3rd party with zero recourse. That can have some seriously negative long-term impacts on your business... What if they sell CF to a 3rd party (LeadPages did) what if that 3rd party offers even worse support? They sell a short term benefit of 'saving time' when really they have so many more potential long-term detriments... To me, I'm happy I canceled my account there and am "out from under" their reign. Hope that helps.
Thanks! I'll be looking into Active Member 360 this week to see if it is a good fit. At the very least I will make sure everything I ever build in an editor (CF or other) is backed up off-site as hard code.
I also have MemberMouse on one site that works really well and is simple... It has the checkout page, does the product deliver/content protection, etc. There are several WP plugins that can do the job well... ActiveMember requires ActiveCampaign (email) but gives me the tagging and automation power of infusionsoft for way less $$$. That tagging/automation stuff isn't necessary, but I have some long term plans on how to put it to use to continue to grow my membership, which is why I chose it.
Hi Miles, thanks a lot for you amazing videos and all the knowledge you share and your clear presentation! I spent the last three days researching platform and programs in order to make a total new start with my marketing. I was rather impressed with ClickFunnels, however still had a bit of a strange feeling because of the one-stop-system and therefore the dependency of it. I used ActiveCampaign before and was very happy. However I do need now a platform with which I can EASELY create sales-funnels. I did look into Thrive Themes now and it feels great. Still I didn't really find a real funnel builder. It seems to me it rather offers (besides other amazing features) a kind if LeadPages thing. Am I mistaken? What do you use to build your funnels? I would be very grateful for a short reply. Many, many thanks! Christian.
+Christian I use Thrive for my funnels... They have a plugin that works with their themes. These videos show how to set it up www.milesbeckler.com/wordpress-funnel The videos aren't me... The Thrive team... Video 2 gets into it
Can you talk a little about how a wordpress site is able to grant and withdraw access to members when using stripe either as a standalone or with an intermediary like samcart etc for payments? Thanks.
You will pretty much always need a plugin to interface with Samcart/Stripe and your WordPress site. I'm using ActiveMember360 (that connects ActiveCampaign [my email service] and Wordpress) and this is a bit more complex than most beginners need. MemberMouse is a great option and it eliminates the need for SamCart as it includes the checkout page... You integrate Stripe to MM, integrate your email service to MM and configure it like a normal plugin on Wordpress... Product A gives access to pages /a, /b, /c.... Product B gives access to pages /c, /d, etc.
Hi, Miles. Thank you for sharing your insight with us. I realized that creating a membership site with Clickfunnels will not be ideal. Do you still use Clickfunnels for the Optin, Funnel and Thank you pages?
@@MilesB Thank you Miles!! I was also checking out Builderall, as it has integrated an autoresponder so I would not have to pay separatedly for that. Itt has an affiliate program too linked to it, so you can make commisions. It doesn't seem very difficult, in terms of learning curve. Would love to hear your thoughts on this too :)
Hi Miles, great information. I am raw-handed. I have purchased Thrive Architect. What is the difference between Thrive Architect and Thrive Theme and why one needs both? I want to be able to use WooCommerce, eventually. Will Thrive Theme / TA integrate with Woo Commerce? Many thanks.
Hi Miles. I really like your content and the videos I have seen. You seem trustworthy and transparent. I am new to the space of internet marketing. I do feel I have a unique product/service. Its more of a one time buy than a membership. I am looking for an easy(er) solution to create a sales funnel. My question is: Being new to the game, should I use click funnels? Or should I be hiring someone experienced in CRO/LPO(landing page optimization)/FB ads to help set this up and run this campaign for me. Thanks and I look forward to more of your content, ideas and products.
So have you tested the idea? I'm all about minimum viable testing th-cam.com/video/1cEzmc-_GCI/w-d-xo.html Honestly, this is the setup I recommend... In the 'shopping cart' video I show a simple one-off purchase I used to make my first few hundred k online... th-cam.com/video/YsUNFZhqkEA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this. Miles, we tried it out last year and had a lot of the same issues. I know they are nice guys and will probably get it fixed, but that does not currently pay the bills. :) And it still may be great for those people that do not have a Membership component.
I've used upwork for other tasks, but how do I go about finding a quality developer for my wordpress site and how much should I be paying to migrate my clickfunnels content to a thrivetheme site? Thanks. Love your videos.
it all depends on what country they are in and what their level of expertise is.I assume you could find someone in the US for $20-$35 per hour if you are looking in the Philippines you could probably find someone for $10-$15 per hour. I look at past references/reviews and the comments
Hi Miles, this video has really helped. I also read the article that goes with it at your blog. Thank you for your fantastic review, you covered all the bases. I can't wait to implement your ideas. Many, many, many thanks 🤗
Hi Miles, I see you did "Scaling Facebook Ads The Easy (And Profitable!) Way" video. So I am asking if you can do another video about scale ad strategy, including Looklike audience. Thanks.
Great to hear... Remember that it is a marathon and a sprint... Build it for the long term and a great funnel can reap rewards for YEARS after it is all dialed in. Worth the effort!!!
Hey, i was just wondering what websites/programs do you suggest i use for an affiliate marketing program that sells luxury products? I'm interested in creating funnels, building my email list, etc.
i really appreciate this video, i just started delving into click funnels so knowing that it's not the best platform to use in terms of its membership site usability is helpful, i love your videos btw (thumbs up) keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the reply! My last question for now is regarding click funnels by Russell Brunson. Is the Click Funnels software that he promotes the best option for people like me who are new to online marketing (notwithstanding membership site support)? It comes with a $297/month subscription and if there's cheaper software out there that has the same/similar capability i'd love to know. Thanks again for your advice, it's really appreciated!
Thanks Miles! Would you recommend Click Funnels (membership sites notwithstanding) for beginner online marketers? Just trying to justify the $297/month subscription fee, thanks again for your advice!
Hey Sammy... I think ClickFunnels is a solid option for simple funnels but you don't need the $297 option and you can start with the $97 option plus getting an email autoresponder. There is also a Wordpress based system that breaks down to nearly half that monthly price if the cost is too high... but takes a bit more 'work' to put together (not much, but a little). Check out this blog post I made where I broke down the options and their pricing as best I could: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
Thanks a lot! I already knew Thrive themes and you confirm what I think about them. They are awesome. I've never thought about building a sales funnel through thrive themes so thanks a lot. I was searching for this. By the way, can we build a simple but complete sales funnel selling 1 upfront + 1 upsell with only thrive themes? Thank you.
You need to add on a shopping cart, but yes you can. And a shopping cart can be an inexpensive one-time purchase.... You can see the tutorial series I did on how to build a DIY sales funnel here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
QUESTION:: How many funnels you run at any given time. Do you have a number or percentage between Afillate funnels and personal. how many do you feel we should run after having a firm grasp on the process. Thanks for your time Miles. god bless
Great question... My goal is to have one solid 'Cold Traffic' funnel.... And that is it. I'm a big fan of minimizing the moving pieces I have to look after... So the cold traffic funnel connects me with new people (I'm using this without the downsell right now: th-cam.com/video/KzSaoDf_VuQ/w-d-xo.html ) That grows my list... After they are on my list, I do point them to affiliate products, and point them to other funnels, like my membership... But since they are 'warmed up' to us, everything works better at that point. So I really give 80% of my focus to that cold traffic funnel. Also, remember that I'm nearly 10 years in on this particular business... I started with this funnel for nearly 3 years... To figure out what worked, what got my audience to take action, what didn't work, etc: th-cam.com/video/nHvGwU8trgo/w-d-xo.html
Miles' You have my attention for one main reason, you give so much, constantly I was just about to join clickfunnel and was doing my final research to move forward, and bam!! I see this and I have been following you, have heard you speak of Thrive funnel platform in wordpress, and I do presently have wordpress and GetResponse Email Marketing, again thank you, Lastly I have witness companies who take on huge projects and massive audiences experience major issues.
How are you tracking analytics of clicks on page, clickfunnels offers such great analytics especially when managing an affiliate program and tracks actual sales. How do you do this with Thrive?
Google analytics mainly. Obviously I've got my Facebook pixel installed and I cross-reference my hard data from the email list and my shopping cart. My shopping cart handles all of the affiliate program tracking and even the PayPal mass pay, super easy.
Can you go a little more in-depth on what you currently use? It sounds like you're using Wordpress + Thrive to build your funnels (landers, sales pages, upsells?), ActiveCampaign to handle your email list (good choice), ActiveMember360 to handle membership authorizations, and then Thrive Apprentice to manage your membership content. Is that correct? And.. does Thrive have one-click upsells?
I highly *DON'T* recommend DAP... Their support is terrible... But I'm kinda married to it from legacy past decision... Just wanted to share what my other site uses.
Miles, great video. I agree that clickfunnels is still a bit buggy. What are your thoughts on ontraport? I've been thinking about using a combo of clickfunnels, activecampaign and thinkific. It's too bad there's not a solid option for an all-in-one platform out there.
I know a few people using it successfully. All in one platforms often are great at one or two things an suck at others. I think the best stacks are ones that work together cleanly, each designed by a team of specialists... Wordpress + Thrive Themes + Thrive Cart + AC + AM360 is an example.
Content marketing and list building is exactly how we started... We had no money to invest at first... So we invested our time and energy creating content to build an audience.
Ummm.... This video is about how I left CF?!?! I have some legacy content around for sure, but I'm all in on Thrive and teach my whole process with thrive here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
With their monthly payment system being buggy, should I just use another service to take care of that part specifically and integrate it into ClickFunnels? Do they allow that?
I do believe it's possible to integrate a different payment system... When I started the migration, I thought I was can leave click funnels in place for part and integrate another system to work with click funnels. The integration specialist I hired had warned me against this approach because it created unnecessary complexity which leaves room for problems in the future. His recommendation was to move to a unified system that was stable and rely on one system to handle everything.... And now that I've completed the migration I am so thankful I did!
Really love the value you're giving in your videos man. I'm getting ready to launch my first membership product in a few months and I'm currently hunting for the best website to do everything I need.
Hey Miles, thanks for sharing your experience. We are just getting started with the ListGrow model and had decided on Clickfunnels (partly due to your earlier videos). We have also considered OptimizePress 2.0 as an all in one solution for a WordPress based blog, membership site, funnel builder with integration to Stripe, etc. Do you have experience or an opinion about OP vs ThriveThemes? Thanks again for all your videos.
My take on OP vs. Thrive is 6 in one hand, half dozen in the other. They do essentially the same thing and your best bet is to commit to one and stick with it. Either/Both should be good once you learn the in's and out's. Man, I hope I didn't lead you astray with the previous videos on Clickfunnels... it was ok with them until I realized my re-bills were failing and customers still got the product access... That was the 'Oh crap, I must move-moment'. All in all adaptability is a key part of the game!
Miles Beckler thanks Miles, choosing a technology is a challenge in a fast moving field. No leading astray at all. I totally get your reasoning. I want a platform that is committed to my business model. Thank you for sharing your journey in real time. adaptability...sage advice. Thx again
Wow, thanks, Miles. that is some serious info. So hard to know what works in these new systems and what is a throw away. Sounds like clickfunnels is good on the marketing side but not sure about their email functions and the membership sounds pretty weak.
You nailed it... And their army of affiliates plus their excellent sales material make it sound like the be-all end-all... but it is still buggy and having growing pains. Not for me to build my long-term business on, for sure.
Hi Miles, thank you for this information. I really think you should remove your affiliate link to Click funnels within you video titled: What Is A Marketing Funnel?
Ya, tons of legacy content around with how many videos and blog posts I've published over the years... Probably not going to have time to sort through all of it.
Hey Miles, What advice would you have for someone who's looking to get started in the internet marketing space? I have a course that I developed but I don't know where to start? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
+FIT Method 413 Circuit Training Gym holy goodness... $4000???? That is a LOT of money and this stuff is EASY to put together. Better to spend that money on FB ads and training in that area IMO
I saw some of your videos over the weekend! I'm going to try my first funnel through Thrive through the link you provided. I'm also going to dive into the course you suggested for FB. jasonhornungagency.com/profit-maximizer-training-fb/ Is this the best way to start with FB ads? Thanks Miles.
Was just considering Thrive or CF. Thanks for your story it helped. If you don't mind Miles, what would be the best affiliate solution to integrate with active member 360, cannot see anything about affiliate integration on their site? Thanks
Hey Tony, thanks for the comment... So I'm using Thrive card to manage the checkout process and they just rolled out an affiliate module that works with Thrive cart. You drop a couple of resources/links here below for you if you want more information. First I just completed a post on my site about Thrive or ClickFunnels; which goes a bit deeper as a direct comparison, here: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/ then I want to introduce you to my integration guy who actually got the active member working with Thrive the way I wanted (and helped me get going on Thrive cart) during this transition… His name is Dave and he is at www.integratepro.com he is super helpful and super friendly but most importantly incredibly smart when it comes to integrating multiple systems together and making different systems communicate with each other the way they should! If you reach out to him tell him Miles sent you.
Hi Miles. Great work, very generous. Question - have you looked into insta suite? It's only $997 lifetime. I like seeing the funnel mapped out and being able to split test. I need to make a decision which way to go:-)
Never heard of it... I'm all in on WordPress as it is simple, it works, easy to use and offers the most freedom. I cover my exact structure here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Miles, I have a niche jobsite and I would like to increase conversions via a funnel. Would you recommend click funnels or this or can this be done with thrive themes and cart? Do you think funnels work well with job sites?
I've used Thrive Themes before, it was a bit clunky in my opinion and some of the visuals are look pretty dated....but I understand they have been tested by Shane and his team in terms of conversions. Have you had any experience with instabuilder 2.0? I am definitely going to be buying Thrivecart! Awesome looking product!
Awesome video, Miles. Was looking for a frank evaluation of CF. Good job though I don't know how you got through this video without trashing Actionetics (hahaha!)
Seriously!?! The honest reason is because I canceled that over a year before I left because it was so bad. Active Campaign is clearly what they tried to copy (lead scoring, automations, etc) and they did a terrible job.... lol. But boy can they write sales letters... Just too bad the software doesn't live up.
Word. Yes, seriously, I thought you really took it easy on Actionetics (or maybe you didn't mention it at all - can't quite recall). But anyway, it doesn't take much probing to find the weak spots in Actionetics. For example, I loaded up some contacts and then wanted to delete a bunch of them en-mass. The answer from Support: "no can do". How is that a database? Another example - I've got automations in my funnel to tag people at different stages. This is the method they prescribe. Now after a while, I'd like to see who has certain tags. Looked in all the support docs - could not find a way to do this anywhere. So I had to contact support. Their answer 16 hours later (exact quote): "After running several test it does not look like there is a quick way to do this. ". Whaaaa? If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious. I'm about to start calling it fraud.
Hey Miles, I am just starting to set up a membership based site. I do not have wordpress experience. I don't have a huge budget either. I am wondering if you still recommend all that you did int his video? I want to get this going as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality of course. You thoughts would be appreciated! - Aaron
Are all four of the software in your stack a separate cost? If I want to take on only one cost at a time, what order do you think would be the most effective to build my own stack?
Definitely four at $10.. I'm totally new to funnels and am trying to get a better understanding of your workflow. I was drawn by the clickfunnels hype, that's how I found you.. And I see this a much better option. Now, I'm trying to piece it all together. Thanks for making this, and all your other videos!
My pleasure... Take a look at this blog post that covers the two options with a bit more detail: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/ I outline a less expensive stack in the DIY Sales Funnel series because this one has some functionality that is quite advanced due to the HUGE size of my membership program that has been growing for over 4 years. You can find that post here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative/
Thank you for your links! I have another clarifying question, if you wouldn't mind sharing some more of your wonderful insight.. You suggest Thrive Themes, Thrive Cart, Active Campaign, and Active Member 360 on this video, and thrive themes, aweber, and membermouse in the link you provided.. which of these two stacks are best for a beginner to pursue?
My mistake.. seems you already answered this question. You use the stack suggested in this video because of your huge membership size, and outline a less expensive stack in the link you provided. Thanks a lot.. learning so much, and loving all your info!
Miles how would you suggest hosting courses when using THrive. Ive just signed up for CF but am going to ask for refund I feel as the disadvantages seem too great for what I need
Oh, and by the way : I DO plan to use the 97$/month ClickFunnels account - but just to set up funnels that I will fill with Facebook ads and PPC.... Miles's bad experience with ClickFunnels seems to be related to using CF as a membership site only - and I would never use it for that. For membership sites there are (much) better solution out there, including BuddyPress. CF'S funnel management is known to be rather robust and easy enough out of the box. Its 'time-to-market' and changing funnel scenarios that are best served with CF as it allows a layperson to setup funnels very quickly without any coding.
Great stuff MIles! I ran across your youtube page a few weeks ago. I am considering clickfunnels for helping others build funnels as well as, my own personal coaching and the launch of my book. I'm not ready to go all in on spending too much money because I'd like to get some return first. What do you suggest?
I think you are asking a very good and important question at this phase. Check out this blog post where I cover a couple options and the long term cost... www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/ I think funnel building and marketing services are a great approach for a freelancing business!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences, and alternatives. As a low volume, high price information marketer and business coach, you have been helpful. Of course the concern for many of us is the built in conflict of interest due to the affiliate fees involved.
+Mitchell Levin no affiliate commission or financial benefit for me recommending WordPress!!! Use any theme you want or have it custom coded, just be sure it is on WordPress so you own the racecourse! m.th-cam.com/video/x5Z0xGodRpc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Miles, thanks for your warning. I'm doing my first seed launch right now and I need the membership part of CF now. But the moment my product is online I really will consider going to Leadpages plus a new membership site. I will not build that all in Wordpress though as I believe my company is not a developing company. I only rent software. We do not build software. So I will go with something differently. Maybe Kajabi?
As a beginner who's following your previous information do you still consider creating funnels through clickfunnel. I am not yet at a membership site yet. Would just be affiliate offers ETC
For simple funnels, affiliate funnels… It can definitely still work. The challenge are going to experiences how expensive it is for what you get. If you're minted and can afford to spend an extra $70-$250 per month and that is worth saving an hour or two every month… Go for it. I wrote a blog post the breaks down the numbers and compares click funnels with your other option here : www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
Clickfunnels is growing a MASSIVE army of affiliates, so there is a ton of hype and buzz about it... But honestly it is still buggy!
Dear Miles, would you please share the link to your paid course? Thanks, great videos.
No paid course... Just layin it all out here on TH-cam for free as clearly as I can.
How do you have less than 2k subscribers? Your material is like hidden treasure here on youtube. Thank you for taking the time.
True Very Buggy System
LOL I've been WP the whole time, was looking at ClickFunnels but realized with my tech background I didn't need it, still love learning from Russell though!
He is a brilliant marketer, for sure!
Man, I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I'm a WordPress girl and have been for years. I've been seeing click funnel everywhere and was going to try it out. Lol, not anymore! You've saved me so much time and money. THANKS TO YOU!!
You are welcome
What is it? I know how to code so I probably will stick with WordPress, but curious as to what it is.
Hey Miles, I recently found you after joining a course learning about FB marketing. Thank you for all your vids. They are truly amazing content with great value! Wishing you nothing but the best!
It is my pleasure and I'll keep dropping knowledge bombs as often as possible!
Miles, this is a great video. I have been using Thrive Themes for sometime. Apart from it being a great product, the training and support is way above anything that I have seen. They always are working to improving their product and always are listening to their customers so they can have a premium tool that they proud of.
Totally agree
Are we able to create membership course navigation on the left like how ClickFunnel does? I like the way how the navigation works that neat and simply. Thanks in advance.
Significant Clickfunnels info, which I understand many people had wished that they knew earlier. Thanks for posting this.
you are welcome
Biggest Unicorn yeah! I’ve had a nightmare with both clickfunnels and Steve Larsen’s Program!
I have to say that was refreshing! It was impressive that you put out there what "stack" you use to handle your online marketing and sales. I have considered so many from Infusionsoft to Ontraport. I presently signed up for Active Campaign and have a tech guy that I will contact on your suggestions. Thanks again!
Active Campaign an Active Member 360 are working really well together! I'm happy with the stack.
I really like this guy. Genuine.
Glad to hear it David.... Not many people willing to ignore the 40% commissions on click funnels and offer some real talk about that platform... Luckily I have a successful business and I'm not financially tied to spreading rumors.
he's one of the few internet marketing gurus who doesn't spam me. great videos too
Thanks for being honest 👍
Honestly, this is one of the best videos I've found on this topic. You really got to the nitty gritty. Thank you Miles. (Thanks for the video direct - I cleaned up my comment for privacy reasons) You're awesome!
My friend Dave sets it all up for me. He shows the process in detail in this video th-cam.com/video/8aeepab24_M/w-d-xo.html
@@MilesB Thanks so much :-)
Thanks for sharing this info.
"helping small businesses develop conversion optimized single landing page style websites they can use in ad campaigns"
I would add a 2nd page to that and maybe a third (One Time Offer and Upsell) but this really is brilliant.
+Shawn Bayley offering members more products is good for business!
I was about to join Click funnels! Gad I got to this video first. Thanks :)
It can be worth it in some situations (simple funnels, no recurring payments) but I still think WordPress offers so many advantages that it is a huge step up.
Thanks for the video - how do you like ActiveCampaign's membership plugin?
Not a huge fan but I'm stuck with it because I'm on active campaign
Here is a how to series with the theme and how to setup the funnel stuff in wordpress: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative/
If you want professional help from the guy who helped me brainstorm the right solution for my needs and implement it, reach out to Dave at IntegratePro.com use the contact link on his site and if you say Miles told you to reach out, he'll do a free skype call to help you figure out what works.
He is my go-to person for help with my membership, getting the cart tied in, the email list, etc... Definitely a key player on my team!
I did an interview with him if you want to vibe him out: th-cam.com/video/Wrz00t_S1p0/w-d-xo.html
Thank you again. I subscribed since yesterday to your channel and now I'm reading your site and watching other videos. Great content!👍
I think I'll reach out to Dave as well if you don't mind
Ouch... That is a very aggressive sales tactic. Glad we've been able to connect here!
Seriously aggressive, and those tactics do NOT work well with someone like me. Keep on doin' what you're doin'! :-)
C'mon... You don't have enough information to A) promote them or B) claim that it is good for people who "only want to focus on bringing their message out and get more customers."
That is what Wordpress is there for mate...
Hence my content on WordPress
I get that you aren't feeling my style here...
Wow! Powerful Miles! It's all about WordPress. Would you do woocommerce over Shopify?
For you, I agree WooCommerce all the way!
Do you have a video of how to setup all those different services and have them connected?
I don't, but I think I need to do an 'integration' video sometime soon when I get a chance... I did hire the team at www.integratepro.com to help me get it all together and Dave there helped me a bunch.
ok. thanks a lot. do you know when thrive cart will be open to the public?
Holy cow! I'm building my site with Thrive as we speak. It's my 1st membership site and hearing this just validates this decision. I never even thought to use clickfunnels but def glad I didn't start with them.
Good to get a little validation that you are going in the right direction! :D
(With a lot less confusion)
Active campaign has a plug-in they created called active member 360 that picks up the tags from active campaign and gives users access to certain pages or posts based on the tags.
If you haven't yet purchased, Thrive is far superior and it's worth purchasing Thrive over Divi
As a WordPress fan, I love this option. We use the Divi 3 theme. Wondering if Thrive Cart integrates well with it.
Thanks.
You would need a plugin to manage access (thrive cart is only a cart) but yes, should work fine!
Thrive cart has an affiliate module too
Oh awesome, didn't realise that - they don't mention it clearly on their sales page!
I'm Thrive Themes too. Love it. Miles you should make some training videos on how to use the membership part of Thrive.
Still new with it, but I may do a behind the scenes vid soon with Thrive. Have you found their apprentice feature? Only works on some of there themes, but is totally cool for this! thrivethemes.com/introducing-thrive-apprentice/
And with that said, I think they are working on a new and improved system to replace this with even more functionality!
Anyone heard of the 1 page funnel? I seen an add on Facebook of a guy promoting it. Thoughts?
Thanks Miles for this video. I'm doing some research on product launches and CF happened to have a product launch funnel built already. I know I can set all of this up via my WordPress blog but I really don't want to build a funnel or hire someone to do it. Would you recommend CF in this instance?
I guess the simple question is... Are you willing to pay upwards of 10x more (up to $3236/year more) for a less functional and less customizable system that has a pre-built funnel in it?
This post breaks down the costs: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
This video series shows the 'how to' of building out a ClickFunnels alternative on WordPress if you would like a tutorial: th-cam.com/play/PL0sOKzn__yK3iOONk6-QP0Se2G23ZcuWL.html
RideshareDrivingTips.com Thanks Miles! I want 10X RESULTS, not 10X expenses! Lol! I'll check out your links. U Da Man! 😊
Good for you being the captain of your ship. Thank you for this. It was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Good to see all sides of the coin, sometimes...
Are you going to do a thrive theme tutorial. just a thought. thanks Miles
Commissions skew a LOT of people's opinions
Hey Miles, appreciate the video, one suggestion though, please do test your website on mobile devices or use Hotjar to track how your site appears to your visitors. Because I've had this problem with one of the landing page building plugin by Thrive called Thive Architect (previously called Thrive Visual Builder) where the site was breaking on mobile devices, images appearing out of elements, DIV etc.
Ya, I'm testing instapages now that has heatmapping built in...
i have stop paying for funnel-university which is the product of click funnel. and till this day which is like 1 year or so. i still have access to the content.
Hi Miles, i built a pretty rough site using optimizepress 18 months ago, i'm now at a point where i need to redo my site and it definitely needs a good membership option and funnel. Would you suggest that Thrive themes is a better option if i'm considering scrapping most of my old site?
I left OP years ago and am so glad I did... Thrive is what I use so yes, that is what I recommend.
Good call, Miles, you scared the crap out of me there when you revealed that CF was allowing non-payers to view your content.
I was 2 days into my trial @ $297 / mo. (Which I had serious doubts about!)
Many thanks. Subscribed.
PS I have to add.. I looooove ActiveCampaign. Coming from helping clients with Infusionsoft, AC was a breathe of fresh air! 😂
Perfect. Thanks again! You've just made this whole figuring process a breeze.
That is great to hear! #CreateAwesomeness
Good to hear you found a platform you love. Tried kajabi a couple of times, didn't like the experience and refunded both times
What plan do you have for Active Campaign? Which one includes all the tagging and such that you mentioned?
The lowest price one. Nothing fancy
Great information, Question: if I already have a WordPress account, website and domain, do I still need to sign up for thrive themes?
Another amazing video. I am using wordpress with OP2 Theme. When I create a fb ad should I create a new domain with a landing page to send the fb traffic too versus sending the traffic to a landing page on my main website ? Thanks Miles
I just send people to a page on my main site that is a dedicated squeeze page... So there is no navigation, not really anything else they can do other than leave or opt in. OP2 is perfect for that. No need to keep adding on domains...
Thank you. Can you go over what fb ads you would and wouldn't do to send traffic to your main site ?
+Brent Peluso I send all ads to my site.
sorry I worded that wrong.
Wow...very interesting. I am on thrive now, and looking to go to click funnels. Your experience is reassuring me that thrive themes is the way to go.
+Chris Brown I really like thrive... Very happy with my decision now 4 or 5 months later!
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience!
Thanks so much for posting this video! You just helped change the course of my business and saved me a lot of money!
Glad I could be of service!
These videos show how to set it up www.milesbeckler.com/wordpress-funnel
The videos aren't me... The Thrive team... Video 2 gets into it
Thanks so much! I shall check that out!
I don't... All in on Wordpress for my funnel steps. I show how I set it all up here: th-cam.com/video/YsUNFZhqkEA/w-d-xo.html
It is a rubbish tool wrapped in an MLM scam.
I'm all about minimum viable testing th-cam.com/video/1cEzmc-_GCI/w-d-xo.html
Honestly, this is the setup I recommend...
Sometimes the easy can be too good to be true. I thank you for sharing your experiences in hopes to help us all.
my pleasure… And you are 100% correct if it sounds too good to be true it may be too good to be true
Hi Miles, this video has really helped. I also read the article that goes with it at your blog. Thank you for your fantastic review, you covered all the bases. I can't wait to implement your ideas. Many, many, many thanks 🤗
Hi Miles, can show us escale strategy hints deeply?
No entiendo amigo... Otraves por favor?
Hi Miles, I see you did "Scaling Facebook Ads The Easy (And Profitable!) Way" video. So I am asking if you can do another video about scale ad strategy, including Looklike audience. Thanks.
Have you seen this video on look alike audiences yet? th-cam.com/video/TsAXytrGwtg/w-d-xo.html
Thanks. After I see it, I will give you my feedback. See ya.
Thanks ! Very helpful i m just starting in funnel and have your honest point of view very help
Great to hear... Remember that it is a marathon and a sprint... Build it for the long term and a great funnel can reap rewards for YEARS after it is all dialed in. Worth the effort!!!
Hi Miles,
Do you have any recommendations for using Optimizepress?
I couldn't figure out their system in version 1.0 so I left and never went back. I prefer thrive.
This seems very balanced, honest and authentic. Thanks, man!
Cheers... And be nice to those pepperonis! ...They've been through a lot
Hey, i was just wondering what websites/programs do you suggest i use for an affiliate marketing program that sells luxury products? I'm interested in creating funnels, building my email list, etc.
This playlist goes into the tools and how to set them all up: th-cam.com/video/YsUNFZhqkEA/w-d-xo.html
i really appreciate this video, i just started delving into click funnels so knowing that it's not the best platform to use in terms of its membership site usability is helpful, i love your videos btw (thumbs up) keep 'em coming!
Glad you are enjoying the videos! I'm happy to share what I've learned from my experiences through the years!
Cheers Miles! The value is in the content and i gleaned tons of value here, thanks again :-)
Thank you so much for the great advice! I'm going to thrive now! Love the content!
You will be glad you did! all of my content on how to set up Thrive is here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Hi Miles. I see that you did this video in Jan 2017 and was wondering if you are still using WP as you main funnels?
QUESTION:: How many funnels you run at any given time. Do you have a number or percentage between Afillate funnels and personal. how many do you feel we should run after having a firm grasp on the process. Thanks for your time Miles. god bless
Great question... My goal is to have one solid 'Cold Traffic' funnel.... And that is it. I'm a big fan of minimizing the moving pieces I have to look after...
So the cold traffic funnel connects me with new people (I'm using this without the downsell right now: th-cam.com/video/KzSaoDf_VuQ/w-d-xo.html )
That grows my list...
How is click funnels for affiliate marketing?
Thank you
Can you go a little more in-depth on what you currently use? It sounds like you're using Wordpress + Thrive to build your funnels (landers, sales pages, upsells?), ActiveCampaign to handle your email list (good choice), ActiveMember360 to handle membership authorizations, and then Thrive Apprentice to manage your membership content. Is that correct? And.. does Thrive have one-click upsells?
Yes and yes. On my membership program you nailed my stack exactly. TC does 1 click upsells
On my other site we use SamCart and DAP...
What would you suggest? I also am starting and have minimal startup amount to invest in my business.
Content marketing and list building is exactly how we started... We had no money to invest at first... So we invested our time and energy creating content to build an audience.
Hi Miles, thanks for the great content! Is it weird to use Thrive to do affiliate marketing for Clickfunnels?
Ummm.... This video is about how I left CF?!?! I have some legacy content around for sure, but I'm all in on Thrive and teach my whole process with thrive here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Cheers!
It's definitely worth a little extra time researching and finding the one that can support you in your long-term growth.
Thx again
It is my pleasure! Keeping forward progress happening throughout all the change has definitely been a key.
Hey Miles,
What advice would you have for someone who's looking to get started in the internet marketing space? I have a course that I developed but I don't know where to start? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Build your funnel! www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative
Thanks! I'll check it out. I was about to drop $4000 on the Clickfunnels quick start program. I'm glad I saw this video.
I'm also going to dive into the course you suggested for FB. jasonhornungagency.com/profit-maximizer-training-fb/
Is this the best way to start with FB ads? Thanks Miles.
Absolutely LOVE MILES BECKLER.... AMAZING CHAP! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HONESTY AND ASSISTANCE!
First I just completed a post on my site about Thrive or ClickFunnels; which goes a bit deeper as a direct comparison, here: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
then I want to introduce you to my integration guy who actually got the active member working with Thrive the way I wanted (and helped me get going on Thrive cart) during this transition… His name is Dave and he is at www.integratepro.com
he is super helpful and super friendly but most importantly incredibly smart when it comes to integrating multiple systems together and making different systems communicate with each other the way they should!
@Miles Beckler , you seem cool , what does your membership to your services offer ?
Meditations
Miles, I have a niche jobsite and I would like to increase conversions via a funnel. Would you recommend click funnels or this or can this be done with thrive themes and cart? Do you think funnels work well with job sites?
+Andrew Tilston thrive themes on Wordpress can build any funnel you could on CF
I've used Thrive Themes before, it was a bit clunky in my opinion and some of the visuals are look pretty dated....but I understand they have been tested by Shane and his team in terms of conversions. Have you had any experience with instabuilder 2.0? I am definitely going to be buying Thrivecart! Awesome looking product!
Miles. Do you have any examples of your sites made with Thrive Themes? Just so I can get an idea of how custom you can get with Thrive Themes?
milesbeckler.com
Looked in all the support docs -
could not find a way to do this anywhere. So I had to contact support. Their answer 16 hours later (exact quote): "After running several test it does not look like there is a quick way to do this. ". Whaaaa?
If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious. I'm about to start calling it fraud.
Hey Miles,
I am just starting to set up a membership based site. I do not have wordpress experience. I don't have a huge budget either. I am wondering if you still recommend all that you did int his video? I want to get this going as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality of course. You thoughts would be appreciated!
- Aaron
This video series shows how to set it all up: th-cam.com/play/PL0sOKzn__yK3iOONk6-QP0Se2G23ZcuWL.html
Are all four of the software in your stack a separate cost? If I want to take on only one cost at a time, what order do you think would be the most effective to build my own stack?
Question: would you rather have four monthly fees of $10 per month? Or one monthly fee of $100 per month?
Definitely four at $10.. I'm totally new to funnels and am trying to get a better understanding of your workflow. I was drawn by the clickfunnels hype, that's how I found you.. And I see this a much better option. Now, I'm trying to piece it all together. Thanks for making this, and all your other videos!
My pleasure... Take a look at this blog post that covers the two options with a bit more detail: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
I outline a less expensive stack in the DIY Sales Funnel series because this one has some functionality that is quite advanced due to the HUGE size of my membership program that has been growing for over 4 years.
+JEN JEN it is all laid out here: www.milesbeckler.com/clickfunnels-alternative/
Check out this blog post where I cover a couple options and the long term cost... www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/
I think funnel building and marketing services are a great approach for a freelancing business!
So it’s now 2019 would you still suggest the websites you mentioned over click funnels?
More now than ever... Still on that system... Made my own 2 comma club with it!
Ahh I see, thank you for the blog link, I will check it out asap
