Mr. Lipscomb is certainly correct. In my haste to find the tea cup to moisten my 86 year old vocal chords I misstated the name of the play by Joyce; it is, was and will forever be “Exiles.” Thank you Mr. Lipscomb!
the things his contemporaries have to say about it sum it all up... the man was a living legend ... It's as if Van Gogh was able to realize his genius while he was still alive.
I had to read it in first year English lit at uni. (What can I say? I didn't read the course outline closely enough, and probably wouldn't have known anyway.) I finished it, I wrote the essay in compulsory adulation of it, because I am a pusillanimous poltroon, then tried to forget it, and largely succeeded. But it was years before I could bear to even hear the name without nausea, or to open a critically acclaimed novel at all. If the academy could like _Ulysses_ ,what the hell else were they capable of?
I’m hearing alot of great information here I haven’t found anywhere else. Thank you.

52:40 - 55:45 Yes but to get the upper bunk you have to pass through the other place and not many get out of there.
