When forming corners and then sewing, I like to use a geo-triangle instead of a ruler_ with the center line I place it exactly on the bottom seam: This way, the seam line drawn for the corner is stitched exactly at a right angle to the bottom seam and, when viewed from the right side, produces a flawless result!

Because unfortunately there is no transcript for this great video in which you can follow or read spoken sewing instructions, I would like to point out, especially for all sewing beginners, that when pinning the front and back together to close all the layers of fabric, the teeth of the zipper must be placed with his points towards the lining parts (see timestamp 10:21) - not towards the two layers of fabric with interfacing.
@@Utes-Trolls she gives u all the measurements of the pieces and how many to cut and what u need in the beginning, then shows you how to sew it all together. It's very easy and very self explanatory in her directions.👍

Update: I've sewed the first one - it is a test piece for myself to make sure I understood everything right. Highly recommend doing a test run first! I did misunderstand some parts and had to rip out some seams. Got one zipper slightly out of alignment. Managed to fix all my errors and it is adorable! I used narrow lined grey / black herringbone tweed for most of the outer, except the top front is black faux leather. Zippers are all black sports zippers - wider than some so they required some extra steps sewing around the pull tab. Now to start the rest that will be gifts! Thank you again. (I also learned that faux leather sticks to the sewing machine - and the gift bags won't get faux leather!) PS: I widened the strap and the tabs for the d-rings. My hardware is 3/4 inch wide - wider than shown on your tutorial I think.

The outer material I used is brushed cotton.
