Don't givee up hope man. My freshman year I played tuba, but i practice everyday, tried out for my schools drumline, and made it. Just practice a lot and it pays off.
it makes me sad to see that you don't enjoy listening to drumline, in my personal opinion, the drummers are very talented, no matter what, and the music they play is very interesting, please, let us enjoy our video that we happily came to watch:)
"The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps (also known as "the Devils", "the Devs" or merely "BD") is a World Class (formerly Division I) competitive junior drum and bugle corps. Based in Concord, California, the corps is a member of Drum Corps International (DCI) and is a fifteen-time DCI World Champion." -Wikipedia
@600bri I'm a Freshman too! My Band Director is teaching me how to play snare and I am very enthusiastic about it. I just bought a drum practice pad because the snare drum I own is very cheap and makes a bad noise. And I also bought a snare drum essentials book so that I can learn more about drumming.
@nesnaj21 If youre interested in the drumline i would recommend trying out for the C corps, but if you want to be a part of the hornline i suggest trying out for the B corps (on trumpet) you would most likely get a spot on either corps.
Here's a few point's to cover all of the nay-sayers: 1.) 95% of all TH-cam posters on drum videos will NEVER play at the level that these guys do in an ensemble setting. 2.) Most of those people that HAVE played at this level, are out walking the walk instead of talking the proverbial talk from behind their keyboards. 3.) Anyone who knows how difficult it is to achieve ensemble execution at this level would NEVER discredit a line like this for "dirt."
1:20 the second one in from the right ticks on the sticks up. :P But he makes that mistake cleanly and confidently lol. These guys are just ridiculously good.
I'm 14 and I am in my High School band and I live kind of close to Concord, but I highly doubt I possess the skills to be apart of this band. I am a 2nd year Trumpet player trying to audition for my schools drum line next year.
@bunyancutincrew except this is a 4 person tenor line so there isnt a true center tenor but it was one of the ones in the middle so i just put center, if this line has a tenor captian i dont know because im personally not a blue devils guy.
If that were true DCI wouldn't bother to award the best drummers out there. What makes you think that drummers have no talent? Believe me, the job of a good drummer is to make it look easy. It isn't.
@doublebassheeltoe They feel good and there durable. My school has had a set of yamahas since 1999 and they are still in good sounding good and randal may is the company who made the harnesesfor pearl. Yamaha are great.
@zharston Its is a discredit to all BD lines that have come before them to nail all the easy stuff (ie-fast double stops, singles, 16th note triplet rolls) and then have rim fever on the only two or three cross over licks in the whole section. And yes, I know what it is like to play at at that level...and perfection is required....period...end of story. If you want to hit rims, stick to someone like bluecoats.
@TOMMY22 Noooooo!! BD's snare line may have gotten a lil dirty this year, nd the basses may not be cadets level, but their tenor line is the best in dci! Hands down!
There is no cadence at any point. It's all material written for the Blue Devils 2010 show. Commonly referred to as book (movements). For example, book 1 (movement 1), book 2 (movement 2), etc.
@nesnaj21 If you want the real drum corp experience i suggest trying out for Blue Devils B that is if you plan on auditioning on trumpet. If you want to march drumline BD C isnt a bad choice although they are young they are phenominal players
It's funny to see everyone point out that mistake, but you're talking about one of, if not the best, drumlines in all
I PLAY TENOR! IT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD!
Ashley Rogers yesss me too
I play pretty much everything. Whatever my bd needed.
That Bass Line is on fire
i'm 14 and play tenor drums in the calgary round up band, and ever since i heard about the blue devils, playing tenors for them is like my dream.
You 24 now howd you do
@@zoomlensshow fr
You ever make em?
The cross-sticking is what i envy...along with everything else.
are u in a tree??
LOL!!
Yes.
*on a tree
@@bryllenall3509 *in a tree
A drone
All of these are cranked high as heck even the bass
bro... i like blue devils. lovely
This makes me so insanely proud to play tenors... =)
Love the tenor visual @1:28 and the visual solo from the head tenor @1:21
I would like to see this quad line and Bluecoats 2012 in a battle of Bloo vs Blue
With Onye, it's impossible to beat.
smoshman6000 thats all opinionated.
+Musician4231 maybe it is opinionated, but you cant deny that the BD snareline is hard to top.
Matt Mansour Santa Clara
This line wins
1:20 middle right tenor almost got himself kicked out of the line
That's cool
1:20
Wheeewww.. Those tenors are tiggght ass.. Reinforcement rings, a good thing here for sure..
Blue devils is one of the best drum/bugle corps u can find
i love the description: "RCC show from up on top"
Don't givee up hope man. My freshman year I played tuba, but i practice everyday, tried out for my schools drumline, and made it. Just practice a lot and it pays off.
sickest angle to watch tenors from
I cant believe no-one called out the guy a 1:20 yet!!!
Cuz it's not important.
You didn't have to do the man like that 😂 Was an innocent mistake.
dang the end of their show brings me more pleasure than a woman could
TMI, dude
it makes me sad to see that you don't enjoy listening to drumline, in my personal opinion, the drummers are very talented, no matter what, and the music they play is very interesting, please, let us enjoy our video that we happily came to watch:)

Them singles... And such full strokes!!!
Dang. that was awesome stuff. Lovin the drums as well.
That's a common marching lick... There are many songs that involve the sticking and sound of Ditty.

SICKNESS WITHA QUICKNESS :))) BLUEDEVILS FOR EVERRRRRRR
My indoor tenor line just marched with system blues... mmmm those are sexy.
and those crossovers towards the end were sexy too ;D
I swear i keep hearing the same bass runs in every show
i'm going to one of their rehearsals on Tuesday to see what its like and talk to the instructors and some people there.
Omfggg! Tenor playing showing some form of human expression at :55! Cut!
STOP BEING SO GOOD!
What an insane book
@bluestars2013 Good thing you pointed that out.
@IslandQuads Then this has got to be the most impressive drum line I've ever seen out of all of these audition bands.
@nesnaj21 If youre interested in the drumline i would recommend trying out for the C corps, but if you want to be a part of the hornline i suggest trying out for the B corps (on trumpet) you would most likely get a spot on either corps.
DCI show at Riverside Comm College. You are watching the Blue Devils.
1:49 sounds like this past year for a couple seconds
bd always uses little segments from their past shows in the winds and battery
+Jd Dunklee @this year where the main song used was the same as 2008's main song

BEAST!
1:20 the second one in from the right ticks on the sticks up. :P But he makes that mistake cleanly and confidently lol. These guys are just ridiculously good.
I hope so i practice every day for an hour and half!! And almost everywhere else:)
I know this is a tenor video, but jesus those basses are sick!
It's WIlly from BD 06 behind the quads !
they would technically be floats. usually undefined on paper other than just float. they probably sort out height amongst the line.
AMAZING IN EVERY WAY
maybe except for that one false raise by that middle tenor at 1:20.
BUT STILL REALLY AMAZING
haha i love how around @1:13 you can hear ivan pacheco sayin "NO YOU DIDNT AHHHHHHH"
@xxPatheticEmoxx I'd marched bass in winter while playing tuba for two seasons but switched to tenors for my junior year on.
@zharston this should be posted in the description for evert DCI/WGI vid. well said.
Sheet music ?
They're playing at Riverside Community College campus.
oooooo jumped the gun with the sticks up @1:20 haha
those 2 shots at 1:39 ALWAYS trip me out
@fivepacdad Those are the new system blues heads, they were testing them over last season. Get it right....
i wish i could get around my tenors like this... hahaha
@600bri I like the Tenors buy I really enjoy the sound of the snare. :)
I'm 14 and I am in my High School band and I live kind of close to Concord, but I highly doubt I possess the skills to be apart of this band. I am a 2nd year Trumpet player trying to audition for my schools drum line next year.

Yes.
Yeah Dean!
@fivepacdad I will. I will practice a ton. And once I am confident, I will try.
Recycling is good for the earth
I bet when they've seen the sheet music they almost peed in their pants, but awesome tenor video
One thing I have noticed about the BD drumline is that they use the beginning of Ditty a lot.
@MAC94BMP Agreed. BD always seems to have an amazing tenor line. Bluecoats can get up there too, but I feel like BD always has them beat.
1:20 that awkward moment when you move early
I like how the bass drum act like a tenor
Me in 3 years!!!!!
Yeah this caption was crazy confusing because that was some of RCC's Tenor line at one point
If that were true DCI wouldn't bother to award the best drummers out there. What makes you think that drummers have no talent? Believe me, the job of a good drummer is to make it look easy. It isn't.
I'm not saying I could do this but the first tenor entrance had a little dirt :/
there's a lot more dirt than just that
I noticed that to lol
@600bri Thank you!! Good luck to you too! :)
@flammaster look up system blue tenor heads. it's the first one
thats what i was thinking, i just haven't made the final decision yet
You'll get it, practice practice!
@doublebassheeltoe They feel good and there durable. My school has had a set of yamahas since 1999 and they are still in good sounding good and randal may is the company who made the harnesesfor pearl. Yamaha are great.
@zharston 3: Yes we will. We're in lines that execute this difficulty level and don't tick ;)
they have the optical illusion syndrome
just like the 06 tenors did
1:40, sick.
@zharston Its is a discredit to all BD lines that have come before them to nail all the easy stuff (ie-fast double stops, singles, 16th note triplet rolls) and then have rim fever on the only two or three cross over licks in the whole section. I play tenors... But this makes me look like I should just be playing triangle :O
1:20 Tenor came in too early but recovered :o
like the sound...clean...but 96 is stil my fav tenor line :0
That's one of the baddest lines of all time! I have seen a ton of outstanding lines, but plsyer to player BD '96 is the best out of them all.
@masterdrummer19 Actually Ivan Pacheco was the dude that said "HE DIDDDDD" xD
its okay center tenor, no one saw you come up early.
Are there any dci lines with female on the tenor line?
If there are it's really really uncommon most girls are on snare or bass
@flammaster actually the temors have a new system blue tenor head
Title - Blue Devils 2010
Description - RCC show from up top?
What?
always my favorite tenor line. even without tim jackson
DAMN!!! these cats would make MS colleges hide.....
@TOMMY22 Noooooo!! BD's snare line may have gotten a lil dirty this year, nd the basses may not be cadets level, but their tenor line is the best in dci! Hands down!
@climber3580 Good thing they had plenty of time to clean at this point. You do know this is from June, right?
The beginning kinda sounds like this years show.... And some other bits of it
@xxPatheticEmoxx I actually switched from tuba to tenors. Great decision.
does anyone know the name of the beginning cadence
There is no cadence at any point. It's all material written for the Blue Devils 2010 show. Commonly referred to as book (movements). For example, book 1 (movement 1), book 2 (movement 2), etc.
@nesnaj21 If you want the real drum corp experience i suggest trying out for Blue Devils B that is if you plan on auditioning on trumpet. If you want to march drumline BD C isnt a bad choice although they are young they are phenominal players
@nesnaj21 people who cant play that good would dislike it.
lucky me i play euph and tenors haha love every minute of both how do I decide?
@studmuffinxDCIx You might just be my new favorite person to mess with. =]
@fivepacdad Well they are excellent...
@DRUMMERxSPONGEY That was Ivan Pacheco :o lol
1:40 is how babies are made.
