Everyone in the Pool. Improving Swim Safety in Southeast Michigan.

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks is working with partners throughout southeast Michigan aimed at removing barriers to water safety and swim education so that all children can safely and confidently enjoy the pools, lakes and rivers that Michigan has to offer. The partnerships focus on teaching children how to swim through free lessons, as well as providing equipment. The partners’ goals are to remove the barrier of cost that recent survey findings cite as one of the largest inhibitors to participation. In summer 2022 the Metroparks partnered to offer free swim lessons in eight locations as highlighted here in this video.
