    I know your friend was trying to help, but he went about it in a convoluted way. Regardless, once the water drained out, he should have absorbed as much interior water with towels, then used a wet/dry vac with a carpet water removal attachment to suck out excess moisture under the carpet/padding. [Not use compressed air blowing it all over the place including the seats]
    Then you put the A/C on max with the interior air on directed at the feet, for at least one hour. Then you open the top in the heat of the day, and let the carpet bake in the hot sun. All of that will remove residual moisture so you don't develop mold or have rust or electrical issues with any remaining moisture. You should also cut off those four rubber like flaps with a box cutter or scissors, so you don't have the problem re-occur.

      I kept the roof open for a few days. And you’re right. The problem is still there. It was to get the water out.
      But once it rains, it filled back up again. Took a year or so--but the problem returned. It’s at the dealership right now as I type--getting it taken care of.

      If you have extended warranty--that should have been covered. My regulator and labor was covered. Now, the catch for me is--the dealership is doing some flaky 💩and told me that the warranty isn’t covering the water/unclogging. I have to pay the dealership $600 before they can do the work on the regulator/window. I talk to warranty--they said they NEVER got a request from the dealership. The dealership had to tell them that’s an issue so they can approve it. It’s a longgggg story behind this for me. If u stroll up--I just told another person what’s going on right now!! But yes, if u have warranty--that should have been covered for free.

      You’re so welcomed. Funny enough, my warrant is about to expire. So on 3/18/24-- it had been at the dealership getting warranty approved work done. The water issue happened again and it affected the regulator in my back right window. That window won’t go up/down. So I wanted this to all be addressed before warranty expired. Warranty paid for a diagnostic test to happen. A oil leak in engine was detected. They also found something with my convertible top. Then the dealership broke a part in my engine and had to order a part (free to me).
      But never addressed the chief complaint I came in- which was the water/window. I had to escalate it as of “THIS WEEK”-because they had my car for two months. Plus, they’re saying they can’t do the work on my window regulator until “I” pay to remove the water first ($600). Now the work for the regulator and labor is approved-- but the water isn’t allowing them to do it. Then the dealership lied and said that the warranty said they are denying the water /unclogging because that’s a force of nature-- not mechanical. Warranty company said THEY DID NOT SAY THAT. They need the dealership to put in the request for work- so they can approve it! Don’t know why the dealership is procrastinating. I think the dealership messed my cars engine up and isn’t trying to say it. I have one of their loaners in the meantime. They are about to be in court and giving me a new car. The warranty company is all over it as of yesterday. I’ve asked for them to escalate the complaint up the chain. And I’m forced to use this particular dealership because it’s a Ourisman Buick dealership. Pissed is an understatement. If you can avoid the dealership and have a trusted mechanic get it unclogged--you’re good. Also, have the mechanic remove the plugs once it’s unclogged. I was told by many that they serve no purpose. The dealership will try to hit your head. If you have warranty--you have to go through the process to get it covered. That’s the ONLY REASON WHY I’ve been patient with the process. Also on FB, I’m apart of a Buick Cascada group. Here is the link. Very helpful! Good luck!! If you join--See you there!!

    I think I would have jacked up the front of the car to allow the water to flow to the rear and then released the rear drain plug. The compressed air seems to have forced the water into the interior of the car. That would have been cleaned up better with a wet/dry shop vac. I would have also had a catch bucket rather than having to mop up the shop floor.

    • @AmyCakes1378
      @AmyCakes1378  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Facts! Now keep in mind (back then)-neither of us knew how this would end. Now, we know. lol
      As of recent, I got my car back from the dealership. They had to get involved because there was still blockage. That blockage was directly interfering with warranty approved work. The dealership took the remaining plugs out (I took some out myself). Then the dealership cleared the drains all out. The water drain clearing work at dealership would have cost $700….lol. However, because the water was blocking electrical work for the replacement to my back right window regulator--they drained it as a courtesy. My warranty company was NOT covering the water -AT ALL! Pissed! They said “It’s a natural act of nature. Not a mechanical breakdown.” Even thought the regulator was mechanical--they covered the part and labor. But the dealership could NOT install the new regulator with water surrounding it. It would ruin it again. So eventhough the dealership treated me like garbage….they drained the water and cleared the canals for me.
      As far as the dealership issues--long story. lol

      @@AmyCakes1378 Sorry to hear. I just bought a low mileage 2017 Cascada for my wife. It had 15,000 miles on it when we purchased it last March. I guess my question is how is the water getting in? I think keeping the boot and well area, where the top drops into when it is down, is a big part of keeping the drains from getting plugged with debris. BTW, thanks for the quick response.

    • @AmyCakes1378
      @AmyCakes1378  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @todzilla09 Yep that exactly where! Just let her know to try not to park under trees--where debris can fall onto car. Or if she “does” park under trees--make sure it’s covered or she take the debris off.

      You’ll see me post my content too! It’s some great advise here too. Some things we go thru--we’ll talk about how we found answers or post videos of the issue. It helps the mechanics too. It’s not many of our cars that’s even made. I think it’s a total of 48,000 world wide (or something like that)! So we watching out for one another there. Some things are easy fixes--and some issues are weird!
      Outside of that--I love my car! It’s beautiful. I get many compliments….even still!

    The same thing was happening to my 2016 Cascada. .
    so I did the same thing as the mechanic here did. .... After finding the drain cap and removing it on the right side , not much if any water came out I used a Long screwdriver, and nothing .
    . I blew compressed air into the hole and nothing .
    Then I went to the left side or drivers side , removed the cap then used the long screwdriver and nothing . Then the Compressed Air and HOLY CRAP ! ......Niagara Falls came out !

      Whenever it rains--the water travels in a canal and it stores in the side/wheel area. It’s plugs there. It you can remove the plugs then the water would just run out. If leaves or debris get stuck--it will also clog the canal. Try not to park underr trees. I gotta but a car cover once I get my car back from the dealership. It’s been there for 2 months. If you stroll up--you’ll see why! A lot has happened!

      All you need to do is remove the flaps over the drain holes and it will solve debris getting clogged. The flaps were in theory to prevent bugs or small pests from getting in. So removed those flaps with an box cutter or scissors, clean the drain line, and you won't have a reoccurrence.

      @@MultiEviscerator they’re removed. That’s not the problem. There is blockage and it’s stuff stuck. The dealership has to unclog it. The water seeped into the door regulator.
