For those who are worried about getting the game because you aren't accustomed to rhythm games, there is a mode toggle for acting off the beat, but the game truly is most rewarding when you do. Also, you don't have to constantly act during the game. You can wait for enemies to move and act on the next conformatable beat you feel like.

The game is truly amazing the people who made this without a doubt a fan of zelda franchise. i really hope it finds success so that it'll open more doors for more indie devs to work with nintendo IPs
Crypt of the NecroDancer is one of my all time favorite games, and I'm still incredibly happy that Nintendo partnered to make this. I get so much joy from so many of my favorite things together!

Sure there are enemies that are basically ones from cotn, and weapons that are the same but there are also unique enemies and weapons, and stuff such as an overworld and the bosses are unique. A Zelda+CotN crossover would be the better way to describe it I feel.
I bought the game and beat it already. It's kind of a short game for a Legend Of Zelda title, but since the RNG and different playstyles of each savegame and character, this is fun over and over again. I'd love to see a update adding a faster music (Metal would fit so good)

Also, aside from the music DLC, there are 2 new story campaigns you can play through, and, if you want to play like classic KOTN, a new dungeon mode. No overworld, just dungeon, on top of dungeon, on top of dungeon, on top of dungeon, repeat forever.
Just finished my first play through earlier, and I really enjoyed it. Mostly played as Zelda, because we don't have enough games that allow us to do that, and I do think use of her signature weapon, the rapier, did make it a bit different. I was worried because I would not consider myself someone with good beat or something, but the mechanic was fun and I could work it well. Although, even at the end I don't think I fully appreciated or mastered all mechanics, myself relying Legend of Zelda completion to help, and would like to master it more in the future.
@@theplatformerreviewer6905 the difference lies mostly that Link can do swinging attacks like the spin, or the greatsword that can hit well at angles if done right. Zelda's rapier has her chase enemies, which could put you closer them, or away if something is coming up behind you, although honestly did not do her defence spell except when in trouble, the final dungeon felt like the only time Din's Fire was needed.
I just beat Permadeath mode! :D It's almost impossibly hard at the start, but once you get some better weapons and more hearts, along with some death-preventing potions, it becomes an absolute cakewalk!
just from this video alone, its cool to see all the different inspirations they took from all of the zelda games! I noticed the same falling animation from Minish cap, the hover boots from oot, the graveyard from zelda 1, and the overall layout from a link to the past. Its all very cool!
I just want to point out a random stuff, one of the involved companies in the game is spike chunsoft, you may not know it, but it's the same company that made the DBZ Budokai, Tenkaichi and Raging Blast Games. I told you it was a random stuff to point out.
Bought at release, and have not been disappointed. It's definitely not a game for everyone. But if you're like me and enjoy rhythm games and Zelda games, then definitely give it a go.
people who play or write music could easily get into this and do well. musicians have to play at a tempo in the first place, and having that, can easily sniff out the tempo of other music and do things to that beat. Many musicians tap their feet to keep the tempo. i would definitely buy this, but i don't have a switch. :(

I died a bunch in the first hour or so, but then suddenly it just clicked. This game is great and the music is BUMPIN.
Exactly my experience. At a certain point you just get it, and then you stop dying and feel like a God.

Do not be fooled, this is a ZELDA game in structure with rhythm and randomization, NOT merely a roguelike with Zelda themes. It is excellent.

I really enjoy this game! The roguelike elements to it actually make it feel a lot more like BotW than it has any right to.

I think they made Zelda better than link on purpose

Good thing about a rougelike game is that you can play it over with new settings. Double time got me on edge and multiplayer has its own challenge
