    Yesss, thank you for these two videos, they definitely helped me out! I think a lot of the magic stone items and item transformations aren't very obvious unless you get the drop yourself and look it up on ephinea wiki, so it was interesting just listening to you iterate over these potential upgrades. LIke GoatChaser said, an overview like this for every class (and different genders, female characters get really strong weapons for example!) could be fun, but honestly at this point (and if you felt like doing it obviously) I would like to see either you leveling up and gearing up your new purplenum ranger (you can come up with interesting points on the fly while playing, maybe on a longer video format? or maybe only record when you want to explain something while you play outside of the video context, or perhaps consider streaming your journey?).
    Either way, I am totally satisfied with these two videos, I am a big phantasy star fan like yourself, I only started on the PSU era but have played PSO, PSO2 classic JP, NGS jp and global, all the PS classic jrpgs and even PSzero, but I felt like this overview you just did was long overdue on this platform so definitely this is a good overview that I will come back and even reference if someone else needs guidance! I would also like to add that I loved your MAG video since I've been looking for something similar on youtube and couldn't find it until you put that out so kudos again!
    Keep up the good work! Even if you focus on another ps game I will definitely watch for sure!

      Thanks so much for the kind words!
      I have been considering trying out streaming but wasn't sure if anyone would watch 😂 I can definitely consider doing it though if it's something people would be interested in.
      For a small channel like this, getting messages like this is really appreciated!
      For future uploads there'll be a mix of different Phantasy Star games (mainly PSO and NGS but will cover other games).

      @@SectionSkyly streaming is definitely hard to pull off but from what I’ve gathered it’s just a matter of having the time to and persistence, and trying to get as many views as possible in this franchise is definitely one of the hardest goals but if it’s something you see yourself doing you can always try out doing some trial streams, maybe start with NGS since it’s the most recent game (but even the top streamers on ngs rarely hit triple digits from what I’ve seen) I guess in the end it just boils down if you see yourself committing to it long term or not haha

      DoB with Hit is amazing honestly! For such a common weapon it's definitely worth getting one with Hit%. 60% is really nice!

    I have a little qustion. On Ephenia doesnt work the old trick of re spawn mobs? i mean, spawn mobs like a group of rappys, pipe back to pioneer and back to re spwan them to hunt the rare ones?

      I'm not exactly sure, but it may?

      As far as I know, the telepipe trick only works on offline console PSO (because the game reloads enemies every time you telepipe). On Blue Burst the game doesn't respawn mobs when you telepipe, so unfortunately I don't think the trick works anymore.
      I used to use it to find rare enemies on Gamecube but on Blue Burst I have to hunt normally.

      Oh that make sense, i hadnt layed since my time in the GC, back in action a week ago, found your vids and start on Ephenia.

    I have never made it past Very Hard so I have never gone rare weapon hunting. That also means I have no idea what I'm looking at when it comes to the drops. I don't know what's good and what needs to be avoided. Maybe you can make a "Top 5" or something for each class? Also, how do you get rare enemies to spawn? I run TTF repeatedly and I never get any rare enemies. I think I've only seen 1 rare lily in my entire PSOBB play history.

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For rare enemies, each time the basic version would spawn there's a 1/512 chance (may be 1/256 on some servers) for it to be a rare version. Unfortunately all you can do is just spam quests with high enemy counts for the basic version and hope for the best.
      I'll see what I can do for recommended hunts, but there are some items worth going after in particular. For RA entering Ultimate I cannot stress how useful Frozen Shooter is! Later on Spread Needle is also considered staple RA gear too. For FO, prioritise weapons that boost your Technique damage (Laconium, Adaman, Zumiuran, Summit Moon etc). For HU you have more flexibility but accuracy and attack speed will be a big issue in Ultimate, so getting /Battle and /Arm units can help a lot.

    Just got my Ramarl to level 41 and even on hard I feel like I do no damage. I've been following a power mag guide and have it up to level 40. Using a crush shot +1 and Varista. Any tips on what I should hunt to have an easy time with ranger? I'm a green section ID.

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At lower levels, RAmarl is pretty weak but in the late game she's one of the stronger classes. At your level there's a couple of things I'd recommend: 1) Keep working on your Mag. At level 40 it'll only be giving you 70ATP at most (if you had 35 POW). Every level of power you add gives 2 ATP, which will add up in the long term.
      2) As a Greenill, you'll have access to a lot of Rifle drops (great Ranger ID!). In the early game for RA, I tend to find that rifles are quite useful as they have a bit more ATP. Even if you can grab a Visk-235W or a Wals-MK2 (both available in Hard) or a Justy-23ST (VH onwards) that might help a little. If you prefer Handguns, you could look for a Suppressed Gun (Hard Spaceship Garanz drop for Greenill) which is a little stronger than your Varista. You can also get a Photon Launcher from Hard Vol Opt which isn't bad for the early game. Also, don't be afraid to use regular (non-rare) weapons. Sometimes having a regular weapon with a good special attack is more useful. Sacrificial specials like Berserk/Spirit/Charge or HP cutting specials like Devils/Demons are really useful on some weapons. Mechguns are extremely strong later in the game, but at your level you probably don't have the ATP needed to make them worthwhile.
      3) Are you using your support techniques? The combination of Shifta to raise your ATP and Zalure to lower enemy DFP will help too. Similarly if you have a weapon you use often, using grinders on it will also improve its ATP a little (or a lot in some cases, for weapons with a high maximum grind level).
      One drop I did notice for Greenill is the VH Mines Dubchic drop, which drop God/Arm at 1/213. If you can get strong enough to do VH Mines, spam the first room of Endless Nightmare #3 and reset after. Make sure you tag all of the Dubchics before you destroy the switch so they have a chance to drop it. This unit will significantly boost your ATA, enabling you to use more RA weapons and hit more reliably.
      There's not too much gear in Hard but once you play VH you should be able to incrementally improve your gear. The main thing I'd suggest at this point though is to keep focusing on your Mag build. Another option if you're struggling is to hit up some multiplayer so you can split the aggro.

      @@SectionSkyly thank you for the detailed reply!! I'll definitely stay focused on building up my mag. I just started feeding another as a pure mind mag since I've found a few decent force items like amplifier of gafoie and I want to play a force later on. I traded someone on discord the 2 pd I found for two heavenly/battles as well to help. I've been using Shifta, Deband, and Resta for my techniques.

    Ultimate is so hard, when my RAmar got there the enemies creamed him into a little puddle of gore, while I did no damage at all and was very slow.

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ultimate can be pretty rough when you first get there. Sometimes it can make sense to go back to VH to get a couple more levels or look if there's any weak areas in your gear.
      Otherwise as a RA, just camp the entrances (run out of room when enemies get close) and try to get a Frozen Shooter as soon as you can. Spread Needle is super useful as well, but tends to only drop later in Ultimate.

      Yeah ultimate is a huge increase in danger. Once you get some stat materials and. Nice mag it's less rough. Hit weapons help too.

      Definitely if you're playing RA. Charge weapons are a great source of damage in late game when you have an excess of Meseta anyway!
