A Dreadful Moment

- By: Alistair Begg || Preached January 17, 2021 - (2 Samuel 6:1-11) David’s triumphant procession to return the ark of God to Jerusalem halted suddenly when Uzzah was struck down for touching the holy object. While the Lord’s judgment may seem harsh, Alistair Begg reminds us that the ark represented the presence and glory of our holy God. His warnings are made clear in Scripture, not to frighten us away but to draw us to Him in reverential awe. Do we treat His presence with the godly fear it deserves?

I absolutely love when you preach through 1&2 Samuel!! I literally cannot get enough! I could listen to Begg exegete for the rest of my life, and probably will.. Not neglecting my local body, of course... But man! I love Begg. God has blessed me so much through him.

Such a good teacher: our problem is we dont like sometimes what God does. Other times we applaud Gods action. We must accept the God is God, not our creation.

@Joyce Meyer ministries I don't know who you are but do believe in spiritual warfare and know the saints and Jesus are interceding on my behalf as I battle breast cancer. God is able to do more than I ask or think, and that is what I'm relying on. Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. Period.

May I truly know and understand what it means to be in God's dreadful presence whenever we have a chance to gather together in person to worship Him in this Covid-19 era, and learn to love His presence at all times in my daily, private worships!!
Thank you very much Pastor, for elucidating on the part of the deaths concerning the covenant. A very helpful account for as i was reading the Book of Numbers today and i was hoping i could understand as to why anyone would just die for that particular reason.

My heavenly father will bless you as you sow a seed to these orphanages children today, you will testify to the glory of God after you have done it if only you believe in him, Proverb (3: 27,21: 26: 22: 9 ), Deu 28: 1 '5

I Pete Verhelst, the lady’s husband has an issue with how you proceed . Please remember how long the Ark has been in the house of Abinadab. Also consider how it came back from the land of the philistines, on a cart. For Israelites not versed in the law the oversight of transporting the Ark incorrectly I would expect. Given the history of the people of Israel I think that too is a reasonable conclusion. I do appreciate your comment,very much, that David did not consult the Lord. The Lord reminds his people how holy he is!
I admit it's only speculation on my part but I like to think the two cherubim represented on the ark were pictures of the two angels that were present in Jesus tomb after he was risen. I imagine them, one standing at the head and over standing at the feet of Jesus while he "slept" until he raised himself back up. It's over of those things once I have seen it I cannot unsee it. Now when I see illustrations of the ark I imagine the body b of Christ laying on the ark between the angel's. And then my mind goes to the tomb with the same mental picture.
