David Gale we absolutely amazing! I am so glad to see that someone remembers him and his great work. I was obsessed with the Secret Storm and especially the Father Mark Reddin/Laurie Stevens storyline. I still mourn the loss of that wonderful soap opera to this day, and February 8, 2024, will mark 50 years since it left us.

The new opening was actually introduced on CBS in late 1981. It was probably around the time when Guiding Light and As the World Turns decided to change their openings.
