Northeast became a part of India only after the Independence from the British. Before the 1947 this was a separate small kingdoms. Assam was under Ahom Kingdom and the king of Ahom was a Thai in origin.

Meghalaya is one of my favourite destinations in the Northeast, it's very clean, Khasi people are very hospitable.. Laitlum, Nonkhailika, Mawlynnong, Dawki are all amazing places to be.

@@dekabrother I also wish to have a girls trip there with my sisters and friends too but it's just that I can't seem to unwind myself if I am with someone. It's just my oldest one mentally to plan everything such that the rest can enjoy but it often means not enough time for my nerdy/geeky self to to check the places out in detail.

This oddly reminded me of my village in Uttarakhand, I will be visiting my birthplace soon i.e my village, this literally felt like deja vu, reminded me of village trip at times, definitely north east is beautiful
So many people from Uttarkhand are here haha❤ Yeah we see those beautiful valleys here as well, but I wanna visit North-East too!! That village looks so peaceful!!❤

@@sunny.jasmin yes. but, if you want to see bamboo palaces or temples, visit kolkata during durgapuja festival times. 🤣 but it will be quite crowded during that time.
Although I was born and raised in the US, as a kid when my parents took me back to our family's ancestral village in the Indian Himalayas (the village consisted of 7 houses in the middle of nowhere), I also went on similar hikes and adventures in the midst of stunning scenery. Now that I live in the Seattle area, I take advantage of the beautiful hikes in Washington State which are also amazing. .

I love your positive energy. i spent 3 months hiking thorough meghalaya and staying in the heart of its remote villages back when i was 16 and you embody the same spirit of pure joyful curiousity, of confronting your fears, of discovering wonder at every turn with which I explored the entire north east, and all of India and the US. Thank you for this :) What did you think of the place and the people? The more I travel, the more Ludwig Wittingtein's statement "I was expecting a surprise, but I didnt get one, which surprised me." makes sense to me, because although we are all unique and diverse, it is so easy to connect with people of different backgrounds from all over the world.and see the beauty in the common threads that link us all.

Latilum Grand Canyon sure is amazing. Last time I was there it was shrouded in Clouds. They kept coming and going. It felt like I was in the cloudsAnd when they leftThere was this amazing landscape.
