I use the optimum air gun with Opti bond. 90psi. Works fantastic for off road tires and coating wheel wells / suspension parts
thanks for this. May have to try this. Does the overspray have to be wiped up afterwards on the bodywork, etc?
When I use a solvent based dressing it smokes like that but water based never smokes for me once you find the right settings 👍
Hell yeah! That's next level tire shine application! I'm stealing this idea for my cars and my 18 wheeler, with the truck I can just use the air line glad hand from the brakes, just like I do to blow out inside with an air gun, this is genius!
Thank you for watching brotha actually I would recommend the larger one for that.
Great for water based dressing
Just bouht it but after a little spray there was only air coming out. I tried different mixes. Clocked straight away? I have a 200 PSI Rigid. Is it the pressure? Thanks guys
Thank you for the video. Do you clean it after every use like suggested?
Looks like an HVLP, you need a regulator at the coupler coming into the gun. Then just back it down to where its not spraying overspray everywhere.
Yes I’ve been looking for one. Since I’m always switching back and forth from the tornador at 100+psi to the spray gun around 50 psi.
Try having your regulator @ 45-50psi and your air pressure around 175psi and that will help with over spray, I just learned that and it works awesomely interiors also... Great video thank you

Yep this is exactly what I was going to say. That thing is turned up way too high, first pull of the trigger I'm like that's a problem. Get a regulator on that thing and you'll use a lot less product and it will be a much better spray.
I use one and added a regulator to cut down on the amount of pressure. It REALLY helps with eliminating overspray.
That’s what I was gonna say. Cut the pressure down and tighter up the fan pattern and you’ll have less overspray.

Why not turn the psi to 37 and 2inch angle spray to stop over spray??
Been driving 45 yrs. Detailing cars is great for a car show but its like fighting a title waves if you expect to keep your car that way unless its kept in the garage with a cover on it. One of the hard lessons i learned.
True some people say why do you detail your car if it’s just gonna get dirty again. It’s the same as somebody saying why do you wipe your butt if you’re just gonna poop again? Well it’s about maintenance. Every day we’re battling to keep our cars looking as close to new as we possibly can.
I go through cases of detail spray. Everyday I’m usually doing some sort of detail.
That’s the type of mentality that I hear from others who don’t want to experience a fresh clean feeling to their cars.
Can you use liquid wax to spray the whole car?
I’m not some safety lunatic by any means, but anytime you are atomizing chemicals, dust, etc, having a mask is a good idea. This sort of stuff will really mess up your lungs.
Its different than just using a spray bottle. Especially when you are using stuff that is solvent/oil based. Similar to painting without using any PPE.
Not trying to be one of those safety weirdos, more like caring for fellow humans! Great content and keep up the great work!
Thank you for the video & for those o comment. I got a good idea how I’m gonna used my. Thanks everyone
How hard is it to clean out after your finished with the tire shine and what product do you use to clean it? I have the same exact one but never used it yet. Thanks
It’s not hard at all In My experience. Just take the parts apart and clean them with hot water. Then blow out with air.
What dilution please ?
Yup! 20-50psi. Keep your pump at max. Get the small regulator. Just do it. And run it as low pressure as you can buy tuning. This will keep the fluid on the subject. Fanning out to much will create more overspray... more misty on edges.
Also, could drill hole out for more volume but have not resurched this and wouldn't need for car detailing. Even the larger $15- 30 buck units would do great. I do have two larger purple guns. One I did drill to 2mm. For thinned down house paint. If you have doors to paint. This is a blasted time saver, and what a pro job!! Yup, love these guns on the cheep...... For small jobs like tires pancake pump would do, perhaps a house door too, but that's pushing it. For longer streches with rest between, I wouldn't (want) to use anything under 20gal pump. At least for the bigger purple gun. Great idea on the tires, by the way❤.
Make a video of what tire shine you use and the measurements is best. Thanks
Whats up bro! Question was size did you use for your air inlet fitting? Thank you
Was that a go pro you were using when recording the spray going on the tire shine at 2:05 or what was it ?
good tool to have and gopd video
Is it possible you're spraying at too high a pressure?
What about using this for something like bead maker?
I think applying a sealant through a sprayer like that is a waste and unnecessary. All you need to do is use a regular bottle with a sprayer.
What is the attachment you use to make it a quick connect ? I recently bought one but haven’t found the piece to make it a quick connect to my compressor hose
Does the cfm and psi of the spray gun really. Matter or I can used a 20 oz as a 4oz
Any concerns about breathing the stuff in? Ive seen guys on TH-cam using the device to spray ceramic coatings in grills or intricate wheels... just a concern...
what air compressor are you using with it?

The reason you have so much over spray and fogging is because you are using way too high of pressure.
It’s called an HVLP spray gun. (High volume, low pressure)
Get that air pressure cut way down then tune your flow and fan. You’ll find far less overspray.
Hi, May work better using less pressure on gun. Good luck with your business!
Yeah I was just talking about that with another subscriber. When I first got the gun I used it at the suggested psi but I wasn’t getting the result I wanted. So I raised up the PSI on my air compressor and now I get the results I want however the downside is the overspray. To be honest though I have never noticed it on the paint of the vehicle or at least it’s never been bad enough to notice. Probably because I always do a final wipe down with a detail spray before the job is done
👍👌
Pull up to a body shop and do this they will have a heart attack lol
I have yet to see a video in which this is used and it isn't over spray city
@@StaySlick I’m sure there is….I’ve even thought of buying it for my business but after many videos, I just can’t get myself to buy it….wayyyyyy too much over spray
If you run it around 50 psi you won’t get any overspray. It just takes longer to dress the tire.
@@StaySlick hmm with how cheap some of these are, I might just give it a try then
Looks like you have it on a high psi that gun is only meant to use 50 psi .
I do have it on high PSI at the moment but when I first got it I used it at the recommended PSI and didn’t like the spray pattern I was getting that is why I raised up the PSI and now I’m satisfied with the coverage
@@StaySlick yes I struggled too when I first got it but after hours of trying to adjust knobs I finally got it lol .. but I still keep mines at a low psi it really does well with little to no overspray .
I'll pass. If it's something I could spray with this thing, I could just use a $1 spray bottle and do the same thing and not have to worry about having an air compressor as well :/ The products I use either can't be sprayed like this (meguiars endurance) or I don't think can/don't want to spray like this (chemical guys vrp full strength- although it'd probably work especially if watered down but I have no problem using a brush to apply), or are already in a can and spray like this without needing something else to do it (cristal untouchable).
True but it won’t be the same result. I say that because I also use that method. I notice a lot over spray when I use a spray bottle probably because the droplets are larger than with this gun. The gun atomizes the tire shine to such a fine mist that the over spray doesn’t really show up. It’s personal preference but I thought I’d throw that out there.
Overspray galore
So work double and whipe down the car again because of the over spray 🙄
I Just Detailed my NEW TRUCK, And I'am Gonna Spray this Crap ALL OVER Everything, Including my Freshly Detailed TRUCK / PAINT / Window's / Rim's Etc etc etc???? NA, I don't think so. Great Idea, For some folks. Not happening over here!!!
Brooooooooooo you got wayyyy too much air flowing thru that gun!!!crank it down it would work wayyy better for you
Dude put a freakin regulator on your gun you won’t be flooding the freakin tire rim and side of the truck while you spray lmao
@@StaySlick no harm meant by my comment bro. But yeah I just got the 10$ regulator from harbor freight and run it around 40ish psi.
Your channel is going to blow up! :) Get ready. Stay slick!
