Continuing with our food explorations in Bistupur, in today's episode we are exploring a few more eateries in the locality that have made a name for themselves.
The first stop for this part of Bistupur Food Tour was Anand Hotel. Although it is a multicuisine restaurant, it is renowned for its South Indian food. Everything from dosas, idlis, upma etc are hugely popular. People drop in regularly with their friends and families to relish these things prepared by cooks from Jharkhand. We tried their aloo bonda, vada and butter dosa which were accompanied by yummy sambar and chutney. They were indeed very soul satisfying.
The following stop was Tandoori Hut, a four year old eatery serving some amazing veg and nonveg rolls, kebabs and tandoori items. At Chirag's recommendations we tried the Chicken Roll which is so well stuffed with chicken that in every bite you will get a piece. And we must agree that the claim turned out to be true.
The next stop was Softy Corner that is nestled at a petrol pump. This quaint and cheerful place pervaded with enticing smell of chocolate and other sweet treats is a hit with the kids and young crowd. We too felt like a kid in the candy shop. Our pick was the chocolate softy. The sweet crunch coating over a brilliant soft serve ice cream was so much fun to munch on. The interplay of textures was a great source of joy.
After this we reached Milanee's kitchen, a community run Bengali kitchen and sweet corner. But since the meal service was closed, we settled for a pretty small pot of misti doi. It is a quintessential sweet yogurt from Bengal. This one was quite good.
We finished the tour with a sweet paan from Sambhu Paan Corner. Then we headed back to Sakchi to check out one restaurant that was left out in the previous exploration. It is the Mughlai speciality restaurant Delhi Darbar. Here we tried quite a few dishes like their signature Darbari Kebab, Chaap, Awadhi Roti and a range of desserts like firni, kheer, shahi tukda and bread chocolate pudding. The food was phenomenal.
With this our Bistupur Food Tour came to an end.

Anubhav ji you made me remember my childhood days. I left Jamshedpur in 2007 after my class 12 and never got chance to come back and stay for a long period . Delhi Darbar , Softy corner Anand, Madrasi hotel etc were regular place to hangout with friends after coaching or after shopping .....Thanks for covering the city as detailed as possible.

Anand was my favourite haunt during plus 2. The best dosas I have tasted, better than in Bangalore and Chennai.

Anand is true to its name , pocket friendly , simple yet great ambience , neat and clean , hygienic food with immaculate service . Place can't be missed .

Just felt nostalgic after seeing the hotel “Anand”. In childhood we used to visit jsr and the smell of sambhar was so temptiing that you can know it even you are on the road. And the tasty softyplace - it used to be small counter with one or two machine. Now they have turned to big shop. Thank you anubhav for visiting such amazing places.

Your telco colony trip be like… morning with Kharangajhar Idli from Auntie , sweets and singhda from Shukla and day ends with Hari ka golgappa and Nilesh ka egg roll(if nilesh still exists)

For a moment I thought Jamshedpur/ Bistupur is a true model for diversity and harmony, sadly as I scrolled down the comments true colors came out. My dad used to say in the neighborhood he grew up where Muslims wouldn't use beef in respect to Hindus and Hindus wouldn't do the pork in respect to Muslims.
I know there's a lot of water has flown down the bridge since then....yet I wish those days would return.

Amazing....taste bole to Jamshedpur ka khana....Nostalgic "Anand".
Have very fond memories of Anand hotel. Every Wednesday used to visit with parents to have my all time favourite masala dosa. Milanee was just next to my house though that time the restaurant didn't exist. But, yes very delicious 'bibhuti's chop' used to be there. A small shack serving delicious chops!
The best part is you get original taste of food , and the food has not yet been ruined by cheese mayonnaise and butter so far
