- Parga Attractions. Greek Fruit and Vegetable Local Market (Λαϊκή αγορά) in Parga, Greece (Parga is called Πάργα in Greek). It is Friday morning in Parga (Πάργα), Greece and we have just stumbled upon the Parga Local Market Place which is held every Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Join us as we take you on a short tour through this Local Market selling mainly fresh fruit and vegetables. This Parga Town Market is not very big but we enjoyed seeing the delicious and fresh produce that was available for sale at all the stalls and the shop keepers and all their customers were very warm and welcoming towards us.
The Parga Market is located just in front of the Parga Town Church and in front of the Parga Taxi pickup area. The coordinates for the Parga Market on Google Earth or Google Maps are: Latitude: 39°17'6.85"N Longitude: 20°24'3.50"E
We were happy that we stumbled upon this traditional Greek Market in Parga and can highly recommend a visit to the market when you are in Parga, Greece. The produce looks so lovely and fresh. Shopping in a local market is one of our favourite things to do. Everyone seems to be very friendly in Greece.
Everybody was very friendly and welcoming throughout Parga! Markets are also on the top of our list of things to do when we are abroad. We can also spend hours wondering through supermarkets, just to see what type of foods are available for sale compared to what we get at home. Great Video!! I used to love going to the open markets when I lived in Greece. Always found fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices were very good as well . I miss that, the simplicity of Greece sometimes, everything is just more natural and simple there, unlike here in the US where I live.

Hi lovely people ! What a warm and friendly little market place. I loved the shot of the guys sitting having a drink and wishing you well . I have missed seeing you guys for a while so will be doing a binge watch tonight to catch up . This travel video made me so want to be there, though I doubt I would ever make it but you never know ! . I have always loved the Greek people , just beautiful they are, we have a substantial Greek migrant population in Australia and when I was growing up , every fish and chip shop was Greek owned...and they were the best !I hope this finds my two fave travellers safe and well , all the best from Dave
Hello again Dave, so nice hearing from you again! This market place was a pleasure to visit and we were lucky to stumble upon it while exploring the town! Everybody at the market was very warm and welcoming! We can highly recommend a visit to Greece, the people, the place and the food are are amazing! South Africa where I grew up also had many Greek Nationals, I (Maxi) remember that one of the bakeries close to where we lived was owned and run by a Greek Baker, the cream cakes and breads were amazing to this day I still dream of those cream cakes they baked Mmmmm :-D All is well on our end and we trust that the same goes for you in Australia. Lovely market and we love these also . My dad was born next to borough market in London and back then it was a market for locals . Now it’s very touristy which is good and brings in a lot of money . Nice surprise to see a midweek video 👍
It was a small market but a nice experience and we had some good chats with many of the locals who were very welcoming (it helps a lot that Maro also speaks Greek). We have visited Borough Market as you know (video in our London Playlist) and really enjoyed the huge variety of foods! Hope the medical goes well! I (Maxi) am supposed to be having my 2nd Astra Zeneca jab on Tuesday but am not sure whether that will happen or not as the government has that vaccine on hold. The government is making an announcement tomorrow what will happen, let´s see :-D
