First, that mail slot is adorable! Second, you restored that ledge so well. I vote to keep it since it gives a visual separation from the entry to the living room. You could also add some molding or beadboard to the bottom half to tie it in with the rest of the entry, but ultimately it's your house and you should change it to work for you!
I hope you keep that half-wall/ledge in the entryway because it is a nice demarcation/separation of the entryway to the living area. Also it's cool retro feature. I would put a plant or two on it, along with a decorative tray to hold mail/keys and a small votive candle holder. Especially now that you rehabbed the wooden top to look so amazing.
You should definitely keep the half-wall thing by the door. I think you'll miss having that shelf for keys and mail. I also love literally everything you do
I would definitely keep the little ledge! I think it’s better with some separation/definition between the spaces😊 I’m not done with the video yet, but it’s looking amazing so far!
I absolutely love this makeover! I vote to keep the ledge because it adds some separation without closing off the living room completely. The wood stripping/staining looks so great! 🤩
Wonderful job Tina! I loved everything you did on this space. Please, please KEEP the ledge!! It helps dividig the entryway from the liviing room. I like how it looks. Please keep it!
Oh I think that entryway looks amazing……and I do think you should keep the pony wall, only because it gives you some separation and it gives you an official foyer!!!!!! You are really getting better and better with your DIY’s
The wood on the half wall looks fabulous!!! I'm so glad you didn't paint it. Now your entryway is amazing. It's just so inspirational to watch you grow from crafts to building furniture and remodeling a house! You make it look so easy. Bringing to us in a very relatable way. Love watching you .
The Speckling on that jar is gorgeous. This is one of my favorite makeovers of yours! You changing up the wall really made a difference. It's airy and inviting. Greta job, Tina! 😌
Everyone gets rid of the little ledge these days and I just love the way you restored it. Personally I think it’s a great way to divide the space and would be a really fun place to paint a little mural. In the end it’s your home and I’m excited to see what you decide!
Omg!!! Entryway makeover for the win!! It looks so much better and modern and cozy and just amazing! Picture frame molding *chefs kiss* perfection!! Black door, also perfection!! Your videos are SO INSPIRING!!! Never stop!! Please!! Lol idk what I would do if you stopped making DIY and DIY makeover videos!!!
I love the whole entryway makeover. I would keep the wall since it defines the entryway from the living space. I'm trying to figure out how to create an entryway in my open concept living room, but I rent so it needs to be renter friendly. You are so creative.
I'm in love with that little door for the mail!! So cute and functional. Could you show us what it looks like outside the door? I'm going to get that for my house for sure
Once again Tina you nailed it! Love that you chose black for the door. I say keep the ledge, if you remove it, then you will have hand prints, dust and dirt over time.
Hi Tina! I just have to say that it looks amazing. It makes your home look complete. I love all of your project. Thank you for sharing. You have a lovely home. Also, you and your husband are just so adorable. I love it!
The bar keepers trick is wonderful. It turned out beautiful. I love how the top molding piece just fell right in place good going!!! The ledge turned out beautiful and personally I would keep it.
I think this is absolutely beautiful-the change in wood tone is really nice, and the picture molding adds so much. I love the larger mirror much better, too. I’m going to have to check out your video on making the table. I really love that shape. Really loving the black door and everything else!!
You never fail to amaze me with your workwomanship! I know from my own experience that a lot of prep work goes into your vision before getting to the final stage. You have done so many fantastic makeovers with your various spaces, but I must say that this one ☝🏼 is my favorite 🤩 I once lived in a tiny little house with a mail slot and I just love that you have one! I really do enjoy and look forward to your videos and I must tell you what an inspiration you are! Many blessings to you and your sweet husband! ❤️🥰
If you added a door with glass, it could make your entryway even more inviting with all that natural light. Great makeover ,I love you videos and your channel!
OMG! Ok, what I love - EVERYTHING!!! The walls, moulding and color, the black door (might be my favorite!), the little console table and mirror, and Brian's blue shirt! I was loving the little wall until you got all finished and now I think it should go. It closes the entry off too much. You did fantastic!!!
LITERALLY OBSESSED!! Such a beautiful home and welcoming entrance. Giving me all the inspiration when I begin redoing my condo! So excited to see the house completed!!
Keep the ledge, it helps to separate the entry from the living space and still looks open as it's not a full wall and secondly it helps to keep the dirt from outside in the entryway and not flying all over the room.
As always great job Tina. I think you should keep the wall in the entryway. I personally think it defines the space and keep it separate from the living area.
I love the ledge! Especially now redone. I think it’s the perfect compliment to the table you made, and some extra space for styling! My vote is keep it.
You should paint your mail slot atrium white to blend in better with the walls! Right now, it looks random next to the beautiful black door and wooden console table. Great job!
LOVE the black door, I am in the process of painting all of my interior doors and the backs of the exterior doors black. Adding new doorknobs and hinges also in antique brass. It's amazing how it brings everything up a few levels!
Love your design choices Tina! Perfect touches for this space, it feels cohesive & special without being too complicated. And the shadows cast from your DIY pendant light are so dreamy!
What a great job, I'm obsessed with entryways. Simple yet beautiful. I'm neither here or there about the ledge. Your house is coming along beautifully.
I would recommend keeping the ledge. Having a sofa close to the front door can cause a sense of uneasiness. That ledge will not only make the living space feel more safe and secluded from the entrance, it gives more character to the space.
Wow, it looks stunning. I love the console table and I would totally keep the ledge...but....would love to see you to create a plant wall structure. Not solid, with plenty of gaps to allow light in but something going from the ledge to the ceiling would add to the visual separation and create a wonderful green welcome to the entrance hall and a delightful backdrop for the living room. First thoughts are of something like the Ikea Chilistran hanging planters or you could create a lattice/trellis to affix hanging planters, or a few narrow wooden shelves with holes drilled out for pots to sit in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos, they are a joy to watch 🙂
It's so beautiful transformation and we see you with every project to grow as a diyer and your style is just aaarrrggghhhh amazing I love love love it!!!!!!
I love the mail door!!!! Its a really interesting and quirky thing in your house I dont think you should get rid of it. What I would do is change out the huge molding around it to something very slim and petite and make it look like an actual door. Smaller knob, maybe a rectangle of the same petite molding on the door as well. You could have so much fun with it. Also, you could paint it to look like a letter with a stamp. Another idea if you want to go minimal is get rid of the molding all together, paint it your wall color and again....different knob. Maybe look for something that is from a jewellery box to upcycle so its small enough.
We had that little mail door in our first house, which was built in 1961. It opened into the hall closet, which was the best and biggest hall closet we’ve ever had. In my nicest house, now, I have NO coat closet. We also had the half wall and ledge and it did demarcate the entrance. I hung plants over it.
I would say if you are planning on keeping your couch where it currently is, leave the pony wall. Otherwise the back of your couch could get grubby. Or you could ditch the pony wall, and move your couch further into the room or to a different wall.
Idea for the ledge is to put a beautiful marble on top. Stonemasons have heaps of offcuts, especially of beautiful marbles. You can often get them for a good price. Get it cut to size, and sides polished. 👍
You have done a fabulous job on your entry way and mud room!!! You are just so talented and I love watching your visions coming to life!! Have a great week!!
Looks great! For the ledge- I would say make it smaller. Demolish all but a foot so that you can have a little ledge for keys or decor. Best of both worlds!
Yay! All of your hard work paid off bc this turned out so great! You should feel so proud of yourself and all the time and effort that was put into this. I love the overall look. All the the diys work so well together!! Have a great day, stay inspired and I’ll see you in the next one! 🥰🥰
Very nice! All of it is great. I really like the hall table with the mirror. The shape is great and adds a lot of interest. I think you should leave the ledge. The wood is beautiful. Thanks for the tips on evening out the wood tones. Another point is that it defines the space without totally closing it off. I personally am a fan of open concept spaces with definition.
First, that mail slot is adorable! Second, you restored that ledge so well. I vote to keep it since it gives a visual separation from the entry to the living room. I absolutely love this makeover! I vote to keep the ledge because it adds some separation without closing off the living room completely. The wood stripping/staining looks so great! 🤩
The wall molding is such a subtle yet impactful change. Really makes the space look more sophisticated.
Small space, huge impact! Love it! ❤
It turned out amazing as usual and yes keep the pony wall because it adds a degree of separation that’s unique.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖💖💫💯
Wow, stripping that wood worked so well! It looks brand new!
I love when Brian pops in! He's so positive and adorable
looks great! I vote to keep the wall. I think the white paint gives that open-ness and the wall gives a bit of definition.
Okay but can we just talk about how your hair just sits so perfectly when you let it down!
Love that more and more spaces in your home are even so cute as backgrounds for filming!
Everyone gets rid of the little ledge these days and I just love the way you restored it. Personally I think it’s a great way to divide the space and would be a really fun place to paint a little mural. In the end it’s your home and I’m excited to see what you decide!

Honestly your restoration of that wood is impressive!!!
Love all you did to transform the hall way to your style. Perfect!
Love the simple yet elegant entry way and the ledge is my favorite part
I love the whole entryway makeover. I would keep the wall since it defines the entryway from the living space. I'm trying to figure out how to create an entryway in my open concept living room, but I rent so it needs to be renter friendly. You are so creative.
Great makeover. You are turning a house into your home. I vote to keep the entry pony wall. Enjoy your videos. 😃
Keep the ledge! It's a cute architectural detail that separates the entry wall from the living room. Great job on this make over, looks beautiful!
I'm in love with that little door for the mail!! So cute and functional. Could you show us what it looks like outside the door? I'm going to get that for my house for sure
Yes love the idea of it how about painting to blend in with the wall
WOW this looks wonderful! I can't believe how beautifully everything turned out!
KEEP! That restored ledge looks so good and it also gives a separation from the living room.
This looks so good!! Simple, elegant and luxurious rustic.
What a big difference! It looks so nice!
Once again Tina you nailed it! Love that you chose black for the door. I say keep the ledge, if you remove it, then you will have hand prints, dust and dirt over time.
I luv the tip about doing a pencil drawing on the trim duh ... entry looks so good
Hi Tina! I just have to say that it looks amazing. It makes your home look complete. I love all of your project. Thank you for sharing. You have a lovely home. Also, you and your husband are just so adorable. I love it!
Looks amazing n love how the entery ledge turned out...I would keep it...Ur hubby lending a hand in his blue T...👍great team work💕
The bar keepers trick is wonderful. It turned out beautiful. I love how the top molding piece just fell right in place good going!!! The ledge turned out beautiful and personally I would keep it.
Keep the ledge, it's a great place for plants plus it defines your entryway. The space looks fantastic, congrats on another great project.
Love it. The black door looks so good and the wood on the half wall turned out gorgeous.
I loved the tablet console and the mirror, all beautiful 😍
I think this is absolutely beautiful-the change in wood tone is really nice, and the picture molding adds so much. I love the larger mirror much better, too. I’m going to have to check out your video on making the table. I really love that shape. Really loving the black door and everything else!!
It looks amazing! I would keep the ledge!
The round mirror looks best Tina!! It really does!!
Keep the divider, it defines the entry way to its own space
! Great job!
You never fail to amaze me with your workwomanship!
I know from my own experience that a lot of prep work goes into your vision before getting to the final stage.

I really do enjoy and look forward to your videos and I must tell you what an inspiration you are!

This looks great! The closet is by far my favorite in the entryway makeover but the picture molding is a nice touch!
If you added a door with glass, it could make your entryway even more inviting with all that natural light. Great makeover ,I love you videos and your channel!

Yassssss! I'm so excited to see what you're going to do in your new place 👏
I haven't finished the video, but I must say I always say "every single week" with Tina at the beginning of the video! HAHA ✨
Omg, that is too funny! Appreciate you watching "every single week" with me 😂💛
I also didn't finished the video.. she talk to much. I wanna see more actions...so i am out
Awesome makeover. Love all the projects!!!😘
Keep the ledge, it helps to separate the entry from the living space and still looks open as it's not a full wall and secondly it helps to keep the dirt from outside in the entryway and not flying all over the room.
Agree and she can add slats to the top just to make it look more intentional
As always great job Tina. I think you should keep the wall in the entryway. I personally think it defines the space and keep it separate from the living area.
THE LITTLE MAIL DOOR 😭😭😭 how cute!!!! PLEASE do a quick mini makeover on that - it makes me laugh!
I love the ledge! Especially now redone. I think it’s the perfect compliment to the table you made, and some extra space for styling! My vote is keep it.
Tina, I love the Picture Frame accent wall. I just added it to our bathroom wall, and it’s so pretty.✨
You should paint your mail slot atrium white to blend in better with the walls! Right now, it looks random next to the beautiful black door and wooden console table. Great job!
Tina, you did a great job stripping the wood and what a good idea to get the stains out!
LOVE the black door, I am in the process of painting all of my interior doors and the backs of the exterior doors black. Adding new doorknobs and hinges also in antique brass. It's amazing how it brings everything up a few levels!
Happy International Women Day to you!! You definitely represent. I LOVE YOUR WORK💚💚💚 Simply Beautiful.
Your house is coming along beautifully.
this is so beautiful! you are really putting love and hard work into your home.
yaaaaasssss the wood trim is everything!!
Love the results and your taste in design! Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wow! It looks so good! What a difference.
Love it!!! I vote keep the pony wall. It gives a little separation without blocking anything.
Oh Tina, this looks so amazing 😍 What a huge difference!
The black accents are everything 😍 I’d love to see what the space looks like without the ledge
Beautiful job, Tina! Love how your vision came together. 💕
It's so beautiful transformation and we see you with every project to grow as a diyer and your style is just aaarrrggghhhh amazing I love love love it!!!!!!
It looks amazing! Really good job.
It looks amazing!!! You did such a great job. Loving the walls and the color. Everything looks so good. 👍

It looks really good. I vote keep the 1/2 wall, I like how it separates the entry and a ledge to put a few decor pieces.
We had that little mail door in our first house, which was built in 1961. It opened into the hall closet, which was the best and biggest hall closet we’ve ever had. Wow Tina you are so talented with all these home improvement and all other projects.. This looks stunning!
I agree keep the ledge, that bit of separation coming in the house makes a big difference in the over all look of the space.
Loving the complete project!! Way to go!! 👍😍
I would say if you are planning on keeping your couch where it currently is, leave the pony wall. Otherwise the back of your couch could get grubby. Or you could ditch the pony wall, and move your couch further into the room or to a different wall.
So high end looking ! Looks beautiful !
Idea for the ledge is to put a beautiful marble on top. Stonemasons have heaps of offcuts, especially of beautiful marbles. You can often get them for a good price. Get it cut to size, and sides polished. 👍
The wall is so simple yet beautiful! Love the whole look🥰
Looks GREAT !! Tina you are amazing !! I love the picture moulding on the wall . You are not afraid to try anything, good for you !
Also , I would get rid of the pony wall .. it's going to end up being a catch all.."stuff" collector. It was the style in the 80's
Looks so amazing! And I absolutely love the little mail slot, so cute!
You have done a fabulous job on your entry way and mud room!!! You are just so talented and I love watching your visions coming to life!! Have a great week!!
Now the entryway is perfect❣ so perfect❣ you are incredible 👏👏👏👏
Everything is looking so nice Tina you do great work keep up the good work I am enjoying watching every video😊
Keep the ledge!! It adds so much character ❤️
Looks great! For the ledge- I would say make it smaller. Demolish all but a foot so that you can have a little ledge for keys or decor. Best of both worlds!
Ahhh! Tina! This looks SO GOOD 😍 The wall molding oomphed it up and everything ties in so well with the mudroom and light fixture!!
This is sooooo satisfying to watch. I'm in love with your creativity 💕
It came out so beautiful I love it! I vote to do away with the wall it will open up your space so much!❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💕
I love this makeover!! You should make the little mail door into a tiny replica of your front door when you replace it! It would be so cute
Yay! All of your hard work paid off bc this turned out so great! You should feel so proud of yourself and all the time and effort that was put into this. I love the overall look. All the the diys work so well together!! Have a great day, stay inspired and I’ll see you in the next one! 🥰🥰
Love the black door and mirror looks beautiful. Keep the half wall.
Everything looks great. I’m for keeping the ledge. It creates a formal entry. It’s a unique feature of your house.
I agree with you about knocking out that half wall. By taking it down, it will open up the space.
