I bought this lens less than a month ago and I am amazed by the beauty of the images, both in detail and in true colours. In post production there is almost nothing to do. It is very sharp . I'm a woman but the weight doesn't bother me, it's worth tiring my arms a little 👍
Agree 100% with the info of this video. I don't have a very steady hand for hand held shots but the combination of the VC (IS) of this lens paired with the IBIS of the R6 put an end to my problem. Lens is sharp and I honestly love its weight, it feels solid like a tank. It's always in my bag wherever I go along with my Canon EF 70-200 L II. Nice video, thanks.

It's been close to 6 months since I got it and been using extensively and it is AMAZING. Shot sports, events and my Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2 never ever let's me down. Purchased the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-63 for wildlife.
The only con for me is it has extreme focus breathing. Like it’s not corrected AT ALL for focus breathing. Otherwise it’s pretty much the perfect 24-70 f2.8 and an insane value.
I have that lens and the 70-200mm 2.8. Very nice lenses. The 24-70 lives on my Canon 6D. I use an adapter and run it on a Sony a5000 and a5100. Both lenses work well with the adapter. I will admit though. Seeing the little Sonys on the 70-200 looks well, I'm thinking a mouse and an elephant. Let your gutter mind figure that out. LOL. The 24-70 is a bit heavy. I had to sell some stuff to get the two Tamrons. Would I like some L glass? Sure. But the cost of the Tamrons vs the same in L glass. It was have the two in Tamron, or not in Canon.
Any lens that you pair with an canon mirrorless body that has ibis will actually reduce the amount of ibis you get when paired with a lens that is NOT an RF mount lens. So you won't get 7-8 stops of stabilization unfortunately.

I tried that lense with my R6 II. AF didn't work reliable in servo-mode and the lense was noisy while trying to focus. Update of firmware didn't help. Tamron support told me to send for repair! I returned the lense to the dealer. No Tamron for me.
Hello, I have a Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Canon, G1. I use it for video and I noticed that the image "jumps" when I shoot, I also hear the aperture sound even if I don't change the settings. On top of that, I get some red marks around the subject as if I'm manually focusing and sometimes it suddenly stops while I'm shooting after having the above mentioned issues. What would be the problem and is it worth repairing or should I buy a G2?
I've used the canon 70-200mm f2.8 LII lens and also the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 G2 lens. Imo the canon lens is sharp but that's all. The Tamron lens is also sharp but the images also brings with it some character that is very pleasing and requires little editing.
How is the dust sealing on this particular lens? I've heard photographers having a nightmare with Tamron and Sigma's current 24-70 due to *dust* getting sucked in to the lens due to *poor* sealing on the extending lens barrel. To your knowledge, does the Tamron F2.8 24-70mm G2 have a filter between the extending barrel and the main barrel to prevent dust from getting sucked into the lens? Or in your extensive use of the lens, have you detected any issues with dust [long term use]?
This lens fits so freakin perfect on my 6d mk ll and the results it gives me waaauw , i have the 35 and 45mm f1.8 primes wich also is just a waaauw piece of glasses to but i had to get this , i was going to sell my primes but i cant make myself selling them haha love shooting with these lenses .. great video Paul :-)

I have both, the R6 and this Tamron 24-70 G2 and they work together like a charm. It's actually the one lens I use the most along with the Canon EF 70-200 L II. As stated in this video, you can't go wrong with this lens.

@@crayshaunhenderson1265 It depends on what you’re planning to do with the camera. If you plan to shoot Photos ONLY then the 5D IV is a beast that will last you for Years! However, if you’re planning on doing video… then you’d be much better served by Canon’s R series cameras. (R6, R5, or R3.).
@@PaulStrople you dont understood. You dont need stabilization for 24-50mm for photo technically, coz u will not get blur on this amount of mm (if your hands is ok). For example. To get blur on 24mm you need shatter speed longer than 1/24. In 50mm shutter speed longer than 1/50 sec. Ofc if you shooting rock steady people (not alive), you can shoot in 1/50, but i afraid that's not your model for photoshoot. If we a talking about alive people, you need shatter speed about 1/60-1/80 if you need not to get blur from their moving and stabilization will not help U. Sooo its suitable for video to reduce camera shakes.
Hi Paul I am using 24 105 f4L on my canon Eos R . Its not sharp till f5.6 . I shoot mostly indoor parties. Just wondering if tamron 24 70 f2.8 g2 is sharper than Canon 24 105f4L. I do use Tamron 70 _ 200 f2.8 G2 on my Eos R with adapter and it is really sharp . I don't need to go over f3.5 even for 4-5 people group. Please let me know about 24 70 f2.8 g2 if its sharper than 24 105 canon F4L. Thanks
So sorry I just came across this! I haven't used the 24-105 f4, but I did do some research for you. It seems to be a common issue with that lens. I'd say this Tamron 24-70 is sharper for sure, however, you may need to calibrate the lens with the dock that tamron sells (it's like, $60) to make sure it's perfectly sharp.(I'm currently having to do this with mine on the R6II) I can say from experience though, when this lens is sharp... it's SHARP.
Hi can someone help me? I own this tamron 27-70 G2 with a Canon R6 Mark ii. I use the Ef-R-Controll-Ring-Adapter. I noticed, when I turn my aperture from e.g. F10 back to F2.8 (AV- and TV-Mode) the Aperture goes only very slowly down - step by step to F2.8. What can i do??
I have the same combo, and mine does the same thing...kind of. It's not super slow, but it's not instant either. I've never found a solution, but it doesn't really bother me.
For everyday and multipurpose usage, would you recommend this or the RF 24-105 f/4? They both are comparable in cost. Both have IS/VC. One has a longer zoom range and one has bigger aperture. But the RF lens fits on the Canon mirrorless without an adapter and this one requires an adapter thereby increasing weight. So for all day and all purpose usage, which one would you recommend?
For all day all purpose usage, I'd actually go with the Tamron 24-70. the weight difference even with the adapter is negligible, and the wider aperture is a lifesaver in low light. However, if you are shooting with an R6... the lowlight on that camera is insane, so you can get away with the 24-105's f/4 aperture.

I actually recently replaced this lens with a Canon 24-70 2.8 L II... but the tamron was an absolute beast while I had it!

I just bought a "used" version of this G2 lens for 800 euros, with only 500 shots and a UV filter. A good bargain IMHO, I think I'm gonna like it ;-)

It's not perfectly silent, but it's not super loud either. It's about the same noise level as the RF lenses I've tried.

You don’t have to buy a full frame camera. However, you’ll get the best experience out of this lens if you pair it with a full frame body.

It would still be a nice mid range zoom, although it would function as a 36-112mm.

Most of the time I do not. It’s just IBIS plus lens stabilization. 😁

For everyday and multipurpose usage, would you recommend this or the RF 24-105 f/4? They both are comparable in cost. Both have IS/VC. One has a longer zoom range and one has bigger aperture. But the RF lens fits on the Canon mirrorless without an adapter and this one requires an adapter thereby increasing weight. So for all day and all purpose usage, which one would you recommend?
For all day all purpose usage, I'd actually go with the Tamron 24-70. the weight difference even with the adapter is negligible, and the wider aperture is a lifesaver in low light.
However, if you are shooting with an R6... the lowlight on that camera is insane, so you can get away with the 24-105's f/4 aperture.

@@chengliang7501 I've been looking to get the 70-210mm f/4 for the RP, but concern about the adapted AF and VC performance has kept me from pulling the trigger. Have you had any issues with those, particularly with the R6's IBIS?

Just beware it’s amazing lens but 1 out of four will not focus sharp out of the box. You will need the dock and calibrate it. 😊
I just ordered the dock this morning haha. My copy of the lens is tack sharp in video, but a wee bit off for photo, so I'll calibrate it!
I want to buy the Tamron 24-70 for my Canon 80d and I will get the 90d very soon but for now I will get the sigma 24mm 1.4 the sigma 70-200 and the sigma 18-35 and I'm done so please tell me about the flash cause I need to buy one

@@johnthomas3941 fast glass, use available light, a slow shutter speed, a tripod and a camera with good lowlight performance at high ISO values help.

No. The best lens is "Helios 40-2 85mm 1.5". Variable focal length and autofocus for weaklings! :-D
